Mike is awesome!!!! He really did his best to match the needs of my request and was very helpful and went out of his way to service my wheels. My goal was to get as close to a factory finish on my Volk Ce28 but with a small twist. We ended up going with a brushed finish coated with a matte clear powdercoat. The end result was BEAUTIFUL!! I was referred here by a friend of mine to get some fresh powdercoat on my wheels. Not only did I get them done once... but twice! Ya that might sound bad, but that's because I decided to change the color on them. The first time I got them done, 2 weeks turned to 3, but that was my fault since I wasn't able to make it out a week before.. and the second time, 2 weeks was 2.5weeks which wasn't bad (only addressing the turn around issue since the other comments are about that). Well what do u expect? Anything that has to deal with paint of polish.. or fixing anything with metal might take longer than expected. This place did it's job updating me weekly as they said they would, the paint quality is great, and the prices are very competitive and affordable. Was referred to this place from a very good friend of mine and was highly recommended. Tried calling looking for mike but the lady (perhaps the receptionist) would not transfer me. She was rude and very unpleasant to deal with. From short answers to attitudes. She sounded like she hated her job. If you hate it, go get a job elsewhere. I got my rims powdercoated here, a set of 4 that were not in the best of shape. Mike was able to explain the process to me, show me a variety of colors, and just overall be helpful. And at $50/wheel to strip and powdercoat, I thought i was getting a great deal. On the day that I got them, I didn't really bother to double check their work, which unfortunately, was a mistake. i rushed and grabbed my tires and got them mounted. When I finally got them home to clean and put them on my car, I noticed a lot of problems. A few bubbles that popped along the inside, the area around the lug nuts were poorly done and showed some green (previous rim color). My friend's valve stem tool slid off the rim and fell through, leaving a scrape so I don't think the coating is that durable either. I'm not sure if the mediocre quality was partially due to the poor condition of the rims, but if I ever get another set done, I'm paying the extra $20 bucks and gas mileage to go soemwhere else. read more

I'm going to start by saying that I am completely appalled at the service and customer care I was given at this business. I have no idea what kind of business you guys are trying to give but I want to know how you had to pay to get such a good rating. I'll start off with my first visit, called the lady which by the way was no help and cared less about anything, asked her about coating my shift knob and lugnuts, she told me to come down so I did. Now I'm a pretty easy going customer and I'm always as kind and easy to work with as possible. So I dropped my items and i waited about 2 weeks to get my things powder coated. Now prior to this on the phone i asked if I powdercoated my lug nuts would it affect it fitting into my key, they reassured me that it wouldn't affect it at all and so I trusted them and took their word. When I received them, it did NOT fit as they promised and when I brought it back literally 5 minutes later I waited half an hour for them to bring my key and lug back to tell me they will strip and polish them. So I said okay. As I was driving away I realized I had a finger print on my shift knob and that the bottom had extra drippage and was shape at the bottom. Well as the easy going customer I ignored it. I called back 2 weeks later and they told me they still haven't stripped them and to come in tomorrow morning ... Okay... So I come back in the morning. See the lady and tells me that it's not finished, only stripped. So I ask how long it will take to polish it and she says that they can't polish it because if they do, it won't fit my key... So I look at her... And wonder if she's serious... I'm pretty sure to polish a raw piece of metal you wouldn't mess with the size of it at all... So pissed and tired as I was I left with my raw lug nuts. Words can't describe how I feel towards this business and lady. Would not recommend this place AT ALL. read more

I brought them a set of wheels in horrible shape (3 chrome, 1 not, rattle-canned red, but peeling), and they made them look perfect. Nu-Tec Stripped the chrome, filled in the curb rash, powder-coated them to match a set of center-caps, and coated them in gloss. Slight delay due to the Holiday's, but excellent work, and stand-up people. read more

Came here a month or so ago looking to get some OEM wheels powdercoated. I opted for these guys because they were highly recommended by members of a couple of Mazda forums that I participate in. They didn't let me down. I am very happy with my wheels and especially appreciative of the customer service I received from Josh and Mike. It was super cool that while I was rushing to the shop to drop off my wheels, I had called to see what time they were closing - and to let them know that I was on my way hoping that they wouldn't close shop early on that Friday. Mike took my call and assured me that he would stay at the shop until I got there. Yay! Not only did I arrive to the shop minutes before they were about to close, but I ended also ended up staying over an hour going over color choices with Josh. Poor guy was fishing color swatches out of all sorts of books and other rooms in the shop. I ended up opting for a flat black and Josh advised me that my plastic center caps couldn't be powdercoated so he offered to rattle can (spray paint) them for me. He did and the color match to the powder was perfect. My one complaint: Before I came to pick up my wheels a few days after they were promised, I called to ask if they were ready. I was told by a guy (not Josh or Mike) that they were ready but when I got there, I found out that my center caps weren't painted yet. I ended up having to make an additional trip out to the shop and coming from Long Beach, I wasn't happy about that at all. Not too big of a deal, but it'd be a good idea to confirm that all of your order has been completed before heading to the shop. Overall: these guys know their stuff (sorry, George Y. That sounds pretty lame about the color match. Did you ask them if they could re-do them?) and will gladly work with you to find whatever makes you happy - as long as you're willing to foot the bill for the goods and services. I trust them and would return if I ever had powder coating needs. They did my full set of wheels for $220. read more

