There was so much to do that I didn't need to hire a face painter, a musician or anything else to make this party absolutely stellar. The kids ranging from 1 to 7 years old had a great time. The staff were friendly and engaging of the kids while on the mats. Off the mats, I supplied the pizza, drinks, cake, etc which worked out okay. My complaint was that I had reserved the place with 50 kids in mind which usually requires extra staff and I felt like the amount of staff they had to help when off the mats was not enough...they weren't great about handing out pizza and cake/cupcakes and helping the kids find a seat...they didn't even have enough seats set up for all of the kids that I had reserved for...so, that is why I'm not giving them a perfect score...if they were better with helping the food end of things which is part of their party responsibilities, I would have given a perfect rating. I would book a party here again...it was perfect for this age group and definitely perfect for older kids...well worth the price charged for NYC prices...but book early as they fill every party slot months in advance.

They make sure the birthday child feels special. Allowing them to win musical mats, laying on top of the blow-up castle and swinging twice. I took one of their strength & conditioning classes on a Monday at 12pm, and the only one there - which was great for me, since I probably would've slowed the rest of the class down! Patricia was a FANTASTIC instructor. I shared with her my major non-athleticism, and she made adjustments as needed throughout the workout. She was very encouraging, talkative, and helped me make adjustments when needed. I got a great workout in - that I could feel for several days afterward lol - and felt stronger. He goes to school in the neighborhood which made it convenient for me and the other parents. With all of the great places to choose in NYC I would say avoid NYC Elite at all costs. The pool was divided into specific areas for fast, medium, and slow swim speeds. Also, there is another section for people who want to do other activities like water aerobics. The other swimmers seemed to be aware of their swim speed and assigned themselves accordingly. Be aware that no one under the age of 18 (even with an adult) is allowed in the pool during these hours. Upon arriving the "security guard" who sits on the deck was super intense. He yelled at me for having my phone and book bag on the deck. Here's the thing. For this swimming program, I needed to show the program's coordinator/supervisor that I registered for the program. One can either print the confirmation form or show the supervisor your phone. I tried to explain this to the "security guard", but he seemed to be too drunk on power. Other than that, I had a nice swim. The locker room is pretty barebones, but it does have plenty of lockers where you can store things.

There has been a turn over in coaches over the years, but everyone that has been brought on has added new value to the team and brought a fun energy. I have noticed the workouts aren't as intense as they used to be, or I have just gotten used to them, but no matter what I leave feeling like I've gotten a good workout. The gym is small, but they have made fantastic use of the space and have all the equipment you need to run a HIIT class functionally. They also do personal training upstairs and all of the coaches are kind, knowledgeable and fun. They offer classes throughout the day so you can usually find one to work with your schedule. Scheduling can be done easily through the MindBody app. The gym runs promos so always check in to find a good deal!
