When I…read moregot here, I wanted to support a local credit union and keep my banking in the community, so I joined WECU. Unfortunately, my experience has been incredibly disappointing. Without any notice or explanation, WECU closed my accounts and later told me I'm not allowed to open a new one. No one has contacted me to explain why, or to resolve anything. It went so far that WECU actually contacted my old credit union, and the staff there were so alarmed by what they heard that they personally called me -- asking what was going on, because in decades of experience they had never seen a fellow credit union behave this way. For a member-owned institution that's supposed to stand for fairness, transparency, and community, this experience has felt anything but. I truly hope WECU reconsiders how it treats its members -- especially those of us who chose it because we believe in the credit union philosophy.

Went in to update permanent resident status with I-551 stamp and immigrant visa which serve as…read moreevidence of permanent residency until the physical green card is produced (90-120 days). They wouldn't accept this documentation despite it being a List A document. Showed evidence from USCIS that this document proves status, but Nav and Cassidy insisted it couldn't be done. To make matters worse, Cassidy was unprofessional, cold, and insisted we sign the W8 Ben form which declares that we are non residents and had the old, incorrect address on it. We clearly explained that we are residents and would be misrepresenting ourselves to sign the W8 stating otherwise. She threatened to close the account if we did not sign it, stating that is the only way they can add a SSN to the account as the I-551 does not prove PR status. It is upsetting to be threatened and forced to sign a form that we know to be false. I spoke to the Bank of America customer service online to file a complaint and to make it known and documented that we had been threatened with account closure by not signing this form. The online representative noted this interaction for our protection. Nav Hunjan was friendly and tried to help, ultimately saying he would escalate this to Tyler to get the status updated. I do hope Tyler can make this simple account update happen for us
