Happy to add my name to the chorus of raves for Salon B. I was definitely nervous - picking a new salon from Yelp. But the number of reviews, and the consistency of them convinced me to give it a go. I'm used to being very happy with my salon, and have been looking for a new home since my old stylist switched to doing only extensions almost two years ago. During these two years I've gotten exactly zero compliments on my hair. The people before Salon B were OK - no trauma - but they didn't listen nearly as closely as Bishlam did, and they didn't chime in with tough hair love like he did either. He was definitive about what wasn't working - but without any snark. He explained exactly why he thought changes needed to be made, and he was super clear about how I could do upkeep given my wish to keep things simple. He has a plan for moving forward once my last over-razored, over layered cut grows out. Even with him not having a perfect place to start, I've gotten multiple unsolicited compliments on my new do over the past few days. "You look ten years younger." "So great. So fun. So cute. I am SO happy with my experience here. The last person who did my hair before this really didn't listen to me and I spent a lot of money getting something done that did not at all capture what I was after. That is not the experience I had here. They spent 20 minutes consulting with me before the appointment and looked at all of my photos carefully and instructed me on how attainable it was. The final result came quite close to the photos I gave them with the stylists own unique touches added to the look! I haven't felt this confident in my hair in a long time. The ambiance is also incredible. They have beautiful local art showcased (and for sale!) throughout the space. They even sell houseplants which they propagate themselves. These guys can do anything! I cannot say enough good things about Bishlam and Amy. They are the Dream Team! I trust Bishlam 100% with my hair, and he exceeds my expectations every time. Amy is an amazing social media manager and curates such an awesome array of products from local artists and businesses. They really support Marin and the Bay. I love that Bishlam takes the time to talk me through what I want and what he is doing with my hair. He does a rough cut at first to give me a sense of where things are going, and then he'll wash my hair and do the finishing touches. We always have a great conversation, too! 5 stars!!! I came in after dying my own hair permanently way too dark and I've struggled to find a Hollywood caliber colorist in the Bay Area. Well, I have finally found one and I felt like crying when I saw myself transform into the person I used to look like when I was younger!!!
