I had been turned away, ghosted, and told it would be too difficult by several tattoo artists. Then I found Lucy at Black Bee Tattoo, and the experience was completely different. I actually walked into the shop one day while I was out running errands and decided to ask about the possibility of a cover-up. From the very beginning Lucy was kind, honest, and incredibly knowledgeable. Let me lead in with the basics for those of you who don't feel like a long read. Glenn is the best,…read moreand I have (obviously I'm biased) but the one of the coolest tattoo he's ever done. I've gone to him multiple times and will continue to return when I have more money to spend on fun things like tattoos instead of sad adult things like student loans and bills. I came to Glenn fresh 18 (on my 18th birthday actually) and got pierced there multiple times by his apprentice Hannah. From the day I turned 18 I told him about a tattoo I REALLY wanted but it was a very vague concept and I was worried about commitment. Three months before I turned 19 (and several piercings later) I decided to finally take the plunge. All I said was "I want a henna styled world map, in shades of brown." And Glenn like magic drew something better than I could have imagined. He was so nice to me and had no issue with my best friend holding my hand for the duration of the tattoo. I was in love with my tattoo and the experience. I've gotten a handful of other meaningful tattoos from him, but I semi-recently covered up some self harm scars on my thigh with a tattoo of the phrase "I felt like destroying something beautiful" (10 points if you can name that reference!) and the tattoo was healing in a way that I can't describe with words. Glenn told me that he wanted me to promise him I would never cut myself again (I was already three years clean at the time) and I did promise. Glenn is like a cool uncle, the kind that would buy you beer or something as long as you promised not to drive. (this is just an example plz don't go solicit him for booze lol I'm sure he wouldn't give it to you youngsters) Anyway, I love all of my tattoos from Glenn. Even my mom likes his work, so much in fact that she got a matching tattoo with me last year for Mother's Day.
