She enhanced the slight waviness that I've always fought, and created depth and texture I never thought possible. Now my hair falls perfectly regardless of whether I let it airdry into natural waves, or blowdry it into perfect smoothness. The cut works flawlessly for both. And now she's introduced me to a beautiful organic semipermanent coloring option that restores shine and tone to my fading chestnut hair and turns my unruly greys into shimmering highlights that grow out without harsh telltale coloring lines. It's magical! And makes me feel ten years younger when I see my reflection, so that's a bonus! Inka's cuts also last weeks/months longer than anything I've experienced. Inka is has an innate talent for color! I am blond and need a little help when it comes to highlights. She just *knows* what I need, even when I don't exactly know. Inka will mix her magic and you will walk out with the best hair ever. I have recommended her to a few people and can't sing her praises highly enough. I found Inka here on Yelp about a year and a half ago. I was looking for a colorist that uses organic color because my former colorist closed his business without notice. Inka did a great job on the color, matching what I had (which I asked her to do) - and a great job on my cut too. Over the past months, Inka has supported me with various hair adventures :) - going darker sometimes, and letting my hair grow longer. I tell her what I'm thinking and she kind of reads between the lines and can tell where to head (pun intended). Last week, I wanted something really different so we went blond with a shorter blunt cut. Wow! I LOVE this change. I trusted her instincts as she's gotten to know me and I am so glad. Inka is an incredibly talented stylist. I must preface this review by saying I am VERY picky about my hair, and I considered making bi-monthly trips to Colorado to see my former stylist. I thought I'd give Inka a try and am so glad I did! My highlights look natural and gorgeous, and she does a great job cutting, too. Sometimes I tell her exactly what I want, but more often than not, I ask her what she thinks would be best and it turns out GREAT! In addition to feeling more confident and pretty every time I walk out of her salon, Inka is also a pleasure to talk to while sitting in the chair for an hour or two, and she also gives the most AMAZING scalp massage when she rinses out color. I've never had any hair stylist work with my hair as well as Inka. She thinned out my overly thick hair shaping and contouring so it would lie more naturally and not in big bulks. She is very friendly and helpful, she also remembers exactly how she cut it the last time. Blowing drying my hair and styling it take less than 1/2 the time before and I don't have bad "hair" days any more. I came to Inka because she uses Organic Color Systems and she is very easy to get to in Mill Valley. (I was also "fired" by my former stylist, but that's another story!) Having a history of being nervous in a stylist's chair, Inka's mellow, relaxed attitude put me at easy immediately. She listens, she is very intuitive, and she has a terrific ability to envision what your hair, from color to cut, really needs. Inka is also very detail oriented, leaving me with a perfect cut every time. And her coloring skills are pure magic. For the first time in a long time I have color in my hair that really compliments my skin tone, and never looks too bright or too dull in any type of lighting. I smile for weeks after each haircut because they work, every time.
