I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with a recent service I received. Initially, I contacted the artist to inquire about completing a honeycomb sleeve filling in some empty honeycombs, red , and after agreeing on a price, I arrived to find the shop closed. So I had to drive around, finding the correct location. The artist ultimately worked out of his home. During the procedure, I experienced significant discomfort due to the artist's heavy-handed technique, which resulted in extreme trauma, skin splitting, and a infection that required medical attention and prescription medication. When I requested a refund, citing the trauma and damage caused, along with him going out of the lines and into other artwork with the red ink, the artist declined, stating he would most definitely not refund me so I could forget about that and implied that I had pre-existing wounds. However, I have photographic evidence of the area before and after the procedure, which clearly shows the damage caused by the artist's work. Furthermore, the artist's work deviated from the agreed design, and he damaged adjacent artwork which I need to pay to now get fixed . I am disappointed in the artist's unprofessional response and refusal to take responsibility for the harm caused. read more

I took my daughter for her first tattoo and I can not explain how wonderful our experience was, the only problem is since that was her first tattoo now she will expect that service, talent, cleanliness and she will be let down because they set the bar so high. We will always drive a day to get our tattoo work here and if we're too far to drive we will fly to Spokane and rent a car he is that gooooood!! read more

I booked a tattoo appointment several months out. Times are wild, I was eager to get the tattoos and happy to wait. In the meantime, I had been messaging with Scotty's wife. I sent designs over text/email about our session. After waiting 2 months, I showed up to the appointment and placed my purse on the floor. Scotty the owner went ballistic and lectured me for 15 minutes on his pathogen training. I apologized but he continued to berate me how I was endangering his livihood. He also has extremely pressured speech, which made listening difficult. I try to move past the lecture because well, I waited two months. His wife arrives and he informs her that I sat extremely well through his lecture. It sounded like it was a fun "test" Scotty chooses to have with his clients. How unnecessary. Scotty brags about how far he has made it in the industry, but then complains of not having any friends. Scotty boasted that he was the best tattoo teacher, but it was unfair because his students would be so much better than him because of his skilled teachings. It was a strange overload of information. The tone was arrogant and deeply ungrateful. Scotty and his wife then chose to berate me on my designs that they are impossible and no way he could do them as they required a steady hand. I mean shouldn't steady hands be a requirement of a tattoo artist ? I said no worries, but why didn't you tell me when I sent the designs when I booked the appointment two months ago ?!! It was so absurd, but it gets worse. Scotty must have felt bad or his ego bruised as he tried to draw the first tattoo. I asked about the placement and if the start could be further down my hand. It was an ask of the artist's opinion. In getting tattooed, I believed it's important both the artist and customer feel comfortable. Scotty and his wife ridiculed my hand-drawn rough design. You've had it for two months ?? Could you not speak up sooner ? I was happy (and expected) to be a paying client. Scotty ended up throwing the pen at my face with a "draw it yourself." It was outrageous. It was humiliating. If you want to be tattooed by a 50 year old man behaving like a toddler, come to Ink World. If you want to ridiculed for no reason except the owner's perpetual misery, Ink World is your place. I was refunded my deposit. Thanks. Yikes. It was an unpleasant (and I believe unnecessary!) experience with two terribly unhappy people. I did walk in at another shop that weekend and proudly wear both tattoos now. That experience was simple and pleasant. So much for impossible :) Save yourself some dignity and stay away from Ink World. read more

