My 7 yo son has been attending Industry Gymnastics and we're very fortunate to have this facility in our neighborhood. He's done classes for 3 years now, summer camp, and some clinics or day camps. His different coaches (Tony, Jackie, DJ and Tyler) have always been supportive - so, special thanks to them ! We're very excited for him to move up to Jaguars in the Fall. We let him choose every single session if he wants to continue, and he has never hesitated to say yes. I have also done the baby classes with my youngest and it was really sweet and fun (coach Maria era!). I can't wait for my daughter to be old enough to join back in Saturday classes, as these start at 3. Signup can be a bit stressful as there are more families interested than spots, especially on Saturdays, but we've succeeded every year since we wanted to enroll, by being quick and efficient at Registration start time. It also gets easier as the kids grow up. And of course, the registration priority during the year is key, making it smooth and easy 2/3 of the time. During camps, the recent addition of aftercare until 5 pm has been a nice option. They're very responsive in case of anything needed. Last but not least, I particularly like their inclusiveness and positive messages, it's great to expose our kids to these early on and I'm glad they do that. EDITED FOR RESPONSE: To the owner, there is no need to keep bringing up how you are a small business. I am a mom who works hard to keep food on the table for my kids, but I don't bring that up constantly in conversations. Can you please clarify how your policy of refusing to refund in situations where credit cannot be applied is beneficial for anybody else except your business? Regarding the skill clinic, the age is not an issue as you made it very clear that you won't allow credit to be used for it. So even if my child is 5 months older and becomes 5, you will bend the policy to allow me to use the credit for skill clinics? Please explain, how the policy benefits your customers when you refuse to even allow me to let my friend use this credit since you won't let me use it due to age. Your policy benefits you and only you, it seems. REVIEW: Due to my new job and its demand of working in the office, I couldn't work remotely anymore and I couldn't drop my kid off for the class she signed up for. Their weekend classes were full. But I accepted a credit from them thinking I could use it on something else. I later found out that the credit couldn't be used for the weekend skill workshops. They explained that classes and skill workshops are 2 different systems, so the credit can't be used for all. It doesn't make any sense that a merchant would issue a credit that doesn't work on all of their products. That is not a credit then, is it? They want me to wait until next semester to use the credit on weekend classes if there are spots. They also want me to use the credit for their camps or holiday daycare. I told them I couldn't use that because my kid would be spending holidays with family. And I don't want to wait until next semester. At this point, I asked can I at least give this credit to my friend since I couldn't even use it. They said no. In all their responses, they cited that as their policy. No warmth, no understanding, no help. I am so disappointed at how extremely inflexible and unwilling to help this place is. When I switched my kid's extracurriculars to the weekends due to my job, all the other places were so helpful and flexible with me. I do NOT recommend this place. read more

My daughter started gymnastics here in April 2021, I noticed the woman at the door was checking the children's mouths inside with no background in the medical field. I asked the owner about this policy and she offered a refund. With covid rules being confusing and having to make decisions as a family, within two weeks we decided that this wasn't for us. 5/10 classes remaining I requested a refund for half. They agreed to credit me back, however they didn't mention it was a "in house credit" I assumed it was a credit to my account, honoring our prior conversation for a refund. NEVER did I agree and say great thanks to an in-house credit, I said thanks to a credit of $190 and based off our prior conversation I assumed it was to my original payment method. (See photo added) This company stole my money for the remaining classes and has created such an uncomfortable environment since the first day that I never want to go back. It's a shame how a business can keep someone's money without providing the service. My refund aside, they neglect the students that are new to gymnastics and leave them aimlessly jumping on trampolines while they work with the more experienced gymnast. read more

My daughter has been taking gymnastics here for almost 5 years! It is practically her second home! She would rather be here than anywhere else--which is a good thing because she is there a lot!! Coach Kelley Shaw is the perfect of combination of discipline, hard work, fun and kindness. It has been a pleasure to see how my daughter has grown as a gymnast under Coach Kelley. My girl loves the hard work, though sometimes it's tough. They certainly don't "baby" these young athletes, though they are sensitive to their feelings and needs. When I drop my daughter off for team practice, I am confident that she is working her tail off and that she is in excellent hands. My daughter has been taking gymnastics here for a few years now and it is second home to her. She loves going and has gotten strong since. The owners, staff and coaches are wonderful. Truly caring and experienced. It's clear they all love what they do. During Covid, we chose 3 weeks of camp and it was the best decision we made this summer. The gym took their health and safety protocols very seriously. E.g. - daily screenings with temperature checks upon arrival, thorough hand washing before and after every activity. According to my daughter, the gym was soooo clean, they disinfected constantly and made sure the kids kept at least 6 ft apart. She always felt safe and we all forgot that we are in a national pandemic. It gave her a sense of routine, structure and normalcy and most importantly, she had fun. My kids just finished up another week of summer camp at Industry, and they had such a blast! They came home each day excited to talk about what they did at camp, which coach made them laugh, and how they would love to do camp again next summer. I'm so grateful that my kids have had a fun and SAFE summer experience. The staff take safety protocols very seriously, and I dropped them off each day knowing that they were in good hands -- their masks would always be worn except when eating and drinking, and staff and all eligible students would be fully vaccinated in accordance with the state's guidance. My daughter has been attending the Cubs classes for 3 semesters. She had Coach Trent for the first semester (when she started at age 17 months) and Coach Sara currently. Both coaches are so patient and supportive, and they make sure to give each child individualized attention. My daughter absolutely loves Coach Sara and talks about her at home too! read more

