I've ordered books through them and they're good with finding used books and then selling them to me at lower than full price, reasonable price but not max price. They're right next-door to Winans Chocolate & Coffee, so it's really convenient to find a nice little walk, get yourself a nice cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and then go in the back to the reading room between the two and sit down in the corner of the couch and do some reading.

The decor is old school and soothing and the different genres are marked on the outside of the shelves. I was disappointed to not see a dedicated area for horror/weird fiction. I enquired about Lovecraft and the very helpful male staff member told me nothing was in at the moment. He directed me to fantasy/science fiction and I did find a book to my liking. He also found me a small collection of Poe which I also secured for my library. I was also advised that I can let them know of books or authors that I'm seeking and they would let me know if anything comes in. The store is big so I know there is much more for me to explore next visit and they have several cozy sitting areas where you can just read, or have a cup of tea as well. I'm glad to be able to find my way out of the wilderness, to find a working Barnes & Noble, especially since Borders/Waldenbooks went away. My visit went very smoothly today and the store was next to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and close to a number of other stores, so it was extremely convenient. Guessing the layout of the store is the only real surprise. They had two magazines I wanted and I was able to avoid the stinky coffee area, which was wonderful. Checkout was ever so quick and smooth. Prices are not discounted but they/we have to pay for all the people using their store as a library.

There also is a second floor which may be dedicated to a children's area; not positive as I didn't go up there. I am always on the lookout for old books as in 70-plus years, but not a whole lot in that department here as far as sorted items. There was a big stack of aged books but not catalogued. Believe me, I would have gladly pulled up a stool and reviewed the entire stack but as is often the case, the impatient husband was waiting in the car so I couldn't prolong my visit. I did grab a great sci-fi classic by Isaac Asimov; the book is pretty beat up but one dollar! Also spotted a tote bag featuring cats and books so that went home with me for sure. There are places to sit if you want to chill and read for a while. The lady behind the counter indicated that I could contact them for any old books I am searching for. Happy that they have Sunday hours and looking forward to a future visit.
