I decided to visit this Belk in St. Marys because I had a work assignment near. The store is pretty old but well kept. There isn't a ton of other clothing stores near. I guess the Belk is still kicking because Kingsland/St. Marys has an active military community with a lot of military wives. I decided to browse the different clothing areas. A lot of the clothes are geared for the older lady, but they also have a few areas that can be good for a younger lady. I found a few work out shirts and some other random clothing item for 50% off. The cashier also found me an additional 30% off which was super nice. I enjoyed the store because I actually found of few items that I didn't really think I needed, but it was nice to have. It was pretty nice to browse around and actually see/feel the items I wanted to purchase. It was a very nostalgic moment.

Nice large parking lot that made it possible to angle the van every little while for a few hours to keep the Sun in the right spot to keep me from baking (on the back doors). After working, it was time to check out the inside of this Walmart for lunch items. It's a full grocery store (unlike yesterday's stop in Fernandina Beach) and I was able to get a few things to make a fresh salad in the van. We travel all over the country...in small resort towns/communities like this you get one of two experiences 1) they make you feel welcome, like you live there...and it makes you want to live there! Or 2) You are a tourist and we can't be bothered. Two of the employees, a tall older lady...and a younger gal stood in the middle of the clothing section complaining about how crowded the store was, and how they couldn't wait for the sale to be over. Ummmm what? There were four of us shoppers (didn't know one another) all looking at one another like "They can see us right?" Another gal had questions about some art on the wall, and she could not get anyone to help her. I had 10 items to try on, you can only take 5 in...so while I was trying on the first 5, the sales woman kept apologizing to those waiting saying "she has a lot of stuff, so sorry" Sooo I didn't try on the other five. Bought three of the first 5 and felt very rushed. Bottom line I think the locals and their family/friends keep them busy enough, so no need to worry about the tourists. That's the vibe. The sales team needs to be a little more aware that we are in the store for an experience, not because we have nowhere else to shop.
