When I first started seeing her, I was going through a pretty serious relationship crisis and needed support. For the first six months I met with her frequently, then weekly for a while, and for the past five years or so I've seen her monthly. It's reassuring to know that if something comes up I can always increase the frequency. Rachel is an incredibly thoughtful therapist. She remembers an impressive amount from past conversations and often brings up insights from years earlier that help put current situations into perspective. She also has a very calm presence, which makes it much easier to talk through difficult issues. What I appreciate most about her approach is that she doesn't tell you what decisions to make. Instead, she asks the right questions and encourages you to look at things from different angles so you can make better decisions for yourself. Over time that process builds a lot of self awareness. When I first began seeing Rachel our sessions were in person. Since 2020 we have met exclusively over Zoom, and I can honestly say the sessions are just as effective. She is extremely attentive and engaged, and the convenience of Zoom actually makes it easier to stay consistent. The biggest change I've seen over the years is in my relationships. My relationship with my partner, my family members, and even people at work has improved significantly. I feel like I communicate better, react less impulsively, and approach difficult conversations in a much healthier way. Another thing I value is that I can talk to Rachel about almost anything. She listens without judgment and helps me think things through in a constructive way. We knew something had to change but after several attempts at "fixing" our relationship ourselves, we knew we needed to get help. We found Gabe and he completely changed the trajectory of our relationship. It was our very first time seeking help from a therapist, and it was a scary step. Going into couples counseling, it is easy to have the mindset that 1 session will fix everything. In reality, it takes weeks and months of work to establish a good, trusting relationship with your therapist so that they can dig into the deeper root causes of the issue, instead of just giving you a bandaid that will only help temporarily. I appreciate the structure Gabe has in place to understand us individually, our goals as a couple, and the problems we were having. We could tell from the start that Gabe's goal was to help us get our relationship back on track, and not to judge or offer opinions about whether we were still compatible. This was very important to us - even though we knew we had problems, we were still both very committed to trying to make the marriage work. Gabe helped us work through issues both big and small, he gave us tools to use individually based on our own personalities and past history, and tools to also use as a couple. Dr Gray tries to take as much time as you need when you meet with him. He is warm, approachable, thorough and very knowledgeable. I'm the type of person who wants a relationship with the physician who is treating me and Dr Gray is the perfect choice! With him you have a great dialogue. Months went by and I didn't go back. He mailed me a handwritten letter of concern. That was enough to bring me back. I saw Dr. Horne many times. He turned on me to the greatest book ever, an early book by Wayne Dyer called "Your Erroneous Zones." This book along with Horne's views made him a wonderful person to talk to. He helped me. I think he learned from me. He seemed to really care and our sessions went past their billed times. I have planned to write him a thank you letter as it has been many years since I saw him. Now I think I will.

Session 3 she began to literally call me names, tell me my pain was "over the top" and that my anger in my situation was "reportable". (It's not, no threats or harmful events have occurred). She made excuses for the sick actions of the person who hurt me over and over. To her those actions were understandable but apparently my reactions to them are not. Save yourself and stay far away.
