Several women attending mentioned this was there favorite place for wine because of the customer service. Usually, I go to the Total Wine in Wellington. However, when I realized the Total in Palm Beach Gardens (PBG) is about the same distance from my house in the Acreage, I decided to make my way there to check out their whiskey selection. Between the two locations, I like the PBG one better. The flow of traffic into the parking lot of Total in PBG is a lot easier to manage without feeling like there are other cars either riding your bumper or crossing your path without stopping. Given the location of the store in the back part of the plaza off of PGA Boulevard, driving there doesn't feel like you're gasing and breaking in a traffic jam. The route is smooth sailing. Upon walking through the siding-door entrance, the layout is relatively similar to the Wellington location, with some subtle differences. The primary one being they have laid out the welcome mat for their whiskey selection -- having an arched sign for the spirit in the center aisles of the store at the front, with scotch whisky to the left and bourbon, rye, other American, and Canadian whiskey to the right. The arrangements and presentations are more clean, polished, and easily accessible, more importantly, well organized. Additionally, they have selections of whiskeys by distilleries and producers that I haven't seen at other Totals. For example, I saw bottles of the Old Forester Single Barrel (that are allocated only for specific retail stores and outlets), which I hadn't seen on shelves until my visit. They had a sizeable number of Wild Turkey Rare Breed Ryes and Widow Jane Lucky Thirteen Bourbons. While I didn't get any whiskey per se on this specific trip -- because I have too many bottles at the moment, I did pick up two recommended bottles of pinot noir for under $20 a piece for my fiance, as well as a case of Busch for my future father-in-law. I will be coming back for whiskey on the next go-around, and wear a different mask so I can do some alcohol samples since the tables seem to be back in full swing on Saturdays. read more

Wine and liquor nirvana - let's call this a 3.5 rating. I like Total - I usually hit the one down in Boynton but lately I have been using this location as it is closer to where I am staying. The good: Huge selection of wines and liquors - you could spend the day in here browsing for new things to try. Unlike a lot of places that carry an aisle of red wine consisting of Cab / Merlot and a few others scattered around, Total has entire sections devoted to the different wine types. They have some very well versed employees in there in the event you are having trouble deciding and they are always happy to give you recommendations. The bad: This place just seems a bit unorganized. Boynton seems pretty well laid out and you can navigate the wines fairly simply. PBG is somewhat more daunting because sections do not seem to follow any particular pattern - could be fun if you have time to explore. Not so much when you want to get in and get out. Store managers are always lying to me. As you know a lot of allocated products are held in the back so people do not steal them or bombard the store. You simply have to ask a store manager for the product and they will bring it up front for you. Not this store. The managers lie to you half the time. While on the app I saw "Penelope Rio" a bottle I have been looking for a while now. It said it's available in store, not allowed to order online. "Ask a crew member". I went into the store and asked a crew member and he said they sold out. So I went home... not even a hour later my friend went in the store and asked for the same bottle and was able to purchase it. We stopped in here quickly on Saturday afternoon. My hubby had never been in a Total Wine + More, so I wanted to bring him along to check it out. This isn't a chain we had back in our NY hometowns and when we lived in California we would just buy beer/booze/wine at the grocery store. LOL, I get a headache trying to keep all of the state liquor laws straight! This location is conveniently located in a strip mall not far from the Gardens Mall. The store was somewhat busy since we were here on a weekend around 3 PM. They do have a nice selection of beer, wine and liquor. We came in specifically looking for beer since we have a crappy ABC near our house with limited inventory of brews. I spotted a specific section of Florida beers too! They have other items here that would be perfect small gift ideas if you are grabbing a bottle of wine on your way to a dinner party. I spotted items like Sugarfina boutique candy, which runs you about $8. I've heard good things about this brand, but I've been too cheap to try it! I'll go with 4 stars, I liked the other location I visited in Plantation a bit better because the aisles were easier to navigate and the selection of beers appealed to me more. Also, nobody asked me if I needed help! I usually like to have someone point out beer suggestions to me when possible. I always make a special trip to drive down to total wines. It's out of my way, but they have a good selection and good prices. However, when I was there today, no one was friendly. Every person I spoke to or asked for help was dismissive and rude. It certainly did not make me feel like coming back. Obviously they don't need my business. read more

This place has everything. I don't even really drink wine, I'm more of a craft beer person- but based on the size of the store, and the one time I wanted a orange wine and though it would be impossible to find- I think they do literally have everything. The beer selection is less than half the store, but still offers a selection like nowhere else I've ever been. They have some captain Lawrence beers I haven't seen outside of New York, as well as more beers from my old home state of Michigan.... I really can't believe it took me this long to discover this place... but now that I have I'm a customer for life! Finding bourbon barrel aged dark beers hasn't been as easy since I moved to Florida/ they just are not as popular here. I tried a lot of places and this is the only place that had any... and I'm grateful because it's my "not so secret" secret ingredient in my chili that I make whenever there's a hurricane... it's become a weird tradition. So if you ever want something unique or hard to find, try total wine because they have everything... and their website is very handy if you want check if they have something specific before you head over.... You can even see what aisle it's in! Awesome! And a note to all customers: please Just bring your ID, even if you are 60, if they ask for ID, and you don't have it, they cannot sell to you no matter how old you are or how old you look. it's the law. It's that simple. A manager can not change the law for you.... Law is not the same as "store policy" either, they literally cannot sell to you without proper ID. Granted they may not always ask, but please just come prepared- or wait in the car while someone with ID goes in... because it's annoying for us other shoppers to watch you throw a pointless hissy fit like a toddler and hold up the line because you didn't come prepared. I actually have to give total wine a 6th bonus star for being strict about this too, it shows as company they have a strong sense of integrity, and that they take care to make sure their employees are thoroughly trained and knowledgeable in more than just the product sold, but the laws regarding their sale. I ordered a DeVenoge Louis XV 2008 online and went and picked up my order the next afternoon. When I opened the bag I saw a note in there that said that the bottle I ordered was out of stock and she gave me an even better bottle (a 1995) at no extra charge. So so amazing and sweet! Headline: Slimy and Dishonest Today I bought two bottles of H3 Cab, which were marked as $11.97 on the shelf and rang up at $13.49. The store also stated they had the lowest price of Diet Coke in Florida. Not true: Walmart is 1 cent cheaper. Total amount overcharged $3.05. Damage to Total Wine's reputation: priceless To paraphrase Warren Buffet, it takes 20 years to build a reputation and 20 seconds to ruin it. The least this store can do is be honest with its customers. If you can't trust them, why shop there? Advice to HQ: Fire the store manager. He's not doing you any good when he runs the store dishonestly. Breach of trust is a no-no, in case you have not figured this out. read more