My son has been taking classes here since he was 18 months old. He is now almost 4 and he is still in the classes. His instructor Coach Joe is amazing and has helped my son with his technique and confidence in gymnastics. I also like the fact that they have professional equipment for the children. We had other classes which were more like baby gymnastics. Here he is able to learn how to use each apparatus. This place is an absolute ripoff the people working there especially behind the counters are absolutely rude and this place is all about taking your money without giving any good services. I had the worst experience I have heard the teachers and the person behind the front desk constantly bitching the parents and the kids out. Training is so fake and all they care about is how they can take your money the services awful the place is awful the teachers are awful there are much better places to train in New York for gymnastics but my recommendation is stay away from LIC gymnastics Whatever Natalie!!! LIC Kids is a play space that offers classes, open play, birthday parties, a morning program for 2's and 3's, an afternoon program for school-age kids, and a summer camp. The space has one large gym area with tons of mats and all the usual gymnastics equipment, and one classroom. The gymnastics equipment is re-arranged every week to keep things interesting for the kids. There's also a reception area and a seating area in between the gym and the classroom with a bunch of cubbies for shoes. James, the gymnastics teacher, is AMAZING. My daughter took the 2-year-old Saturday class for all of last fall and winter. Class begins with open play, then there's a whole-group warm up, then a smaller-groups obstacle course, and then a solo exercise, like a tumble, then more playing around and finally bubbles to finish the class. James manages to keep everyone engaged, tailors the class for individual kids' levels, and is funny and nice to boot. I can't recommend the class highly enough. The cost is about $495 for an 18-week semester, or $27.50 per class, and comes with 18 free open plays as well. We also hosted our daughter's birthday party at LIC Kids. The kids all had a great time, even though the instructor wasn't James. :-) The party was easy for us to plan and organize, we basically just brought paper goods and we ordered some bagels for the grownups from Bricktown. The playtime was in the gym, and bagels and cupcakes were in the classroom. The staff were very helpful about getting everything set up. LIC Kids is a couple blocks from the 7 train, easily accessible for birthday party guests coming in from the city as long as the 7 train is running!! read more

Came here for a function a while back...it was a bit of a surprise how the staff seemed to be on top of things. The gym area was sizeable, and you wouldn't have guessed it was a gym the way they fixed it up. On talking with them, I found out that they offer a slew of different classes for young children, and they even have a 'free-play' session where kids can basically go bonkers and tucker themselves out. Makes for a good parenting night. Outside of the gym area, they do have a separate classroom-styled space. Nice option for a steadily rising area. read more

My girls love this place. I wish the space had a bigger waiting area. Between the inavailable street parking and the too small waiting area ... It's an annoying experience for the parent. Not so for my girls. They happily go to their classes and want more. So I'm here a few times a week! Teachers are nice and admin is accommodating. Just finished a series with Coach Trent with my 21 year old daughter and it was amazing! The classes are well organized and you don't spend too much time on an activity so the littles get to pay attention and actually learn gymnastics. I took my toddler to a trial gymnastics class and LOVED the teacher, James. He is incredibly positive, energetic& reinforcing. We will certainly be returning. The class itself is a great combination of free play, running, gymnastics, bubbles& music. A very fun 45 minute class. The average price per class is about $30. When we first got there, the lady at the front desk did not greet us, nor smile or welcome us in anyway. So initially I was hesitant but I'm glad we stayed. I later found out she is the owner, Irina. The place is on the small side but it is sufficient enough for toddlers& parents. The room is covered in mats& colorful age appropriate gym equipment. The trampoline is a big hit. I did notice some metal bars protruding from the bottom of some of the equipment which should be covered for safety reasons. This place is definitely worth a try if you're looking for kid's classes. read more

We have been so happy with the progress our children have made during the semester. Watching my daughter find the courage to overcome some of the balance beams fears she had has really made me proud. My son, who didn't want to do gymnastics initially, now loves it and has asked to continue next semester. Industry Gymnastics, where my daughter has taken gymnastics classes for 2 years now, is an accepting, body-positive gymnastics studio. They promote healthy bodies, perseverance, and self-esteem but do not push kids past their limits. This is not a studio where promotion to advanced levels is expected. If that's your goal, they will support you but it's not a competitive environment. My daughter says "The coaches there are all very nice and welcoming". Coach Jackie and Coach Lou are both super friendly and always keep the gymnasts safe. My daughter has fun every week, gets great exercise, and is becoming a great gymnast. read more

My 8-year-old daughter has been loving her first year of gymnastics with LIC Kids. Coach Jackie has made this experience fun AND educational for my child. Coaches use an online system to report skill development, and they end each seasonal session with a short ceremony to mark students' accomplishments. Personally, I'd like more substantive, face-to-face feedback and an explanation of how my child could achieve her higher goals in gymnastics, as she's interested in one-day being on the competitive team, but perhaps this sort of check-box reporting is typical for the first year of the sport. This is the absolute best gym for kids in the city. My son is NO fan of any type of sports or athletics but he LOVES going to Coach Tony's class on Saturdays. I absolutely love this place! My daughter (3 yr) is very active and flexible. I had read about gymnastics helping kids with their balance and straightening out feet so I said let's give it a try. I have never seen my daughter more happy any morning than when she has gymnastics. She wakes up on her own and asks me if she has class. Her feet are no longer inward don't know if this is in fact cus of gymnastics but she's just built up her strength so much! She holds herself up and her arms and legs look so full it's cute to see and watch her enjoy class. The entire staff is super friendly and accommodating. Her coach , coach Trent is sweet, nice and patient. what I found really wonderful is I would hear him speak to Ava in Spanish, as that is her first language. Small commands when she wouldn't quite understand everything. Simple small gestures like that show that someone truly cares about my daughter being able to learn.
