I phoned and spoke with the owner, and was informed she still had it, and - not requiring card payment over the phone, she decided to hold it for a couple of days until I was free and my wife and I could drive 200 miles to her shop on a Saturday. We arrived, paid her, and while there I saw and purchased a beautiful, quality onyx lamp my wife fell in love with. What great finds. The owner is very gracious and just a knowledgeable and lovely person. It has been over a year now and We are still pleased. I will recommend her to anyone. Prices on items tended to be a bit more hefty and the selection seemed more, how can I say,... "tan?" We went on a Saturday, which used to be a very busy time for them. But this time the store only had a couple of shoppers. Just couldn't put my finger on it, but it just didn't seem as interesting or inviting. The staff seemed a bit standoffish as well. That said, I had neither the time nor the inclination to spend the time to really give it a good shopping. Instead I found it overwhelming, so I just politely walked most of the aisles only looking at the things that really jumped out at me. And sure enough, the Vendor did in fact work with me on the price and I went home with a chair I really wanted. Actually, there is a little bit of everything that collectors hope to see at the Brass Bear at reasonable prices. In addition, parking is free and convenient at the front of the store. Stop by one day when you have a free hour to treat yourself.
