I deeply regret not reading reviews for Kim prior to engaging her to do my 2022 taxes. She is married to a high school friend of my father's, and offered her services when they reconnected. If this is how she treats individuals she has personal ties with, I can't imagine how she acts with strangers. The upshot of it all is that she made an error on my return - one that I questioned numerous times, but she assured me was correct. Although it seemed inaccurate (as someone who never owed more than a couple thousand, I owed nearly $50k, a huge surprise), I eventually allowed Kim to file. Fast forward a few months, and I reached out to a tax preparer friend for assistance planning for 2023 taxes (not wanting to be taken by surprise again). She reviewed my taxes and came to the same conclusion that Kim had made an error. Revising the return would be a refund of nearly $40k. I immediately reached out to Kim & we began a game of cat and mouse I am still playing today. I do not wish to pay another couple hundred dollars to have someone else recreate my return on order for me to amend it. I simply need Kim to update a couple numbers and refile. But she has ignored me steadfastly for almost four months. I have sent daily emails for the past months, weekly prior to that, and call at least once a week. Occasionally, she will provide some excuse (sick, out of town, etc) and say she'd respond next week. But she would never respond, and I would continue my calls and emails. At this point, I haven't heard from her since Christmas (3 months ago). To be clear, I am not angry about the error. While annoying, it can easily be fixed and caused no lasting financial damage or stress. However, working with Kim (even on the original return) has been an unbelievable headache. How someone can conduct a business without being reachable or reliable is beyond me. It is entirely unprofessional and rude. At this point, all I am asking when I reach out to her is for her to let me know what software she used and if I can have the working file so I don't have to start from scratch. She can't even deign to respond to me. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and anywhere else I can warn others of this gross negligence and unprofessional conduct. read more

Kim has been doing my taxes for many years. Lets just say about 20 years. I can honestly say that I trust her with everything I have. She is organized and quick. She knows a lot about the new and old tax laws. She has never done me wrong. I was referred to her from a friend and he still sees her to this day. I'm just so sad that most people only get on Yelp to make a complaint. So please take that into consideration on the judgment of her service. Do not use this business. I hate to add this review, but feel it's the only way to voice my anger and disappointment, since Kim has never returned any of our phone calls. I don't know what happened to make her completely ignore us, after over 10-15 years of a professional relationship, what I thought was a friendship and fire family bond. We had been having Kim prepare our taxes for many years. I knew she was difficult to contact, but she showed up every year. We knew we were moving out of state, and wanted to prepare ahead, so called Kim for advice. She asked for our papers, so we sent all of our information. We usually have our taxes done early in the season. We never heard back from Kim after multiple calls. We received a marketing email and responded. Kim said she would call the next day, she had been out of town. She never called. We tried many more times as April 15 was approaching, luckily they suspended the due date to July 15th. We called many more times and never heard back. We finally had to find someone new. We have still have not heard a word. At first I was worried. Is she ill? Covid? Something else? But I heard from many other people that we had referred to her, that she did show up and complete their taxes this season. We are angry at Kim's actions (or lack there of) and disappointed in her behavior in treating people so disrespectfully. She is not professional or dependable. read more

I've already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau...let's just start with that. I had been going to Kim for several years and had never had any problems....until this year. Incidentally, my complaint is almost identical to the review below by the other Emilee. We filed our taxes on time in early March. My daughter did a commercial a few years ago and as a result, also needed to file her taxes. Unfortunately, I hadn't received her statement for the year and so it needed to wait. I wasn't worried because the exact same thing happened the year prior and everything was taken care of. This year was a completely different story. As soon as I received her statement, I forwarded it to Kim's office and followed up with a phone call. Kim was "busy" and would call me back tomorrow. No phone call. I called. No answer. I left 2 messages. I called again the next week, and spoke with her secretary who had informed me I was on the call list for that Wed. Wednesday came. No phone call. I called again. I left 2 more mesages and still, I heard nothing. I emailed..and finally received a response. She was out of town and didn't have service....At this point, I was happy to hear something...but none of my concerns were addressed. I wasn't sure if she had done anything and I was really concerned about my daughter owing a late penalty. At this point, we were already entering mid April and I had filed (or so I thought on March 5th). The last time she had messaged me was on April 28th and briefly mentioned she had placed us on extention...and that she would be in her office to discuss things tomorrow. Tomorrow came..I called...and you guessed it, no answer. And why were we on extention? Our stuff was done..it was my daughter who needed filing? From that point on, I was a worry wart. I had heard that penalty fees would be tremendous...I've ALWAYS filed my taxes on time so I didn't know what to do. I followed up with emails in May, June and most recently July..I left several more voicemails. I never was nasty or rude...and pleaded for someone to get back to me. Money and the IRS is not something I would want to mess with...and not once did she attempt to help me. She had been paid for her services and my husband and I never received anything. I finally hired another accountant, only to learn she hadn't done ANYTHING. I've never felt so dissapointed by a business. We had, what I thought was a great business relationship...Kim was a nice lady who was always happy to see us every year we came in for our visit. I honestly, don't know what her deal was/is. Due to her negligence, my daughter owed a LARGE sum of money...and interest. (Which all could have been avoided, had she followed up on her end of the deal). After Googling her name, I saw the other review down below and several others that were eerily similiar to mine. It's as if she retreats after the tax season is over and doesn't want to deal with anything or anyone if it isn't an easy fix. I'm hoping to get my money back..but I'm thinking it was unfortunately, 150.00 dollars that I threw down the toliet. I would drive to her "office" but she works from home and she lives an hour and half away from us. I would hate to go all the way down there only to have her not be home, or simply not answer the door. I have 3 kids..and not a whole lot of extra anything. A HUGE dissapointment from Kim Brossomer at Inland Valley accounting. You've lost loyal clients and left a bad taste in our mouths. Terrible service, never returns phone calls or emails. I sent her a 2011 W-2 that needed an amended return on March 26, 2013. I have telephoned 4 times, emailed 4 times; no reply. The same thing happened last year when she did the entire return, but I hoped she could amend the original instead of me paying someone else to re-do the entire thing. I HAD been using Kim's services for years with no problems. Her tax preparation services have been less than desirable the last two years. Return phone calls are difficult to obtain and when they are returned it is usually by one of her office staff. Last year was the utmost insult!! I was LIED to on several occasions about the status of my tax return. I was told I would receive a call back from Kim regarding them, BUT, she actually did not even have my papers. I had sent them to her with a returned receipt request and three days prior to tax day that package was returned to me by the USPS. Thanks Kim. read more