The store managers at this total wine are terrible. I went into this total wine to pickup a nice bottle of bourbon for a party tomorrow night. Specifically Jack Daniels 10 year. Because this product is allocated you are required to ask a staff member to grab you the product from the back of the store. I asked the team member and he brought me to the store manager who then lied to my face and told me it was out of stock. Then told me it was allocated and they decide when and who they sell it to. At this point I am thinking they are selling to their friends only. This is the only total wine I have had this problem. Really rude about the whole situation. I mean, when you are on a mission to find an Italian beer that you must have... because it's 99 degrees out....and you just need a beverage to take your mind off of it being 98 degrees out...you don't have time for pictures (sorry). I had never been to this store and Publix did not carry what I was looking for so I went to Total Wine. What a store! I felt my natural instincts would direct me to the proper ailse and quickly realized that I needed help. I asked a young man, who was able to find what I was looking for in a matter of seconds. I can't imagine them not having what someone is looking for. To be safe, I did check their website which showed me real time stock availability and they also offer curbside pick-up. The lines were a little long but I assume that's because it was hot and there was a rush. Even still, the lines moved quickly, my cashier greeted me with a smile and I left happy. This is my second time shopping at this Total Wine location for a Christmas gift: a six-pack of mix and match beers. Last time I made a pack of seasonal beers, but this time I made a pack of IPAs from Florida breweries. Although the store was packed due to the holidays, I was able to locate the section I needed easily. I navigated without assistance, as none of the many salespeople who passed by asked if I needed help, despite asking others who also lingered in the craft beer aisle. I found this surprising, as it did take me a sec to find the beer cartons and notice the IPA rack labels! I don't often buy beer so I'm not sure if the prices were 'good' or not, but my six pack totaled approximately $15, which was a very reasonable price for a unique gift for a visiting craft beer lover. So many checkout lines were available that I didn't have to wait at all, a nice surprise in a very packed store. read more

I am an active buyer of high-end wines, and I find the prices at Total Wine in most cases higher than on-line and other retail wine stores. Meanwhile, their liquor prices are very good. Decided to try a few different beers so we did a build your own six pack. Got home and when I poured one of the beers I noticed chunks at the bottom so I checked the expiration date and it was January 2021! Almost two years expired. I then checked the rest of the beers and they were ALL expired by at least 4 months. I brought them back and the manager apologized but hardly seemed to care. He focused on blaming it on the vendors instead of taking accountability that no one is checking their shelves for bad product. He offered a refund and that was about it. Had my experience been more genuine he could have maybe saved me as a patron but I won't be returning. Too many local breweries to spend my money at a chain location where they don't care about your experience. Shame. read more

I have a simple test for liquor stores that claim to be havens for bourbon: I look for George Dickel, one of the smaller distilleries with only a few variations. Not only did this store stock Dickel, they had the 9, the 12, and the single batch varieties (all at good prices). I used to spend a lot of money here but have recently decided to take my business elsewhere. Their prices creep ever upward and discounts for loyal customers are not very attractive. All of the South Florida Total Wine locations are *mostly* the same. They are similar layouts, containing basically the same mix of products. However, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't stop in when you find one outside your home neighborhood. I will say that beer-wise, this Total did not seem to have the strongest selection of special-release beers as compared to some others. Its redemption came in the wine section, where we were able to find a wine we'd been looking for that the Totals near us don't have - the affordable Napa Valley cab, "Educated Guess." This location also had a good selection of Fever Tree mixers, which always seems to be a little anemic at my home Total (possibly of my own doing). I also picked up a bottle of Siesta Key spiced rum that I'd been wanting to try. Worth a stop. read more

Total Wine and no Service. So maybe we are spoiled because of the store in Roswell, Ga which has unbelievable service. In fact, when we walk in that store we are greeted by an employee wanting to know how they can help. Fast forward to the Palm Beach Gardens location. We walk in store and you could quickly tell they were re-stocking. The store is very clean. We walked around for a little while looking for a specific bottle of wine. Finally we gave up and I asked an employee where we could find it. She seemed put out and simply just took us to the area where the type of wine was at. She did not take us to the name brand or even offered additional choices. Guess Total Wines at this location is no different than going to Costco's or Walmart for your wine shopping experience. Whats not to love about this place. I live right around the corner from this fantastic warehouse of alcohol. I'm glad I have this store right around the corner, I never have to walk far and the store is always going to have the lowest prices. For instance the other day Michelob Ultra in most store sells for 15.99 for 12 i found a 24case for 16.99. Also yesterday it was my friends birthday and we decided to buy a keg so we went down picked one out got a tab and ice simple easy and had a huge selection to chose from and you can actually pre-order a keg of craft beer ect.
