Industrial City is such a cool spot to walk around in Brooklyn. The whole place has this artsy, warehouse vibe with lots of food options, small shops, and outdoor space to hang. It's perfect if you just want to wander, try a few different bites, and chill for a bit. This is the second time I come to visit for the hot sauce expo. I got lucky with parking right under the train station. It was Sunday, so it was free! Next time I'll definitely give myself even more time to explore, because I want to visit every shop! read more

Now, there is an eclectic variety of the most wonderful eateries. Here are a few Fawn faves: 1. Burger Joint: my newest obsession. The impossible burger is out of this world. Don't let the name fool you; these burgers put the Capital G in gourmet. Is it possible for an impossible burger to be heavenly? Yup! 2. Table 87: put that frozen Table 87 pizza back in the freezer, leave grocery and proceed to Table 87 in IC. The pizza is fresh and the dough is flying..The mushroom slices are out of this world! 3. Japan Village: I still have to dine inside but the California Roll to go is always fresh and delicious. Sunrise Mart inside JV carries the most delicious frozen treats, pocki, earthenware, fresh fish and more! 4 .Sahadi's: Breakfast Saj Sandwich is a Fawn Fave that consists of Eggs, Grilled Halloumi, Harissa Aioli, Greens, Arugula salad.. scrumptious! Brunch served Saturday and Sunday 11-3. 5. Taco Mix: taqueria serving scrumptious tacos, I love the street tacos. B. Shopping: Here's a few Fawn faves: West Elm outlet was the big draw for me when I started patronizing IC. The rugs and home decor have been schlepped from IC to Bay Ridge time and time again! The service is outstanding and WE was so popular it left Building 2 and relocated to s bigger beautiful space. Brooklyn Candle: attended an Elite Event this past winter and the variety of candles and scents are amazing! I purchased the Brooklyn and Maui scented candles and they smell out of this world. Daiso Daiso offers a one-stop-shop experience with over 100,000 products ranging from Japanese-inspired home decor to stationery and food. The offerings are plentiful and the service is very friendly. C. Special Events: IC has a monthly calendar that features a wide range of events to attend. From pub crawls, karaoke, pottery and crafts, you can find a plethora of activities and events to participate. Sahadi's in the past would host mini live concerts in their Al fresco dining area. Its made up of 4 large buildings the only down side if the weather is not good there are no coverings between the buildings or the courtyards. Overall a great place to explore. The onigiri stand at the food court is godly. Never ever have i been disappointed, service is super straightforward, simple and SUPER quick, Less than a minute. Industry City is an enclave of restaurants, bars, shops, and events. One event I won't miss is the annual NYC Hot Sauce Expo. For the last several years, it found its home here. I arrived late afternoon with my hot sauce partner and we scoped the area in no time, racking up purchases from various exhibitors Unfortunately, the Expo this year was reduced to just one day instead of an entire weekend. It was really crowded with, appropriately, heavy metal music playing . Tastings were either via a teeny spoon or nacho chip. All beverages were additional and food was available outside the Expo space. Many hot sauces had a show discount if you buy more than one. There were contests held on the main stage but I didn't stick around to watch. The Expo will wrap up in a few hours so if you didn't catch it today, there's always next year. Some friends and I met to attend the Brooklyn night Market. I was shocked when I arrived and checked out all the stores and restaurants inside this venue. We walked through all three sections of the venue and checked out some of the stores. They had a cool spot with all Brooklyn merchandise. We checked out the supermarket, Sunrise mart that had some unique products and was a bit costly. The decor inside the venue was cool and holiday ready. They had alot of areas where you can sit and chill. We attended the outside festival of local vendors selling food, drinks and desserts. They had a DJ who playing some cool old school hip hop, r&b and reggae. When we first arrived it wasn't too crowded. By the time we were leaving it was jam packed. Each of ordered food from didifferent vendors and then went inside to eat. The ouside night Market festival ended until next summer. However, you can still definitely come check out this venue and chill with friends and enjoy some of the restaurants and stores they have inside. read more