We were referred to Kim by a coworker, and then warned of her services by another coworker. I had already scheduled the apt and my impression was totally different from the warning we received so we went ahead with the apt and drove out to her from South OC. Our apt went great and we were relieved to think that we finally found a new tax person. We each filed our taxes, but we also both had an addendum and to file our son's EZ taxes. Turned out we needed a couple more items for the addendum and to send our son's W'2's to her. We paid her for all services and sent her the necessary info within the next couple days (this was March 2014). I emailed to confirm her receipt of them. No response. I followed up. No response. Finally received an email May 21 stating she was out of town and would get back to me in the next week. By June 16 I hadn't heard from her so I followed up. No response. Followed up and called 3 more times and heard back Aug 21 that she was tied up w a family emergency and would be in contact the next week. Followed up and called twice more through September. Stopped by the house to just get our paperwork back and left a note on the door. NO RESPONSE. At this point, our son's W-2's are missing and unfiled, and our two addendum's and state taxes are still not filed (which are all very simple to do). We don't have our paperwork, and she has not provided the services we paid her for. UNBELIEVABLE! This has been the biggest headache and worst service EVER. We will be warning our coworkers and anyone we can about her and will also be filing a small claim against her to get our paperwork and $ back so that we can pay someone who will actually get the job done for us. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE that isn't even over yet. read more

We have been using Kim for our taxes for many years and up until last year hadn't had any problems. Then we needed to fix an error on our 2012 taxes and I faxed her the paperwork and actually spoke with her and she said she would take care of it. Just last week I got a notice from the IRS saying we owe them $8,000 dollars for that year because of that error. I also sent her our 2013 taxes just this year at the end of March. I have until May 22nd to file for that year or the IRS will be taking their next step against us and of course I've heard nothing from Kim. I call on a daily basis and no one has even answered the phone since April 15. I've sent e-mails and faxes, and still nothing. DO NOT USE HER COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!!!!! She needs to be shut down for what she is doing to people!!!! I will be taking her to small claims court to get my paperwork back. That's all I want is just my tax packet back. She has all of my paperwork. If she would just send it back I could go somewhere else. AGAIN DO NOT USE HER COMPANY!!!! You will be sorry if you do. read more

My experience with Kim at Inland Valley Accounting is almost exactly the same as the other review! I HAD also been using Kim for tax preparation for many years and although there were always some issues with return calls, I always managed to talk to her and get what I needed with enough persistence. However, the last couple of years were a nightmare. We were unable to get in touch with her 2 years ago when we received a notice of lein for back taxes. When we went to her in 2012 to have our 2011 return done we talked to her very openly about our concerns and she assured us that she would be available if we needed her and she was just having some personal problems. In early-mid 2012 we received a notice that we were being audited for 2 of our tax years that she had prepared for us. Despite calling her office and cell phone at least 2 dozen times and leaving MANY messages, talking to her assistant and leaving messages with her, sending text messages, sending emails and sending faxes, I have not received a single message back from her in over 9 months! I would NOT recommend her to anyone read more

Kim has been doing my taxes and my family's taxes for many many years and let me tell you, you will not find anyone better. She owns her own business and actually cares about the client. She owns and runs the business herself with some help from some employees and she knows all her clients by name. You are not just another paycheck to her like H&R Block or other places you can go to, which by the way will charge you over double what Kim would charge you and do a better job, guaranteed, just compare yourself. Don't be mistaken by other reviews on here, it's understandable to get frustrated over taxes every year but people hardly ever admit when they are a pain in the ass to deal with and are the first to complain about anything they can if things don't go their way (I think we all know the kind). She does everything she can to maximize your return and make you happy and will give you the honest truth about what she thinks works best for you.
