Weird vibes inside this place. I went in on vacation looking for some bourbon and wine, no one greeted us, no big deal. But then I had to track down a worker for help after being inside for a bit. I was friendly and said hello the worker was not friendly in return. Then when we went to check out there was a long line with only one cashier. This Total Wine was a fine place to shop. We wound up here as we were waiting to meet some friends for lunch, and they were running late. And as we'd never been here before, we thought we'd check them out. I'm not much of a drinker, but my husband needed to get a few things, and we decided to price compare some other items. As we were perusing their very well stocked shelves, we were approached by a gal with a new vodka that they were offerings tastings of and promoting. It was a bit early for me to have a "taste", but my husband did and said it was very smooth. We were also looking for some future gifts for some of our friends. So we also explored some of the liqueurs and spirits to see what brands they carry in store. He wound up getting a couple of very inexpensively priced wines and a couple miniatures. Came across a representative from Aviation American Gin whose name is Toni !! Super sweet and very personable! Beautiful clean organized store. My friend Elissa turned me onto Bacardi dark rum that I had never tried and also some creme de cacao . She bought a case of southern comfort and for hubby and he should be set for a long time. I liked how many different rums they had although Im usually a Vodka drinker I did not know the selection was so great. I will differently be back when I need more in a year or so. From where I live in the Acreage, this Total Wine is the closet to handle my whiskey fix. Since moving to the Acreage, I have bought several bottles of whiskey that I have enjoyed. I always have had trouble determining which plaza where I should make the left turn from 441. I've had to keep reminding myself it's the same plaza as Michael's, I think. Parking can be a little taxing with cars bursting in and out to go to restaurants like Chipolte and Anthony's Coal Fire Pizza. But fortunately, I find a spot that's about 50 to 75 feet from the entrance of Total. The staff are friendly and ring me up quickly once I have taken my sweet-ass time deciding what bottles I want to purchase for this specific occasion. My purchases could be bourbon (Booker's Granny's Batch, Elijah Craig Small Batch, Old Forester 1920, Redemption Wheated, Woodford Reserve Double Oaked), rye (Sagamore Spirit Double Oaked -- I like double oaked), scotch (Highland Park Valkyrie, Ardbeg 10 Year), Irish (Jameson), any other type of American Whiskey (Ironroot Harbinger -- that one has some boldness to it, holy shit on a shingle). I may go into the cigar humidor and pick up some sticks to smoke with my whiskey because, why not? Something worth doing, better do it right. So, yeah, you may prefer to go to a more local liquor store if you're trying to find something that's not going to be so readily available at Total. But Total, more often than not, will have for what you seek -- especially if you're not a whiskey snob like I am. read more

I absolutely LOVE coming to this store! The store is always clean and well organized. Even if you have no clue of what it is that you're looking for, you would totally find your way to that special bottle by simply reading their labels and or descriptions. The staff is so kind and super helpful. They give great suggestions according to what you share with them, as well as walk you to that bottle of wine you can't find because the label changed and you were not aware. I have to give customer service 5x5!!! I just made an order for delivery of three bottles to include 1L Hennessy and apparently the "dasher" was soo nervous she forgot the Hennessy. I called the store to tell them...DoorDash called me right after, I told the DD assistant what happened and he said that dasher said she only got two bottles. I told him if that's the case I'm sure the store will know, since they have cameras. I must say that a manager in Total Wine & More handled it awesome and sent one of their employees to bring us the Hennessy bottle we missed in the order. For a long time Total Wine was my favorite and for a number of years I bought thousands of $ of wine and beer...that is until I discovered that all of the points that I had accumulated had disappeared. (Also when trying to sign up for my military discount the ID.Me site I was directed to did not work). Not sure if there is a new management or they are just getting complacent. Total Wine has a great selection, but their customer service has a lot of room for improvement. The first impulse is always "we don't, we won't, we can't." It's completely unnecessary. A perfect example, I went to the Wellington store today for beer/wine. I had two twelve packs of Sam Adams. They have cases that they only want to sell a six pack at a time. I wanted the case box and asked if I could get a case for the same price as two twelve packs, instead of the inflated six pack price. I spoke with a manager who gave me a ration of s*#t about how they don't do that. They give boxes away for free by the registers, and she was hassling me over the box. At Total Wine, the customer is never right. In the end, I did not leave with the case of beer, but two twelve packs and an empty case box. I am completely annoyed that she put me through that. Even though I got my box, she made me work way too hard for it. An episode like this can make/break a relationship with a regular customer. You have the opportunity to win a customer for life, or risk losing one. Hopefully this will reach someone who can effect the store atmosphere. read more

