They have tables for small or larger parties. One scary moment was when the police were looking for someone. I was startled when I walked out of the ladies room and they almost ran into me because they were on the hunt for someone. I hope they caught the person and I hope everyone is safe. Definitely a spot we'll return to in the future. Inside an indoor mall with a Trader Joe's and Target inside. It was definitely busy and people camped out at tables so finding a spot to sit can be hard. And, if you have no sense of direction, like me, it's easy to get turned around. That being said, I had one of the best Korean fried chicken sandwiches ever. My wife opted for a beef noodle bowl with kimchi which was also good. We had a show at the Brooklyn Paramount and needed a spot to have dinner before the show. Doors open for VIP at 5:30PM so it had to be an early / fast dinner. I don't spend a lot of time in Brooklyn, so I actually had no idea that the Dekalb Market Hall was a thing until I started zooming in/out on Google Maps. This sounded like the best idea for our group of 4 - we could all get whatever we wanted to eat without having to compromise on one cuisine! Jokes on us, 3/4 of us ended up getting food at Hainan Jones. I had a grilled chicken bowl from Wiki Wiki and we also had boba from Tea Makers. Everything at Hainan Jones was great. The bowl at Wiki Wiki was really good. The boba was just fine. You really can't go wrong with Dekalb Market Hall, there are literally so many options. I'm not the most adventurous Dekalber as I often revisit the classics. Hana Noodle Station is my favorite; try the crushed cucumber with garlic but proceed slowly and with a nearby beverage. Spicy Hobo Noodles at Thank You Come Again are among the better incendiary options. I enjoyed my time here at this market. Its not overly saturated with stalls, but there are just enough of each type of cuisine, making it so there is something for everyone. There was live band music playing when I arrived which had me excited. I ordered from several stalls and was able to stay for several hours while I stuffed my face. It is located in a basement adjoining another shopping complex called City Point. Yes, there is a Trader Joe's in the lower level. There are elevators for ADA accessible and inside the elevator there is a directory listing of business names in alphabet order. It appears very modern. It contains emerging vendors and established business names. Patrons can wander throughout this food court/hall before deciding on your choice for lunch/dinner followed by bubble tea, or snack then beer and completing at day's end grocery shopping at Trader's Joe or Target. Hunger pangs end at Dekalb Market Hall. This food court/hall is accessible via MTA NYC Transit A train at Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets station or Jay St-MetroTech station. Either subway station requires a twelve (12) minute walk as it was a trek in the bitter cold. Price is exorbitant, but expected average in 2025 inflation/tariff era. read more

Not only can you find some delicious bites to eat but they have other stores that not food you can also shop in. Of course I came for the food court but I didn't purchase anything yet, because of the overwhelming amount of options. I will come another time and give a better review. For now I would say if you haven't been definitely brace yourself because you will want to get some of everything. I ordered the strawberry short cake on a cone and it was MASSIVE. Enough for 2 people to share for sure and it was delicious! This place has drawn me in because of its former tenant Albee Square Mall which was my local hang out in my teen years. Albee Square Mall slowly diminished and eventually vanished. That closing re-birthed into City Point which now occupies Dekalb Market Hall. All that rich history is why I understand how culture, diversity, and good food collaborates in the center of Downtown Brooklyn to create this space. I love it. There's a vibrant crowd of patrons usually gently competing for a table for 45 minute lunch or more, a quiet space to sit and unwind. There's so many places to eat here, the classic New York City Katz's Delicatessen's from the lower east side of Manhattan serving those famed deli sandwiches, Harlem Seafood Soul bringing soul and seafood in harmony to Brooklyn, or new school (all over the news outlets) favorite Caribbean food, Fat Fowl. It doesn't stop with food. They have activities for children, Latin Thursdays, (Latin music and dance every Thursday night. All levels of dance come out to learn and move with the music), and finally Friday DJ giving great music and so much more. It's friendly. It's safe. Come see it for yourself. All major transportation stops here (it's Downtown BK ALL transportation flows thru here, LIRR, ferry service are within walking distance), and it's NYC so super expensive parking is everywhere, unless your feeling lucky and you want to spend your evening seeking street parking (good luck). read more

I went to the first Dekalb Market Hall Night Market event and had a blast! It starts at 9pm and it's family friendly so I was able to bring my 11 year old daughter along with my parents and sister. They had a dj and most of the food vendors were open with special rates for certain food items. Everybody was giving it out positive vibes and even though drinks were being served, it was a wholesome good night. At one point, my sister, dad, and I wandered into one of the restaurants that had a whole different dance floor from the main floor and we just started dancing in a circle with random people. After that, we got thirsty and hungry so we walked around to see what our many food options were. We ended up going with bubble tea and arepas. The bubble tea came in the cutest teddy bear shaped bottle with its own winter scarf. The arepa I got was $5, which was their special rate for the night. This is a nice upscale food hall located below a mall. I find it to be a bit cramped compared to some of the other fancier food halls but I would say that the general food selection here is more similar to the now closed Market Line or the excellent The Hugh in Midtown East and certainly better than the various locations of UrbanSpace. I've stopped here a handful of times usually after going to a movie upstairs. I would recommend BK Jani and much less The Showroom Bakehouse. They have among other things notably the only other location of Katz's which automatically makes this place the best Jewish deli space around (yes I put this place over Mile End, sue me.) It's nice but expect big crowds especially in the evenings of course. They have a good mix. read more

If you are into food courts this place is A#1. A wide variety of foods to choose from in a very expansive area. Not exactly what I like since I've become more sensitive to large crowds and noise. We did find an oasis in the Somethin' Else Cocktail Bar and they allow you to bring in food as long as you are have a few drinks. The bartender suggested Teppan Territory- A modern take on Japanese teppanyaki-style street food, similar to hibachi and he was right, this place has great favored food. I enjoyed the vibe. This place is LARGE! I almost got lost finding my way through this maze of vendors. The variation here is as extensive as that of the Urban Hawker in NYC though that food hall is more organized since it's mainly a straight line there. This spot is more of a square of sectioned different spots and if you don't have an idea of what you want here, you'll be wandering here for some time like I was. Eventually I settled on a Teriyaki spot (which will have its own review). You'll love the scent of the place as you can smell the many different aromas of certain vendors and the food that they make, it's almost overwhelming. DeKalb Pizzeria is the blue Dekalb Market Hall stall across from 100% Mr Lin's, next to Trader Joe's. They took over Forcella's spot. DeKalb Pizzeria slices are NYC standard, not too thin, good for folding, with fresh cheese, a chewy-crisp crust, and solid tomato sauce. At about $4 a slice, it is also one of the few cheap eats in the Hall, and elevates a standard slice to a winner. (Other cheap yet filling eats in the hall would include the beef patty at Likkle Jerk, anything at Mr Lin's, a pita sandwich at Hummus Inc, and the slider kebab at Kotti). Staff are friendly, work hard, and pizzas are warm and toasty. Prices are excellent. read more