Industry City looks very modern and industrial. There are 10 buildings that make up Industry City! Been here a couple of times to check out some dining spots like Table 87, Just Eat Burger, West Elm Outlet, Japan Village, and many more stores on the first level. The cool thing about this place is that you can cross from building to building and in between buildings, there are events going on and are furnished with different themes depending on the event. There's outdoor seating and nice themes for pictures! Good thing about this place is that there are bathrooms all around you just in case you need to go and seating everywhere. Industry City is a complex of buildings with numerous stores and some restaurants. It has numerous options of things to do including an arcade and the Japanese Village. The Japanese Village isn't too big; it's on the 2nd floor of its building and for what it is, it's got charm. There's a cool comic shop, a Japanese grocery store, ice cream shop, a souvenir shop selling work by local artists and more. Industry City has a very nice layout and everything is pretty accessible. Came here to building 5 for the Brooklyn Tequila Fest. I love that this place is evolving and expanding. Nice and chilled place to hang out during the day or night. Me and some other guest were lost trying to find this event space. There's not much direction given to find where you need to go. As I was lost, I was able to see a lot of stores and restaurants that are located in the building. The Tequila Fest was good. There was a nice crowd with plenty of vendors on sight. They had a live Dj playing a good mix of music. At the Tequila Fest you were able to try all types of liquor, wine and spirits along with cheese samples. There were food vendors on sight, cigars and even vendors selling CBD edibles for those who are into that. Overall it was a nice experience. I will suggest to have more tequila vendors next time since it is a tequila fest. read more

Industry always amazes me with decor and fun new things they have. I wish though they would have an amazing sit down beautiful restaurant. They have just take and go places to eat! This time we went they were all decorated for Christmas. It was warm and cozy everywhere you went. We stopped at a beautiful wine store with the most amazing owner. On this day he was featuring a wine tasting with the gentleman who makes the wine. We then headed to a candle place which had beautiful made candles. We also stopped at the bbq places for some dinner and then up to ft Hamilton distillery for a cocktail. We also went to a featured museum of Michelangelo the Sistine Chapel. Very cool place in the middle of a very urban/industrial environment. Had a lot of great places to eat and good stores to accompany them. The concept is well-done and best of all, it's not overly crowded. Can certainly spend a few hours there easily. Paid street parking is also readily available, so it's convenient. This review is long overdue lol but catching up on my drafts lol I went to a hot sauce expo at industry city one of the coolest places ever in the city when I tell you it's like a maze lol it took forever to find the exact space the event was held in but it was super cool because the entire wall you get to see cool restaurants and shops that are very unique. The expo was amazing and one of a kind, they have a Korean market that you have to check out as well as a really cool pizza shop it's so much can't mention all of it but one of my fave parts was Indeed the wine bar, great tasting wine and the workers were on point with the wine knowledge. I love food halls and large venue spaces with multiple vendors and just doing touristy things. I took the subway to get here so I have no idea how parking works. There's lots of mini shops, tons of eateries, cool brewery spots, furniture stores and even a Japanese supermarket. There's a row of sparkling doorways with matching disco balls in the center of the courtyard. Cute photo opportunity. Located by the BQE, Industry City has buildings on a few street blocks but have been to just 3 of them. Street/meter parking in the area (better on Sundays/holidays when meters are free) It's a nice place to walk around in for a mix of indoors and outdoors time. There are a lot of eateries, stores and businesses/working offices. Each of the blocks I've been to has a courtyard- few sitting areas, a music venue, play areas - one which is an ice rink at this time. Many restrooms available. On one block is Japan Village, which we frequent- 2 floors, has a grocery, Japanese food court/stalls, and stores like Bookoff and Daiso, etc. We like Ramen Setagaya for their black garlic ramen. Hit and miss with Shokusaido and Moriya - katsus are small, fries with beef and toppings were good but the beef curry was so-so. Good to go here especially when they have events/special holidays-have been to a few of them. We were in the area on New Year's day so we got lunch there. The place was still festive with holiday decorations but most of the businesses were closed. Gave my sister a 60th bday party at the Five-Two -A event space. The staff was so accommodating and helpful throughout the event planning process. Answered all questions, gave recommendations and offered solutions. Everyone from the faculty coordinator and cleaning staff the day of the event. Everyone we dealt with from the moment we went into contract to clean up at the end off the event was great to work with. I highly recommend this event space. The views are just amazing. Parking isn't the best but there are subway stations near by and a paid parking lot at 35th and 2nd. Security provided with event contract can be a little bit more proactive as we had a few individuals come into the event without our knowledge but all in all they security off made sure to follow my guidelines on who can be allowed into our event. read more

