My experiences have consistently been positive until yesterday. While checking out, I encountered an employee who seemed noticeably unhappy. She did not greet me when I came through the line, and her demeanor felt dismissive. When I politely asked if I could use the restroom, she quickly responded that it was closed for the evening. I tried to lighten the moment by jokingly asking what employees do when it's closed, but she looked at me with clear frustration and replied, "We don't go to the bathroom after 8 PM. It's closed, okay?" She also exchanged what appeared to be an annoyed look with another staff member. I understand that everyone can have difficult days, and the store was near closing time. I even understand that the restroom is closed after a certain time. However, the interaction was surprisingly unpleasant and very unlike the level of service I'm used to at Aldi. I am not upset. I mainly wanted to share this experience in hopes that she can receive additional customer service support or training, especially since she interacts with guests regularly. On May 18, because that cake flavor wasn't popular or desirable, a call was made to the bakery to change the flavor. The order edit was confirmed. On May 31, the cake was picked up at 11:20 AM and arrived to the venue. While the cake was pretty, and a personal topper was added to make it even prettier, regretfully it was not the flavor that we ordered. Contrary to the "baker's" confirmation, the edit/change was not made. This was not observed until the cake was cut. While the other desserts, from other companies were demolished, 3/4 of this Harris Teeter 2 tier chocolate something flavor cake was untouched. What a waste of money! Of course there was nothing to do at that point. We called 2 weeks later and was put on hold for 13minutes after sharing our concern then eventually disconnected. Since a contact name (Diana) and number was left with the order we were hoping that at the very least someone would call back. Nothing! What a disappointing low-grade experience.

It is a very new establishment with fair prices on many of the items we saw. Others may be questionably priced, but this makes sense in today's economy. The store is very clean and organized. The lighting is good and doesn't feel outdated at all. It isn't a big supermarket, but for the area, it is pretty good. As we were checking out, we asked about the loyalty points program because the owner mentioned it, and we definitely wanted to sign up. However, the information is collected on paper, and you do not receive loyalty points even when signing up and making a purchase at the same time. I asked for the manager, whose name is Miguel, and when I mentioned whether we could save our receipt for getting the points in the future, he stated no, it cannot be done and proceeded to say, "It is what it is," which I found to be a bit rude. He is part of the customer service desk and maybe needs some lessons in customer service; that statement was unprofessional. The young lady was sweet but a bit shy. My elderly mother asked a takeout restaurant if they accepted SNAP benefits; however, they do not yet participate in that program. That's a bit of a letdown. It has the potential to be pretty good as a local supermarket, especially if you are looking for certain Latin-inspired foods. But the manager's rudeness was unexpected.

While the store itself is rather clean, I think the problem lies with management and the lack of competency to hire people who know what they are doing and the lack of work ethic to show those people how to do the job and instead opting for sitting them down in front of a computer screen and having them watch "modules" that do a poor job at telling them how to do the job, (I know this because I used to work there for three months). I saw an employee try to show a customer who lacked the brain cells to pay for his stuff, how to work the card machine and the store manager Ben was yelling at her when she was just trying to do her job and it was holding up the line. Keep in mind the store manager didn't even take the time to help his people out even after passing by like four times while this is happening. I've also heard and experienced for myself that the management there doesn't care for people with mental disabilities who want to work there and even go as far as to try to set those mentally disabled people up to get fired by putting them in scenarios that trigger them. Sometimes they even straight up fire those disabled people for no reason and make up excuses so they don't have to give them special treatment, (I have autism and DID and they did this to me and even called me retarded straight to my face saying "We don't need retards causing trouble at our store." which I was extremely confused by and upset by at the same time). Don't shop here, the people here are either stuck up or lack the brain cells to help you or even a mixture of both. (When I say lack the brain cells I mean they are Neurotypical and stupid)
