Having your window pop and shatter suddenly without cause is a startling experience but what is…read moremore shocking is the absolute horrible customer service and blatant disregard for their warranty and care for the customer. And that is what sold us on this company. We have had one of the 2 shattered windows replaced but it took around 6 months to get it done. And this one that is still broken and waiting to be replaced... we have been waiting nearly a year and can't get a call back or an update. To add to the troubles, the initial install ended up being awful. It looked great for a bit but all the windows have gaps and dirt and air pass through and they are a MESS!!! Mike from Nex-Gen came and walked through everything and agreed the installation was not good. And he promised to get the replacement in quickly for the broken window and would fix all these install issues and wrote everything down and apologize but, that was nearly 5 months ago and we have called and have gotten NO response. My husband calls the company and NOTHING is ever done. We don't even get a phone call back, they say they are checking on the order and will get back to us. Good thing we don't hold our breath. This so called lifetime warranty is a joke! It is only good IF the company actually calls back and actually follows through. And what is so maddening, the warranty and good customer service is what sold us. Talk about bait and switch.

Great experience with Dan and Dave. Sales process was respectful, authentic and knowledgeable.read more

Ayers Home Repair - new siding, paint, stained beams and gutters

TOTALLY UNRELIABLE!!! I would have reviewed their work if…read morethey had done any, but instead they stood me up 5 times after I accepted their bid and scheduled a work date. What's worse is they don't call and say they are not coming. Each time they would call a few days later, or one time a week later, or two times they didn't call at all - I had to call them and ask why they didn't show up. The excuse was usually that they had other work that dragged over. I finally had to fire them. Don't hire this company if you want the work done in a timely manner. In fact, don't hire them at all -- you will be sorry!! I am very glad they did not get the chance to actually do the siding work at my home, as I have no doubt their work is as sloppy as their reliability.

You only need to know two things about Steve Ayers and his crew. 1) They know what they're doing…read more 2) They take pride in doing the job right! And, as I recall, Steve came over to see me the same same day I left a voice message for him. I had an estimate two days later. How often do you see customer service like that? I hired Ayers Home Repair (Ayers Construction) to to replace fascia boards, siding, repaint, and to fix the mess another contractor had made of replacing my windows. Steve used to be a home builder, so he knows every aspect of home repair. He also knows what windows, paint, and materials give you the best quality and value for your dollar. They did such a great job several people knocked on our door asking us who had done the work for us. If Steve and his crew don't do it themselves, he can recommend someone he knows who has the same high quality work ethic. (I used someone he recommended to me for gutters, and he also did a nice job). So, for painting, siding, windows, or any home repairs, I highly recommend Ayers Home Repair. In fact, I'm planning to hire Ayers Home Repair to finish my basement next year.

Extreme disappointment regarding the quality and installation of the 18 Simonton windows I…read morepurchased from JDI. The overall product quality is unsatisfactory, and the installation was subpar. I continue to experience drafts and excessive noise through all the windows. The amount of noise I receive from planes (I live nowhere near an airport) and cars is crazy; it was never like this with my old builder grade windows. Furthermore, the caulking is very sloppy. The owner said he was ok with the work and threatened to place a lien on my property the day after the windows were installed if I didn't pay, even though I was not satisfied. Following the owner's suggestion, I completed a Home Energy Audit. I have attached a few photos from that audit which clearly demonstrate significant temperature differences. I have also attached videos demonstrating the air leakage using a fog machine.(I can't attach all the pictures and videos I have and would be happy to share) After I called the troubleshooter radio show, the owner sent a crew to insulate three of the windows that I felt were the worst (which helped a little). I was then asked to pay for the insulation of the remaining windows. It is unclear why new windows would be installed without proper spray foam insulation in the first place. Additionally, two of the windows still do not close or lock correctly, even after the sashes were replaced twice. Given my significant investment, this has been a regrettable experience.

They were quick to return my calls and very responsive. It was a fairly involved project as the beams in the original pergola went under the roof and attached to the house joists. They were very knowledgeable and have had a wide variety of experience, so this presented no problem for them and they were also able to reshingle the roofing that had to be removed for the project. They also gave me good aesthetic suggestions for the new pergola. The work was completed in a timely manner and they always had the area spotless at the end of a day. I will definitely be hiring them for future work at my home as their work was very high quality.

I would not recommend or ever hire Tony with Prado construction again. We hired him for several…read morereasons that he seemed like a real go getter and skilled in the trades that he presented himself being qualified to perform specific jobs. What we were left with was a multitude of problems costing us (his customer) thousands of dollars in weeks of lost time and material. 1. Tony would leave major messes and not clean up after himself from paint and drywall stains on the back patio, roofing debris all over the yard, he left our equipment dirty and would not return it clean as he received it. Many of these items he left his customer to clean up after him. 2. Tony was hired to do several tile jobs. He was close to the end on one job and was paid in full to finish as we had to leave to go pick up supplies. Well, Tony left too with our money and did not finish the fire place job. 4 months went by and we eventually had to finish it ourselves. 3. Tony was hired to do framing as he states on the side of his truck that he does construction. He built several walls, of which the main wall in the basement was a full 1" out of plumb. Another wall had a 1/2" gap between a king stud and the top plate. You could pass your hand between. 4. Tony was hired to do drywall. His drywall cuts are very amateur and we had to fix many problems around outlet boxes and corners. None of these he fixed. They were left for his customer to repair. 5. Tony pinched two wires behind drywall and one in particular he did not secure a wire in a ceiling and drove a screw through the wire shorting out the circuit. I informed Tony of these two issues and he pushed blame onto his customer as if we somehow cut the wire. 6. Tony was hired to do texture on two floors. He sped through the top floor leaving a obvious too light texture which we had 3 different textures in the house. He said he would fix the top floor but never showed up and his customer spent 3 days redoing the work over. Tony appears to do whatever it takes to get paid then vanish. He leaves unfinished work, and large messes for his customer to deal with. He is not a licensed contractor but charges like one. It is in my opinion that he is a shark scamming homeowners out of money. He can do tile decent but he is still an amateur posing as a licensed general contractor. He is doing jobs for other people that require permits and not pulling them. Do not hire this hustler.
