I absolutely loved living at Indigo during my time in Portland. The units were very spacious - we had a 1 bedroom and it didn't feel small at all. Unit itself was great in that we never heard any upstairs or next door neighbors which was wonderful. Location was great as well, very walkable to everywhere in downtown. I really enjoyed my time at the salon and mostly that I got to go with my daughter. Was able to relax while she was also getting a hair cut and she enjoyed it as much as I did. I just moved around the area and I am very happy I was able to find this cut local shop. The service I got from Melissa was amazing also from everyone else very welcoming. I lived here for two years, in a one bedroom on the 17th floor (663 sq ft). Pros: - Beautiful building, thoughtfully designed with a particularly stunning rooftop - Environmentally friendly touches - Dog friendly - Concrete construction makes it very quiet (you hardly ever hear your neighbors) Cons: - CRAZY expensive! My husband and I have a combined income of almost 200k a year and we could no longer afford to live here (at least not while having any sort of reasonable retirement savings). Insane rent hikes each year forced us to move. Our rent went from $1700 to $2100, plus $400 a month for 2 parking spots, then up again to $2400. This was back in 2015, so prices must be even higher now. - Location has gone down hill. There are dozens of junkies camped on the sidewalks and all along the streets. Broken glass, needles, vomit and trash are everywhere. My car windows were broken three times while I lived here (while my car was INSIDE the parking garage) and I was accosted on a regular basis. One homeless man tried to pee on me, others defecate right out in the open, on the regular. read more

This is the best place I have ever lived! Nothing negative to say. Here are my favorite parts of living here: 1) The location couldn't be better- walkable to everything. I never drive my car anymore. 2) The building staff and leasing team are amazing. They serve breakfast once a month, free coffee every day, and every couple of weeks have social get togethers/parties/happy hours! Events like October Fest, holiday gift wrapping, etc. 3) The construction is very high quality, I have never heard a neighbor above below or beside me. 4) the VIEW! My views are south facing, totally unobstructed. Can't get that many other places downtown. Everyone should live here. read more

I just read a post about Patrick, we toured with him last year around this time and just applied for a unit recently because of his tour (we also had a virtual tour with another employee last month). He was very polite and professional with us, showed us everything and answered our questions. He sold the apartment to us last year, we just chose a lease special somewhere else at the time. We've been living in the Indigo since May. One of the best places to live in Portland honestly. The rent is pricey in terms of the Portland market, but very reasonable in the larger scale of modern downtown apartments. People constantly bitch and moan about Portland's downtown but honest to god you will never find rent this cheap any other legitimate west coast city. The apartment is gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows, quiet, safe, and elegant. I feel a deep sense of pride inviting others to the place I live. The rooftop lounge is the ultimate summer hang out and the movie theatre is a great place to host a party. The gym has never been packed and the concierge team is amazing. This is a cool apartment because it's near Whole Foods, Fred Meyers, loads of restaurants and bars, and concert venues. One of my favourite features is that local restaurants Masu and Jake's will deliver food directly to your apartment. Nothing beats a hot bowl of ramen hand-delivered on a rainy day. I love the air conditioning in the summer. The kitchen is large, and all the appliances are modern. Everyone in the building has so far been friendly. Also the building is pet-friendly and does not discriminate by breed. You can get a load of services to your room other than just food too, like a masseuse, a personal trainer, an interior designer, an organizational assistant, a pet trainer, cleaning services, and pet-sitting. One of my favourite things so far is a recently developed concierge-team website where you can make all your requests for services online and also track your packages. Oh, and they offer free coffee in the morning to residents. Just bring your mug downstairs, and ta-da! A hot cup of coffee, with love from Indigo. You can even plop down in the lobby and read the New York Times before you head off to work. What can I say? I'm a downtown kind of girl. read more

