We searched for quite a while to find a good…read morequality garden store in our area (not wanting to have to go to the large, big box stores for everything) and were thrilled to find Pioneer West right close to our house. This place has had everything we've been looking for, and more! They have a great selection of plants, flowers, starters, seeds, soil, and more. Logistically, it's pretty easy to move around too, with wider aisles and carts to help lug everything around. Staff is also very helpful with loading things into your car/truck too. They have a back alley that makes it easy to pull up and they'll help get things into your vehicle. We haven't been to one yet, but they also offer classes and informational events to learn more about gardening, planting, etc. Check them out on Facebook for these listings. What we didn't know going in the first time was how many animals/pets they have. Fish, birds, and reptiles are plentiful and something fun for the kids to see. I highly recommend Pioneer West for your gardening needs. My only wish is that they were open on Sundays, as most of our outdoor projects need to happen on the weekends.

After two weeks, I am happy to say that my shrimp are thriving (one pictured here valiantly riding my apple snail), which pays homage to Kaija's quality of pets. As the fish guy at Kaija's knew that I had been waiting patiently for this particular breed of shrimp to come back in stock, he even gave me a small discount for my wait time. I highly recommend their store for their great customer service, reasonable prices, quality products, and knowledgeable staff.
