I accidentally came an hour late for my haircut appointment and I was charged $23 as a late fee and yelled at by Tracy Wilson. She called me on the phone and immediately started yelling. I was in another appointment and she said she'd call me back. Six days later, I called her and she told me it was all my fault. The card number she used was a cancelled card, which I didn't get to tell her, but she said she was going to get her money back because what happened wasn't her problem. I would have offered to give her part of the money, but she hung up the phone. read more

Used to go for a pedicure, but they have since raised their gel pedicure fee to $100, no longer offer online appointments for pedicures & charge $85 for a late cxl fee if less than 48 hours. My Drs office doesnt even charge that much for a late cxl. Plus, have to pay for parking across the street. I will no longer be a client, not worth the cost or hassle. read more

Elena does a beautiful job cutting curly hair, and was able to reshape my hair into bouncy curls. I had my hair and my make-up done by the Indulgence Salon team for my December 10th wedding and both women did an incredible job. I could not be happier with how it turned out. They both delivered exactly what I asked for. I showed them pictures and explained what I was going for with my overall look, and they made it happen. I asked Kuri to give me a wavy natural looking hairstyle that I could wear down - I also wanted it to have an old Hollywood sort of feel. She gave me soft waves/gentle curls that held the entire evening without excessive product! I was extremely impressed and it looked awesome! I also loved my make-up. I wanted something glamorous that still felt semi-natural since I don't usually wear make-up and I didn't want to feel like a stranger when I looked in the mirror. The woman that did my make-up (I'm so sorry! I don't know her name!) made sure to keep that in mind and was awesome. I loved the final look. I got ready at the reception location (Country Club of Pittsfield) since that is where the pictures were going to be happening prior to the ceremony and they came and did their work on site. It was awesome and one less thing to worry about. It was also super helpful that I got to have a trial a few weeks before the wedding because it allowed us to tweak the look to make sure it was perfect for the big day. Sadly this hair salon does not cater to a diverse population, rather they seem to only know how to cut one kind of hair.... though (according to their website bios) the 30 years of experience and the amount of times they write "specializing in women's hair" should have probably given them a chance to learn how to cut hair ........ all different types of hair. Unfortunately, I am not sure this salon is progressive enough which makes me wonder if the haircuts will even be good.....or just outdated. read more

I really like Indulgence Salon. I moved my patronage here from another because of my superb stylist Eileen Conway. I am a senior citizen, but that doesn't mean I want my white hair in pin curls! Me: I don't know Stylist: ok, how about color...what were u thinking for color? Me: I don't know You get the point...lol... however that was not my experience at this salon...Indulgence Salon in Pittsfield Ma. I didn't have to worry about stressing with anything, which is great because I'm just not good at it! Lol But Tracy, however, is AMAZING at those decisions. She knew exactly what to do, exactly what would look great and she did it with out making me feel like I was clueless about hair! I felt at ease, and so comfortable that i found myself dozing off in the chair! In the end I couldn't believe the transformation. I was so happy with the results. The best part was that I could make my hair look fantastic the next day on my own! I went in there with low self esteem and little confidence and left there feeling like a princess. Thank you Tracy!! My hair comes out perfect every time!! They are reasonable in price and I constantly have people asking where i get my hair done.

I am a visitor to the Pittsfield area and was looking for a hair salon to give me a quick clean up while I'm in town for about a month. I am a mixed-race woman and have a hard time finding people I trust to cut my hair but, looking at the Indulgence website, it looked like a place with experienced hair stylists, so I made an appointment. When I showed up to the salon I was immediately pulled aside and told that no one was trained to do "ethnic hair"... First of all, hair is hair and I was just asking for a clean up, not a full haircut (my hair is very short). Secondly, why is nobody in the salon trained to cut all kinds of hair? This may be a bigger "what is wrong with the beauty school industry" question, but it's also a question for the owner: why don't you hire people who can work with all hair textures? There were plenty of hairdressers in the salon and the fact that not one of them was qualified is ridiculous. It would make everyone's life less awkward and uncomfortable if you would just find someone to bring into the salon that can deal with any type of hair and person. I was put in a situation where I felt humiliated; everyone was listening to me being turned away for my race. I'm not asking the hairstylists in this place to go back to school and be trained (although, maybe it's not a bad idea to better your career by being versatile), I'm asking for the freedom to be able to walk into a salon and be treated like the rest of the customers. Hire someone who can take care of anyone who walks in that door, no questions asked. read more

My mother and I came in to get our hair done before my wedding. They were fast and did an amazing job (and the price was very reasonable)! Through out the day, so many people commented on how lovely my hair was. And now with pictures people keep asking me where I got it done! I came in with an idea of what I wanted (a braided updo) but without any pictures. The woman who did our hair (Anna, I think) was fantastic - took the idea and made it even better. What's more - she did not destroy my hair (or head) with too much hair spray or too many bobby pins. The hair style lasted no problem through the entire day (12+ hours) of preparations and celebration but was easy to remove once I was ready to shower. My mother had her hair washed and blown out and was very happy with the results. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thanks! read more
