I was looking for something to do with my oldest daughter when she was 2.5yo and I found a dance class at Royalenova. I was shocked after a few classes when I saw on the video monitor that the kids were lined up dancing perfectly like little dolls! And my highly active, spirited, girl loved it... she did recreational classes until this, her first year of competing at 7yo. Both the recreational program and competition program are excellent. I was hesitant about getting into competition dance, but after being around the studio and getting to know some of the older girls and getting a feel for it, all of my fears were put at ease. There is a huge emphasis on connection and team, self-expression, character and integrity, technique and self-discipline, as well as body positivity and really just tons of fun. If you are considering this studio, I would come in and check it out and maybe watch some videos of the kids performing. Like I said, there's something different about Royalenova- it's the best of the best in so many ways! My daughter would spend all of her time there if she could! The staff is wonderful, polite and very knowledgeable about all manners of dance. One of the things that is refreshing is that everyone is treated like family. Take that drama down to Abby Miller....no Dance Moms nonsense over here. Kids can start really early (I think they take them at 4 years old) and go all the way up to adult classes.