The management staff are completely horrible. I go about my business and they find reasons to make my life hell. Don't live here. Since they were bought by Greystar, the customer service and hired staff, who hate life and there job, find reasons to make to make your living existence hell too. Besides being dog friendly, run. Highest Quality Management; Extra-ordinary Services The title says it all. I've lived in Portland since 2001, been chairman of a condo association, and a resident at the Indigo since 2013 -- using 6 management services. Hands down Greystar at The Indigo is the BEST. Why? Their in-house staff including housekeeping and concierge knows what they are doing, are approachable and helpful, respond quickly and accept suggestions. This is a reflection of the Community Manager who casts a long shadow by demonstrating the same customer-service orientation plus flexible about requests. In addition, she promotes lots of clever social events to bring the very diverse group of tenants together. Now to the "hard to believe" -- they just engaged "Hello Alfred" a contracted resident services company that offers FREE extras such as weekly Tidy Up that includes making your bed, cleaning up the kitchen, plant watering, garbage to trash room, picking up medications at your pharmacy, and many more options. They also offer pay-for-services but you don't have to take any. When I tell friends about Hello Alfred, they are amazed. It doesn't get better than this! read more

I've been waiting to write a review of my apartment building so that I could get a real feel for the place. I agree with some of the other reviews that yes, the place feels luxurious, it feels like a 5 star hotel and the amenities are really nice. The common areas can be booked up but hey, I'm sharing them with how many other people? It only makes sense that the private movie theatre isn't available every time I want it. Some people have mentioned that the roof top is always busy as well. When it's nice out and I want to grill, what makes me think that no one else will have the same idea? It is simply unrealistic to expect that a common area will be void of people whenever I want it to be. If I wanted to be completely alone then I would have moved into a house instead of a popular apartment building. As for the staff, sure there are some people who work there that I don't want to even say good morning to, some people have an attitude but that's just like any business. Overall I've have a good experience. I love the layout of my apartment, it's the perfect size for myself and my husband. I've never had an issue with smelling smoke, in the hallway do I smell someone making burgers? Sure, but I guarantee you when I make home made chinese food they smell it in the hallway too. The noise levels are really low, the street noise is almost completely gone when I have my windows closed. I have a beautiful view even from a lower floor. I appreciate the security, the amenities, the great location. I like the fact that my utility bills are so freaking low! Room service is a great option too. Plus they offer things like carpet cleaning for $30. Really not a bad deal if you ask me. Overall, I am really happy I signed the longest lease they had available. It's been the perfect place for my husband and I to move, especially when moving from the east coast. read more

Lived here 1 year in a large 1 bedroom. Amazing amenities, stunning views (4 volcano view). Gas range and oven are huge, one of only a few buildings in PDX that has them. Perfect location. Awesome concierge team, always eager to help. Good gym, machines + weights. Little issues: Lighting in our north-facing apartment was tricky in the winter, especially in the kitchen. Inner apartment walls are thinish and don't block sound well, complicates separating living room / bedroom space when there are 2 of you (Other walls are much better, never heard any of my neighbors). Balconies are small and downtown ambient noise is loud especially on the north side above Whole Foods (AC system fans). Elevators are slow (my pet peeve :) ). Don't have online bill paying system, gotta write a check each month. Overall this is possibly the nicest place in Portland to live, and the price reflects this, especially for the 2 bedrooms. Left to move into a larger 2 bedroom apartment and wanted to try living on the east side of the river. read more

I lived here for a year and a half. I had the largest one bedroom floorplan on the 7th floor (one of the lowest). I really enjoyed living here. Great location. The gym and the cinema are fantastic amenities. I wouldn't live anywhere else in Portland. The only downside that I could see was that the parking was public and residents didn't have any dedicated parking spot. read more

I was very excited to apply to rent at Indigo (from out of state). Then I was assigned Patrick, in leasing, who was a nightmare. He refused to provide simple neighborhood information, telling me to go online and find it myself. When he didn't follow through on appointments HE had made, he said I wasn't his only applicant. He told me he was changing jobs to a new building with a new corporation. His behavior showed canned sales phrases, then extreme rudeness. I withdrew my application and have lost $542. By far the best place I've ever lived in. Every thing is so great in this building. The staff is AMAZING. Concierges are awesome and everybody is always helpful ! The gym is great, always clean and pretty empty. We even have a theater room... and a huge roof top with fire places. Apartments are brand new, super well isolated from the cold and the noise. It's so quiet ! The big plus if you have a pet is that it's crowded with dogs ! It's the only place where I actually made my neighbors my friends. The only downside, it's the price. It's way above the average Portland rent. Plus, it raises every year forcing people to leave their apartment and their neighbor. I think they should invest in the people and the community that is builded in the Indigo rather than finding new people for a hundred more bucks a month. For the rest, everything is literally perfect. I've read other reviews that complains about the water shut-off. Yes it's true indigo had issues with water but they gave residents huge refunds on rent. Most buildings are landlords wouldn't have bothered. I think they managed the water shut-off the best they could. read more

