The Aldi assistant manager was standing behind the checkout lady when I caught this error. She immediately went to check the price. I was pretty convinced that the higher price was correct as a large number of food items are going up daily. I didn't get an apology and I wasn't looking for one either. I did get a lame explanation as to what happened though. She said the cold temperatures in the freezer caused the correct price to disappear! Ok my three year old grandson would have believed that story! A little insulting but more funny than insulting! This was the first time I've found incorrect pricing at this Aldi and it was comical seeing the shocked expression on the assistant managers face! I still like Aldi a lot!

The purchase amount to redeem these coupons varies. Today's coupon is 10.00 off of a 30.00 dollar purchase. Because of this much appreciated cooperation between these two companies I felt good about buying two very nice family packages of cubed steak. Without these coupons I wouldn't have bought this at 8.49 USD. per. lb. Additionally, Our Food Lion has come a long way very fast and it now pleases me to shop here.

First off, I got there then 2 other people got there to order as well. One couple got there food before me and I understand different food takes different cook times so I gave lead way, until the gentleman next to me said he'd been waiting for 15 mins for three tenders that we could clearly see in the heat box. One of the cashiers then took notices and walked back there to get his coworker to prep his meal, he came out with a smug face as if we were bothering him. He simply put the tenders in a box and gave it to the man with a limp wrist as if he'd been "hard at work"! He can barely pull his pants up to cover his ass so I doubt he's putting in effort to work. Later on after 10-15mins after he brings our food out (with a rude expression on his face, shocker) and I simply asked him for hot sauce. In all seriousness, this can be a disease that is not a laughing matter. Please be kind to others when someone out there is suffering from a battle they cannot control. If you're older like me with family members suffered through the depression period. Food was scarce and no one had money. No such thing as to a credit to get you by, either! For those with these conditions, they literally stocked up on everything so that they would not be in a pickle, again! Funny, but not funny story, one of my friend's family had passed away. I was asked to help out clearing the house to be sold. Family members were clearing out closets and furniture. We were in the kitchen pulling out food. It's a small pantry or so we thought! It was like a cartoon! We were pulling out endless cans of food. My buddy was making tomato soup on the stovetop. As he was eating the soup, he said, it's good, but it would be better with a little milk in it! That is how grandma makes it! His mom comes in and asks us what year it was?!?! We laughed and said it's 2005 silly!! Then she says, why are all these cans say best by 1980??? We all looked at all the canned goods and every single one were about twenty plus years old!!! YIKES!! With that being said, some things can be eaten past its date?!?! I guess with caution. For me, I am a prepper! When I lived in the Midwest, we had snow, ice storms, and tornadoes! I still stock things, but in rotation! I follow some FEMA guidelines and add my own twist! Hopefully everyone is stocking enough food, but not hoarding! I hope I did not offend anyone. I just wanted to share a moment in the past that we still chuckle from time to time!!!

I…read morehave a rather large walk in pantry at our current house so keeping a well stocked pantry has never been a problem. Years ago when my children were in middle school there were neighbor kids that felt quite comfortable walking into our house after school and go straight to the pantry for a snack before settling down for homework or after school activities. Our pantry was definitely different from what they would find at their own home. That was good. Then came Covid and a well stocked pantry provided a variety of meals for my husband and myself when grocery stores were off limits or the store shelves were bare. When we could get to the store if allowed we could purchase a few extras to restock our pantry. Once again the good. Winter in Kentucky can be brutal and if there is deep snow or ice we always have plenty of food stocked away in our pantry. You may get tired of a variety of soups every day but you're not going to starve to death. In addition to a vast assortment of canned items we also have boxed/dry non perishables that we can make meals from. Once again the good. Now for the bad. Since the pantry is on the large size and we don't always depend on that food it takes effort to rotate food to keep the items with the soonest "sell by date" to the front of the shelves. It is easy to be exhausted after shopping and just shove the items just purchased onto the shelf without putting it to the rear of existing food. THE UGLY! Each June I try to empty out the pantry and check the sell by dates on EVERYTHING. We usually have family visit in July or August and more than once I didn't totally complete my June overhaul of the pantry. Last year we had a crisis while barbecuing country style ribs. Both bottles of barbecue sauce were way past the pull date and my daughter had to run to Walmart while the ribs were cooking. THE EXTREME UGLY! My husband is now retired so the June overhaul I use to do while he was away on a business trip took place this week. Garbage day was Tuesday night to Wednesday morning. Even with emptying jars of their contents down the garbage disposal to lighten the load we had multiple garbage cans that weighed a ton. I hate the amount of money that was probably ground down the garbage disposal but at least nobody is going to get sick. It feels wonderful to have an organized pantry. It's nice to make a list of items we need to buy because we don't have one in the pantry. Lesson learned don't over hoard groceries!
