Being a whiskey enthusiast, I look for bottles that aren't going to be readily available at one of the large-scale chains (which will stay unmentioned). One of the stores where you can find some good scores is Inlet Liquors. You may say to yourself, a liquor store is just a liquor store where you buy a handle of Jack and a case of Bud Light to get hammered with your friends while watching football before stumbling to the strip club. Not true! Finding the right liquor store means finding a place where you can interact with the clerks who have actual knowledge on the type of spirit you want and recommend something you didn't know existed or plan to purchase. Inlet has been the only spot where I have seen a bottle of Michter's Small Batch Bourbon 10 Year -- rare if you know about what I'm discussing. Inlet had a display of newly and limited released Full Proof 1792 bourbon for a good price. Inlet had a bottle of Straight Rye 10 Year by Whistlepig. I found a bottle of Michter's American Whiskey that I hadn't found elsewhere outside of Miami. There was a distillery I hadn't heard of yet called Barrell that apparently makes some good eyes, which I will check out soon. With respect to whiskey they seem to shine when it comes to finding some bottles that are hard to locate. Granted I discovered a couple of other stores nearby that do too; however, what separates Inlet is thar I had a clerk who was engaging. That went a long way with me. {My first review was blocked because I used the actual verbiage between their employee and me, sorry} Ok, now I know I am validated for my previous review, read all the reviews, scary. The Inlet Liquor 2 on Okeechobee and Jog needs to be better managed. After being verbally assaulted by a female employee on Thursday, which I've actually heard her act for several months, but until she literally pointed at me and made a remark, I kept to myself because I take the higher road. But after being verbally and almost physically attacked today by the shorter male employee, after I left the establishment, because he told me I was banned because the day before I asked his female employee "what the **** did you say?" after she called everyone in the store "stupid ", then pointed at me and said "your stupid". I believe she was intoxicated and has been several times that I have been in the store. I think the third employee may be her spouse. Before her rampage yesterday, he stated "I thought you were staying in the back?", which caused me to check my back, not knowing what he wanted contained. It was the dark haired employee and that is when she started her rampage, I wonder if she was even on the clock. If anyone asks why I went back on Friday, after the dark haired woman treated me that way Thursday, I'll tell you why; I have been a respectful, paying customer for several months and it is convenient. She doesn't concern me, hence my return Friday. But what does concern me is the male employee chasing after women in the parking lot, even after he made "his point". read more

Michael at Inlet Liquor in Juno Beach (West Palm Beach?) couldn't have been more helpful when I called this morning to order a bottle of cabernet sauvignon. He talked me through the web site to help me order, and offered to deliver it tomorrow to my brother for his 80th birthday. I can't remember ever having a merchant who was so willing to help. Intersting selection of wine, some older than would normally be found(10-15 years old), but BUYER BEWARE. If you take a chance on any older wine and it turns out to bad/spoiled/turned, they will not refund your money or give you a credit. They might give you 20% off your next purchase, but I think that is inadequate. The staff's wine knowledge is not just lacking, which isn't unusual in a liquor store, it is also mis-informed which I think is worse than not knowing anything. read more

I should have posted this review to this store, as it's more appropriate... Anyway, I have usually shopped this store in the Crosstown Mall on Community Drive, because it's close to my home. However, after MANY requests to have the floor cleaned and/or changed, I have finally decided NOT to give this place my business anymore. MAIN REASON: The carpeted floor is absolutely FILTHY, BEYOND FILTHY, and despite my many requests over 7 years to get the carpeting CLEANED or REPLACED so I have a clean shopping environment, it has never been done. The floor could easily be re-covered with high-quality laminate flooring over the old and putrid carpet (after disinfecting, of course), and done after hours so that the owner does not suffer loss of business. The store on Okeechobee has such a floor, and is clean and pleasant in which to shop. But NO, the owner will not do that. It might actually cost some money and provide a clean and sanitary shopping environment for the customers. SECONDARY REASON: When I was in the store recently, the checker was very RUDE to me. Inlet sometimes has courteous staff, but I predict that this employee has a long and illustrious career as a grocery store checker, with his poor attitude and ill-mannered behavior. At this point, I will take my business elsewhere, but I am also calling the health department on this particular establishment, as it is probably a breeding ground for God-knows-what kind of disgusting disease, and as the checker told me, "The carpet's never gonna be changed".