Wow the 6 million square feet how many stores and food places and then Use and game rooms are so much fun to explore. Although there are several positive reviews of Industry City, I must say that I don't find it incredibly fascinating. Although the space is nice and clean with various restaurants and activities, I think it's overhyped. It's difficult to find certain businesses due to having to go upstairs and search for hidden restaurants. It looks like day parties happen here from time to time which is nice but not a large capacity of people cab be accommodated. Industry City is a place where people who live nearby can take advantage. When Jamie W. and I took the D train to Sunset Park, our intent was to visit just Japan Village. We had no idea it was part of a huge commercial complex of sixteen huge warehouse buildings spread over a 35-acre site. Built at the end of the 19th century, apparently over 80% of the space has been currently leased. Pretty impressive for the post-pandemic economy. Japan Village was a good introduction (review: https://bit.ly/3hApg1a) because as we exited the food/market complex, we were impressed with the deep courtyards that separate the buildings. They provide not only a lot of seating options but an open space for local artists. We explored the food hall in the building next to Japan Village where we ate pretty healthy at Avocaderia (review: https://bit.ly/3G9aAR0). We walked down Innovation Alley which connects the buildings and found ourselves browsing in a diverse array of retail shops selling everything from vintage comic books to high-end chocolates (photo: https://bit.ly/3NZd4mX). If, like me, you love old buildings given new life, go visit Industry City in Sunset Park. Part of it anyway, as it's vast -- 16 buildings across 35 acres of repurposed industrial space. In the 1890s, this area was known as Bush Terminal, and was a major international seaport before being used as a navy base during WWI. Around the 1950s the terminal's buildings became one of the first industrial parks in the country, and began to be advertised as Industry City. In 2013, a $450 million redevelopment project turned it into today's manufacturing, office, and commercial complex. I didn't know what to expect, but ended up really enjoying this place! So colorful and lively, with many stores to explore, art to discover, music to hear, food and beverage places to try. Every step around the corner or up the stairs took you to something new. There seems to be special events scheduled regularly also, like various music bands, fashions shows and such. It's a lot to take in, and can be quite overwhelming. Industry City is like the mall that I never got to hang out in high school since that is what tv made me think my teenage life would be like...but unfortunately, there weren't any near me at the time. Now I'm a grown-up with a daughter who has somewhere nearby with variety of shops, bakeries, and activities thanks to Industry City. Depending on the time and day, you get to listen to free live salsa music or jazz music or play mini-golf with the kids. If you're hungry, you can order Japanese food at the Japan Village, pizza at Table 87, or a burger at the Burger Joint. Then you can check out the comic books at St. Mark's Comic Book Store or take pictures in front of their latest seasonal displays. There is so much to do here that you could spend the whole day there and wouldn't get bored. I have created so many experiences here with my daughter from attending their kids concerts, Halloween events, and many other activities. It is a great spot to spend with the family. read more