Don't bother becoming a grand reserve member if you only purchase whiskey. The program is terrible and you never get selected to participate in purchasing hard to find whiskeys through their horrific priority grand reserve access offerings. Never again will I buy my whiskey and bourbon from TW when I can buy the same items at ABC and get rewarded by having access to their vault on a regular basis and purchasing rare whiskeys. The manager, Rob, was very rude to me and insisted it was my problem. He finally agreed to allow someone to take my order. We were headed to Coral Sky Amphitheater for a concert and needed to grab a few mini bottles. (How dare you accuse me of sneaking mini liquor bottles into a concert, I would never do such a thing ;-) ) I put liquor store and current location in my trust Yelp search and was happy to find a total wine within a few miles. When were entered the first thing I noted was that this Total Wine is smaller than those I am used to. They still have carts, but I think having one here may be a little cumbersome, especially near the registers. I was pleased to find that they were well stocked with mini liquor bottles, organized by liquor type and brand. I love anything little, so these minis excite me a little more than they probably do the average person. I was pleased to find so many flavored, and many of them were on sale for 99 cents. I grabbed a few sweet tea vodkas and a few peach vodkas to assemble my peach iced tea cocktail. My boyfriend grabbed a few cigars from the humidor. As I side note I popped into the humidor to check on him, my first time ever actually being in one, and it smells horrible in there! He assured me that every humidor smells that way, and said that the scent didn't bother him, I guess I'm really not a cigar person, but I'll think twice before entering one of those again if that's how they smell. As I mentioned the front register area is a little cramped, but our cashier was friendly and the transaction went smoothly. Let me preface this by saying I'm a regular customer of Total Wine, and merely stopped in to by a gift card for my girlfriend's parents after they took me on a cruise. I'm also 6'5" and 25 years old. After reaching the counter to buy the $200 gift card (and no alcohol), I realized I had left my ID in my luggage. I asked the manager politely if she could make an exception and make the sale considering it was solely a gift card, and she stated there was nothing she could do. I could not believe that she couldn't even sell me a gift card, and will never be visiting this store again. That manager clearly does not realize the importance of customer satisfaction, especially when there's no risk of breaking any alcohol laws. read more

I figured, ok, it's time to inquire and see if I get my $5 off yet. As a reward member, I asked the cashier when do I get the $5 off reward? I figured for every $100 spent, you'll get $5 off. That's a measly 5%. She says well, you only have 3000 points. You need 5000 points to get $5 off. I said to her, let me get this straight. If I'm not mistaken, you get 10 points for every dollar spent, thus I have to spend $500 to get $5 off? Yes sir. Me: do you realize that's exactly a 1% discount? Cashier: I know. THIS IS INSULTING TO ME. Why even bother having the program? At ABC wines, all I have to do is buy 6 cigars, regardless of price, and I get 10% discount! I had a crazy experience yesterday. I put together a gift basket for an upcoming fundraiser. The basket had 3 bottles including 1 bottle of sparkling rose wine. While eating dinner we heard a loud crash. Lo and behold the sparkling bottle burst and the basket fell off the table breaking 2 of the 3 bottles. I called Rob at the Wellington store to tell him what happened. I brought in the remnants of the broken bottles and he replaced them. That is customer service. I had a horrible experience with another Total Wine location in Orlando where I had placed an order for a case of sake for my wedding but after 3 weeks of calling to follow up I found out the order was never placed in the 4 times I had called. Good selection of craft beers, and reasonably priced; however, a horrible customer service experience. The aisles are almost impassable. Almost every aisles is clogged with portable staircases or carts being used to restock shelves. (Why can't shelves be restocked after hours?) Expect long lines at check-out too with few cash registers open, while lots of employees chit-chat at the customer service desk. Strangely, the staff is sorta passive-aggressive, especially the older guys that lurk in the wine section. Never welcoming, will ignore most female customers and will never offer samples. You may actually want to buy some wine! Why invite members to come in for events and tastings? So you can ignore them? Members get Special coupons which do not have UPC codes for some unknown reason and cashiers go nuts when you present a coupon and will tell you a number of crazy reasons why they can't ring it up. The guy recommended Double Dog Dare. So I bought a case and it is just awful. I almost can't drink it. I bought it maybe three months ago and still have about four bottles left.