I've had a studio apartment on the 9th floor since May 2016, and I have completely enjoyed my experience here at Indigo. The staff and management is exceptional. I travel about 50% of the time for work, and I otherwise work from home, so it's extra important for me to be comfortable at home and enjoy my time there. Safety and security are important, both when I'm home as well as when I'm away, and I have zero concerns in that area. The front desk is staffed 24/7, key-fob access to the entrance and the elevators. The concierge staff is fantastic - always pleasant and helpful. They do provide package service (with a smile). I only had two maintenance requests that occurred within a couple months of moving in, and they were immediately addressed (same/next day). My highest electric bill has been about $30. I rarely needed the A/C (cooling or heating); the place is extremely well-insulated and quiet. The outer wall of the apartment is entirely glass, and one section is a sliding door (which stays open as much as the weather allows). The location is awesome. Whole Foods on the next block, about a dozen restaurants just within the same or adjacent blocks, easy access to public trans. If you don't own a car or want to ditch yours, the location is perfect. If you do own a car, it will cost you $200/month for a space in the garage, but it's not assigned parking, and it's public parking as well. I never had a problem, but others have returned home to find the garage full - so your $200/month doesn't guarantee you a space. All things considered, I feel completely spoiled living here. I'm moving out of state; otherwise, I'd stay put. read more

We stayed there in lieu of a hotel for a long weekend (they rent out some units that are not leased) and it was outstanding. Impossible value and ammenities. Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath, corner unit had a kitchen, and living room, and washer/dryer..and deck...plus dog and bike friendly...all for less that staying in a TEENY room at even the Westin. There was ZERO "oh you are hoteler" attitude from staff or the folks who lived there. We could walk to so many cool spots we never had to touch the car (which by the way, parked for free downstairs). I just can't say enough about this place and I never would have found it without Yelp! read more

It has all the amenities of a mansion (Theater, rooftop patio, gym, concierge, meeting rooms, etc.) with a smaller, simpler living space. It was overlooking the pearl district, and what a view of the city from the roof. i work in a gold LEED building here in Vegas, but the Indigo is a platinum LEED building, holy crap it was cool. I've lived at the Indigo in a one bedroom and now in a Penthouse. The very best in Portland without a doubt. Management is responsive to my needs and always timely with any ordinary maintenance issues. They make me smile. Manager and her staff are so kind and helpful. The concierge just the best people ever! I've thought about purchasing a condo but with some of the problems that exist with HOA's and special assessments plus dealing the the volunteer members of the HOA committee, I think I'd rather pay rent at the Indigo. People complain about the cost of monthly leases here but as the saying goes " you get what you pay for". I'm not going anywhere, I staying right here at The Indigo! read more

Perfect, perfect, perfect. We stayed here for a long weekend instead of a hotel and it was great! Walking distance to everything in the Pearl District and much more. It was our first stay in Portland and we will back. The studio we were in was great with a view of downtown. We felt very comfortable being there since we are not leasing. We have lived in the Indigo since August 2014. And now that we have had a chance to get a real feel for the building and the staff, I can say it is by far the best place we have lived. The management staff is incredible. The Concierge team are simply daymakers. They go out of their way to make every resident of the Indigo happy. Being greeted with a smile at the end of a long day, having cookies at the front desk available or having the elevator called down for you when your hands are full with groceries, are just some examples of the magic they create daily. The building is beautiful and the amenities and view are spectacular. The very few maintenance requests I have had to put in were addressed the same day. The rent is higher than the Portland average for the area. But as a few have pointed out, you get what you pay for and living at the Indigo is well worth it. They create a premium living experience for all of their residents. We look forward to making the Indigo our home for years to come. read more

The building and amenities are nice but there are issues with the ventilation system and exhaust from other units (food odors and cigarette smoke) coming in to your unit via the bathroom and kitchen fans. I would make sure they fix this problem before moving in. read more