I booked my tattoo with Scotty for a couple weeks out, took the day off and headed down for my appointment. I saw they were switching locations so I looked on Inkworlds website then googled the address to confirm it showed the same address and it did. I called the number to confirm the address but they didn't answer. Drove the hour to CDA but it turns out the address is a residential property and is not finished. I tried calling Inkworlds number two more times, no answer. I texted them the situation and my frustration and drove another hour home. A while later, I get a text back apologizing that they booked me under the wrong name and the wrong date and time. They offered me a slight discount and tried to reschedule. I accepted and booked again for another month out. The new site still isn't finished, so I was asked to go to another shop, downtown cda, for the tattoo. I paid for parking, and walked to the shop about 15 minutes early. 5 minutes after the appointment start time, Scotty comes walking down the stairs. Now, I've been tattooed by quite a few different artists and I've never felt more uncomfortable than I did with him. Scotty comes in wearing dirty basketball shorts will holes all over them and starts ranting about past clients, while working on my stencil. After 30 minutes of absolutely pointless conversation, Scotty finally starts setting up his station. While he's setting up, he's complaining about the people who are letting him use their space, showing me all sorts of pictures that his friend took, and wasting more time on pointless conversation (literally a full 5 minutes about the static properties of Saran Wrap??). Another 30 minutes go by and FINALLY, we are about to put the stencil on. After degrading every idea and only giving me one spot where this tattoo will go for it to look good (even though I previously texted exactly what my thoughts before even booking the appointment), I told him that I had other plans for that spot and I'd like it anywhere on my upper arm. After putting the stencil on, he then starts complaining about all these young 18-year olds not knowing anything about the art of tattooing and lecturing me about how skin changes as you age - mind you, I'm almost 30 years old with enough tattoos (30+) that I am very aware of how they change over time. Another 10 minutes go by of him taking off his shirt and making me look at all his tattoos, and how "great" they all look. Now I've been there for well over an hour and I'm completely over it. The final straw was when Scotty started talking shit about all my current tattoos and how the design he is about to do is going to look like shit. There was absolutely no way I could sit there for another minute, let alone 3 hours, listening to this guy talk. I grabbed my stuff and told him to keep my deposit. He started shouting something as I was leaving but I didn't care to listen to anything else that came out of this narcissist's mouth. If you want a tattooer that doesn't value your time, will vent to you about all his problems and the problems in the world, how awful clients are, etc. then this is the right place for you! If you just want a simple tattoo without having to stroke this guys ego I highly recommend finding someone/ somewhere else. read more

INKWORLD Scotty at INKWORLD went over and above the expectations for a memorial of my husband, that I promised my step son to have done together before the funeral. I was blown away from the efforts of both Scotty and Corey that went over and above in so many ways. The perfectionism of cleanliness and hygiene was outstanding! He explained every detail of how making sure there is no way to spread germs and is so key in the tattoo world, like I had never truly thought about before, very valuable. The fact that Scotty could put that much heart into a strangers vision of something this important in our lives...is truly a gift. He whole heartedly felt the pain we were feeling. We shed some tears, laughed more than anything, and my step son and I left feeling incredibly grateful to have chosen INKWORLD. The entire process was perfect in so many ways. Scotty is one of those people who God put here for this and are meant to be doing what they do in this life. And he is damn good at it. I'll start with the fact that I went in there with something I had drawn and had them redraw it ( I'm no artist) I looked at the proof and didn't even notice it was spelling wrong until it had almost healed. It was supposed to say " love is patient, love is kind" When they re drew it they wrote it wrong They tattooed " love US patient, love US kind" I was pissed. After they put the proof drawing on me, I honestly didn't notice because it is upside down to me and I also couldn't tell due to the cursive. I don't hate the tattoo but I DO NOT LOVE IT. I CALLED to tell them about it and they basically told me too bad you saw the drawing on your before we tattooed. (That's true, but it's the point.) on the phone they pulled the original drawing I'd brought in and confirmed they had re drawn it wrong. They did not offer to fix it or anything, That was about a year ago I GUESS I can't blame them too much because I did have a chance to proof it when they drew it on me. Just didn't notice they changed my words ( the bible actually) So I want more tattoos and don't know any one else in town, I thought I'd give them a try again, maybe a different artist. THE GIRL ON THE PHONE Is really nice, but can't really answer questions because each tatt artist is different, no point to call as they don't call back. Sssoooooo I tried today to drop off a drawing so they can look at it and make me an appointment. I was told they were completely booked and I'd have to wait. Today is Saturday and I hoped to get it done on Monday. She was nice but I could tell I was bugging her or had interrupted something. She didn't tell me when they had an opening it was just kinda " yea he's booked too bad" kinda thing. I'm not going to try here anymore. Time one was messed up but I took responsibility for the most part but they should have paid attention to he scripture they were given. I tried to get in there again, you know s$it happens let's try again, but NOPE. THEY DONT HAVE TIME for me or my money. Oh we'll... Any other tattoo artists looking for work? I'm needing a lot of work done here, sick of waiting. They probably just tattoo friends, not too many new customers. Be careful if your taking in text, be sure to proof read what they write. This was the most unprofessional tattoo experience ever! Booked the appointment, placed a deposit, and got a price quote. One the day of the tattoo the price doubled so I declined the service. I was told the deposit was a "booking" fee and I also owed the shop a set up fee for performing absolutely ZERO work during a time when nobody else was in the shop! No where is this standard practice!What a joke! The owner doesn't seem to have even a fifth grade eduaction! Arrogant, misleading, rude, worst customer service ever! read more