It is easily accessible via the D, N, and R train to the 36th Street Station in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn. Having visited Industry City numerous times I can mention that Barrows Intense makes a great cocktail and the Burger Joint has fantastic burgers and fries. Frying Pan makes a good taco. Industry City restroom facilities have always been cleanwhen I have used them. There is always plenty or spaces to walk through and to sit around if you just want to telax and enjoy the view. They also have a Hatchet Throwing Place and an Arcade. I have also visited Industry City to see bands perform live music, to participate in dance classes, to attend a Tarot Reading / Drawing Workshop. The Yi Gallery on one of the upper floors is a fantastic art gallery w/ lovely artwork. Industry has inside and outside dining/ lounging areas and space putdoor playing space for the children to enjoy. Signature Spaces and Seasonal Spaces are there if one wants to rent these out for private events. Today after work, I went to Industry City with a few friends. We've been visiting ever since the complex first opened. We stopped at Sahadi's, picked up a few things to eat, and sat outside by the fire to enjoy our food. When it started to get chilly, we moved indoors and walked over to the Makers Guild. After browsing a few shops, one of us needed to use the restroom. I remembered that there were two restrooms on that floor to the right of the barbershop. As we looked for them, we noticed there were no signs anywhere--no indications of restrooms, employees-only areas, or anything similar--and the walls looked freshly painted. I pushed on one of the doors, which was unlocked and wide open, and discovered a bathroom inside. My friend and I went in, assuming it was a public restroom since nothing suggested otherwise. While we were in the restroom, a man suddenly pushed the door open and asked, "Excuse me, are you one of the shop owners? This is for shop owners only--and this is a men's bathroom." There had been absolutely no signs or locks to let us know that it was restricted, and we genuinely had no idea. What shocked us even more was the man's tone. He was extremely rude and condescending. For context, I am a woman in my 50s and my friend is in her 60s. The man was significantly younger and spoke to us in a way that was dismissive, entitled, and completely unprofessional. As we were leaving, he even added a comment implying he didn't like women--something that left us stunned. Later, we learned that he was one of the owners of a shop called William Storms (Billy is the owner) located in Industry City. As longtime New Yorkers--I've lived in Park Slope for 35 years--and as people who have supported Industry City from the very beginning, we were genuinely blindsided by such disrespectful behavior. This incident was deeply disappointing. It does not represent the New York I know, nor the welcoming environment Industry City usually strives for. I've quickly fallen in love with this place! Industry city is a constellation of multiple, huge industrial buildings full of shops, restaurants, bars, and artisans. There are also groceries, bakeries, and shops that specialize in everything you could imagine: exotic carpets, home goods, art, vintage goods, skin care products, vinyl records, clothing, and more! There are murals and decorations and several fun, diverse communal spaces that are decorated in a cool way, often seasonally. This is a real gathering place! this is a very cool place to absorb the location. The staff is very nice and the food is lovely. It's definitely not cheap, but you get what you pay for. You got two orders of the lamb lollipops. There's only two in each order. They are delicious. We got a Pizza with sopressada. and hot honey. it was really yummy. I would've liked for the crust to be a little bit more crispy. my friend got the soup which was delicious. I don't remember what was called. And then we got this dish that had a really delicious broth half a lobster tail shrimp, mussels, fish. It came with one Cristini. I thought that was ridiculous. It needs a lot more than one Cristini for that delicious broth. and I asked for more and they gave me a basket of bread that was not what I really wanted. Let me start off with, this place is SO CUTE! A really nice place to spend a day walking around older warehouse buildings that have been converted to a modern little shopping plaza for everyone to enjoy. But I MUST SAY, you **have to take note of the hours**. This place would be so much more successful if things opened past 5pm. The whole food hall basically closes at 5pm. The restaurants that say they close at 6pm actually start closing by 5:30pm. Point taken when I tried ordering from the Korean spot and they told us they were closing when it wasn't even their closing time. I don't understand why any of these places wouldn't at least have summer hours because people really started rolling in around then. Huge loss of business. There was Thai, Korean, Indian, Mexican, and Kebab at the food hall but they were all closing up shop or already closed by 5-5:15pm. All retail shops like the cute plant shops, furniture outlets, small businesses, and etc. basically close at 5pm too which was a bummer considering we got there around 4pm and within an hour we maybe made it halfway through the buildings by zooming to where we wanted to be. I gotta say, lots of people showed up after 5pm and we all decided to take refuge at Japan Village where thankfully everything closes at 7pm. We were able to grab snacks, dinner, and walk through Daiso and other small shops there. I feel like this place has so much potential! There should 100% be more foot traffic here, and I feel like marketing and hours should really be fixed and patched up. Maybe some events hosted here would boost up the foot traffic as well. So if you plan to come visit, please come early and don't plan to do dinner here unless you want dinner at Japan Village! I highly recommend the onigiri cause they were yummy - my favorite was the spicy tuna mayo. I also enjoyed the mentaiko cream udon from the udon shop, the portion wasn't that big bur the flavor was rich and there were a lot of little mentaiko eggs!! read more

Industry city has grown over the years and there are a lot more food and entertainment options now than in the past. Stopped in this past weekend for the hot sauce festival, stayed for some shopping and eating at Japan Village. This was my first time trying the ramen, and it was good! The chashu was succulent and flavorful, the noodles and egg were prepared to my liking. It was fun to look around Daiso and to play the claw games (didn't win anything though-- darn!). I'm interested to check out the origami shop sometime, but it was closed when I went. Plenty of clean bathrooms and lots of areas for people to sit and relax or for children to play. Trust me, make an afternoon of it and go here. Tons of food choices, and oddly for Brooklyn, no one was serving attitude at any of the shops. I almost forgot I was in NY. Very customer service oriented. Notables: coal oven pizza, Li lac chocolate shop. I specifically came for the Morbid Anatomy Museum (see their website for hours, since they aren't open to the public every weekend). The small library is full of reference books, of the interesting, morbid, and creepy. Everything for the goth mindset. It's not a lending library, but you can sit at the table and peruse all sorts of gems. I specifically came for out of print books on Victorian mourning jewelery and hairwork. The docents are very nice, and the library is filled with all sorts of oddities (see pix). They have a gift shop and classes, you can become a patreon, or you can watch some free online lectures. I'd recommend signing up for their weekly emails and you can pick and choose. (classes are expensive though). So much fun. If you're feeling ghoulish, on the way back to the N train, take a detour and stroll through Green-Wood Cemetary. There's an entrance near 36th St. N, you can grab a map or just walk leftish to the main gate and take the 25th St. stop when you leave the drive. read more

A hidden gem! From the outside, this place looks like literally nothing. Some buildings with streets in between. In fact, when I was invited here I thought I showed up at the wrong place. However, upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised. Industry City is so dang cute! I love the decor and the idea of having a lively outdoor space between two buildings. My only complaint is how early everything closes. We came at 8pm on a Saturday and the place was dead. Almost every business was already closed except a bar who was having a party because they were about to get kicked out of the space. With such a beautiful outdoor space, I wish there was more nightlife! read more