Found these guys on an automotive forum when searching for good powder coating shops. They were well regarded so I decided to give them a shot. Dropped off a set of wheels for strip, slight curb rash repair, and powdercoat. Total turnaround time was 3 days for a couple hundred dollars The end result was a nice, glossy, and thick finish. Great find! After buying my old 1974 project jeep. I wanted to powder coat the windshield latches that were extremely rusted. They sand blasted all the rust and made them look better than new! This is the second time I've used their services and have been very happy with them. I had some stools that needed refinishing but the rings on the bottom of the stools needed some care. They were a brass color that had been very tarnished, so badly that cleaning them removed the brass coating from the steel underneath. I decided to take them to Nu-Tech for powder coating, the price of replacement was outrageous. Simple black gloss on 3 rings and I wasn't in a hurry so they could take their time. They blasted them clean and put on a nice black finish to them. I really was happy with the end product. read more

This place is hidden in a side street inside a building complex area. Mike and joe are the main guys to get prices from. They have a receptionist who probably doesn't know everything that has to do with cars but is helpful at times. I've used their services twice and haven't been disappointed. I PC a set of rims and brake calipers. They did a great job on both. If your in a hurry to get your stuff back then this might not be the place you want to go to. Both times I've been there they missed their deadlines but like with any shop, you don't want to rush them so I waited patiently. If you want something done in a timely manner I wouldn't recommend here. They tell you different answers of when things will be done every time you call. 1 week turns to 2 then turns to 3. While they do good work and it's priced alrighty, they should give you an actual answer of when stuff will be done and finish it by then and stand by their word cause we had stuff there for a month and the lady in the front told us next day next day next day for a week straight. read more

I want to share my experience with nu-tech because of how disappointed I am at their work. I had read their yelp reviews and heard good things from friends so I gave them my rims to powdercoat and fix. I wanted to fix the curb rash and powdercoat to the original color that is on my rim(a dark gray/graphite color). Josh took out samples and compared them side by side and told me even with his experience in powdercoating he cannot tell the difference between the sample and my rim. I was like okay I'll do it. 4 days later I come pick up my rims. The curb rash and repairs were done just fine I'm happy with that, but the color came out COMPLETELY wrong...I was in a rush at the time and didn't compare the center cap(which is the original color) to the rim when I picked them up. When I got home I got a better look and realized the color was extremely mismatched. It was supposed to have a shiny graphite color instead it came out to be a matte light gray/primer look. Some of my friends literally asked if my rims are painted with primer. I was like okay it should be fine if I bring them back because they did the wrong batch of powder. When I talked to Josh again, he gave me a bunch of BS about how there is a 3% tolerance in each batch and the color and texture cannot be guaranteed. I had Josh match the sample and rim SIDE BY SIDE and it looked like a perfect match but the result was nothing close. I was shocked, the reason I went to this place was that I heard good reviews about them and thought they could warranty their work. Now I am stuck with a set of rims that literally looked better with the curb rash, everyone just thinks I have primer painted rims. I had a set of wheels done there and Mike was great to deal with. I wanted black but Mike had the exact same metallic black as the paint on my car! I got my wheels back and noticed there was some bubbles where the powder coat didn't stick well and I took them back and he did them again for no charge. They were on my car for over 2 years until I sold the car without any issues. I'm going to bring him the wheels off of my new car to powder coat. Fast and easy....professional service. read more

This is from service I got at least eight years ago but it was so good that I remember it well. Walked in off the street and got a better quote for some big parts than I got from another shop that knew me by name. Turnaround was faster and the quality was every bit as good. Went back two more times with smaller jobs and got the same quality and service. If I still lived down there I'd definitely continue patronizing Nu-Tec. read more

I want to express my frustration. I dropped off a box of parts that needed to be coated about 4 weeks ago. Every time I called I would get the same BS answer from the worthless lady up front. She told me she would call to let me know. After a day or two of no return call I called her and her response was "Well they aren't ready so I haven't called you". Yesterday I had enough and picked up the parts. Got home and realized one part was missing. So I tried to call and come to find out they leave the phone off the hook after 3:30 because they don't have to answer the phone after that time. Really? So I drove back. The worthless lady up front was of no help so I started searching the place by myself for my missing part. After about 30 minutes I found my part in the sandblasting area under a pallet. I would rather pay someone twice as much to have it done on time. read more
