She was there every step of the way to offer help and advice, and she brought along a perfectly organized bag of items everyone needs and no one remembers to bring (needle, thread, fashion tape, band aids, etc.). Meg was a fantastic conductor, making sure everything went smoothly, but acting friendly and professional throughout the day and night. We wanted invitations, save the dates, and thank you cards that evoked our wedding theme and really felt like us. During the course of planning, we had a few calls with Neela and worked through several renderings based on our conversations. It was easy to convey our message to Neela, and I really found she has such a knack at bringing a vision to life. Each rendering was so spot on, and when we wanted tweaks, she was very accommodating and quick to update to our version of perfection. Her lead times are really amazing and you get the sense that she is putting her all into your project. Our final result was a beautiful suite of stationary that truly exceeded our expectations. The paperweight and quality felt luxurious, so much so that people kept referring to our save the date as our invites. When they received the invites, we received phone calls and text messages telling us they were the most beautiful invites they had ever seen. Even now after our wedding, friends and family still have our invites displayed. Needless to say we are excited to send our thank you cards. After being so impressed with our stationary, we hired Neela again to create our seating chart. We had an idea to write individual notes to guests and have them on personalized stationary, inside envelopes with their names on the backside and enclosed with wax seals which had the table numbers on them. These turned out so beautiful and gave such an impactful presence at cocktail hour. This was my favorite detail of our wedding. Not only did she set up time immediately, but she turned around a mock design. What we described and envisioned was brought to life. She created a sweet Noah's Ark inspired stationery set with envelope liners. It was a nod to our son's name, but each animal was so delicate and captured what we were looking for without being too obvious. When we wanted our dog included, Neela designed a paw print for the back of the card. She was also so helpful with the right sizing, paper, etc. There are so many decisions and she's an expert who really helps guide you. She was incredibly patient with me, our crazy families, and the many traditions we wanted to incorporate from both of our cultures (India and Australia). Perhaps most importantly, she was the diplomatic, professional, and always positive liaison I needed between myself and all the other vendors. She also helped me with two particularly tough vendors -- as most brides know, every wedding has its characters. In our case, right off the bat, the venue was, let's say 'smug', and not particularly kind to me, a POC bride who didn't fit their "usual" stereotype of a client. They spoke to me as if I should be appreciative of the opportunity to have my wedding there -- and this was pre-pandemic. Alison calmed me down, dealt with all of their nonsense, and let me enjoy my wedding weekend without feeling frustrated. On the day before the wedding festivities started, our bus company transporting overseas guests without cars and our venue got into a Certificate of Insurance related argument that she smoothly solved without needing me to step in. I also had an issue, much later after the wedding, with my photographer in terms of getting one of our contracted deliverables (he went incommunicado, a truly worst nightmare situation). She immediately sprang into action to help and to get him to finally respond to me after years(!) of me trying by myself. I will forever appreciate how she did these things -- especially in light of the fact that these were the first two vendors I hired before hiring her! I was married on 10/7/2023 and Details Made Simple (Carla) made sure it was the most beautiful, and least anxiety provoking day. I had previously booked a Day Of Coordinator in March 2023. This DOC promised me the world and more for my October 2023 wedding. We'll fast forward to August 2023 meeting with my venue, I was alone and freaking out. My DOC (not Carla) bailed on me for the venue meet, and made me feel like I was panicking for no reason with a timeline that will be formulated week before wedding. (Again not Carla) Thanks to my maid of honor coming through with an amazing recommendation, I was given Carlas's number after feeling defeated and upset with my previous DOC not supporting me or showing up for me when necessary. After 2 hour conversation with myself and my mom, I immediately felt at ease with Carla. My concerns were validated as "No way should a timeline be started 1 week before event". With many tears had during our initial conversation, that night I slept the best I had in all my wedding planning with Carla coming to my rescue and the rest is history. Details Made Simple is just that, Details Made Simple. From hiring (DMS) that August evening to my wedding on October 7, 2023, I was in The best hands Possible!!! We had a few phone calls in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and the month leading up to the wedding, myself and Carla were in contact regularly. We had a 200 person wedding out in Montauk and Michelle introduced herself well in advance to all vendors previously even though she did not technically start working for us until the last 6 weeks.