update: I had a feeling this would upset the shop and I really tried to keep emotion out of my original report, however, as I mentioned, "knowing the reputation on dealing with confrontation, I was afraid the owner would have directed the fault at me" and this has definitely come true. Today I learned that Scotty wanted to track down where I lived and would have his friends beat the shit out of me. An over-the-top reaction to some honest feedback. It is unfortunate there is not a more client-centric orientation. This is an example I wanted to share as evidence of my original worry to even bring up such a dreadful experience. I think Tyson is a really good guy and with the right guidance I know he will be successful, and I truly hope this experience contributes to professional growth. read more

Came in with my wife to get matching tattoos and we were very happy with our results. The artist, Scotty, was very professional and made a great effort to help us feel comfortable before getting inked. We showed him a picture of what we wanted and he was able to draw us up a tattoo within minutes and it looked amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to others. We had another appointment with another shop in town and drove across state cause my daughter wasn't 18 yet but wanted a tattoo prior to her bday. THAT shop which I will not name gave us bad vibes even though they were rated highly. The artist we were scheduled with literally said he didn't give a "f' about what we wanted so why would I want him to use a needle on us! so circumstances happened and we ended up back at the hotel and decided no way we are going back....we searched and found Inkworld! I was so happy they were able to fit us in since we were only in town couple of days. We had an appt with Richard and he was GREAT. I texted the images and when we got there, he really improved them! we are very happy! he was also very patient and spoke through the process since it was her 1st tat....he was awesome! he confirmed the image, the location...made sure we were set before starting and everyone in the shop had a more friendly attitude to customers and to each other. Says a lot when people get along. The other shop did not have that vibe at all. Idaho tattoo shops are not regulated if you didn't know but store is clean and they pay close attention to details of maintaining safety, even asking to not put items on the floor as yes blood is being sprayed as tattoos are happening. Single use needles, wipe down everything, wrap everything, gloves etc. and you can check on their site on all these details. They provided directions on cleaning and post care. Overall we were very happy and just soooo glad we didn't leave without our tats....thank you!!! read more

I had half tribal on my arm and heard good things about INKWORLD so thought I would go there and try it out. I had an old employee do the bottom half of the top of my arm and by the next time I made another apt to get the inside of my arm finished he was gone so I made a apt with ENZO. He did the inside of my elbow and I was told by INKWORLD to keep tatu derm on for at least 4 days, when I took it off the 4th day there was a hole in my arm and INKWORLD told me that was normal but they never told me that so of course I was freaking out. After that healed ENZO started finishing the inside of my arm doing tribal and the lines were TERRIBLE and it didn't even match the rest of my tattoo and after he finished that night I was told I had to pay an extra $100. I went back to show ENZO and he told me he would fix it and I had to reschedule 3 times because one day he wasn't there, another day no one was in the building the time of my apt, last time ENZO was working on someone else and extra 1hr 30min. I thought I would go back to have ENZO fix is work because I thought I would be getting a deal but no, they wanted me to pay a normal price after all the squiggly line work, tribal that wasn't filled in all the way and multiple unpromised apts. Last day with ENZO at INKWORLD I was there for 3 hrs with him refilling his lines and later when I cleaned my arm to take another look, MORE SQUIGGLY LINES, lines that are uneven and don't match to look like one line. INKWORLD IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL TATTOO SHOP IVE EVER SEEN (not consistent with pricing or scheduling and their employees don't put work first). read more
