We loved it and highly recommend it to others. The whole property, from the common areas, the outdoor patios, the private parking lot, to our room, was immaculate. Our room - Touch of Grey - was small but spotless and tastefully appointed. Every employee we interacted with was super friendly and professional. Both buildings are elegant and charmingly historic while also modern and well kept. Location is part of its appeal. Directly next to the Naval Academy and a block from the famous and historic Dock Street. Easy to walk everywhere from here. Parking is tight in this area so access to a private parking lot is key. We hope to return to Annapolis soon and will definitely try to stay here again.

We stayed in The Law Library. The view from the room was fun--we could look out our window and see people walking around the town. You can't beat the location--you can walk everywhere. The architecture was so cool. The house had lots of acute and obtuse angles to fit on the lot between the city streets. The living room was so cozy. I wish my own living room could be so welcoming. We especially loved getting to know Maggie the dog, sweetie extraordinaire. The couple that runs the property are nice and down to earth. They have coffee out in the morning and the woman cooks a full gourmet Breakfast where you get a chance to meet the other travelers! You also have access to Tea/cookies and snacks throughout your stay. It really felt like home while we were there. Parking garages are nearby and they can hook you up with a half off discount code. We'll be back!

The rest of the house is fair game for guests. The rooms have different types of configurations, but all have private bathrooms. There are even some suites that are great for families. Our family, with two adults and two teens actually occupied two rooms and that worked well. Unlike other Bob& B's I have stayed at, we felt comfortable using the entire house & grounds, whether it was playing pool, watching television in the family room, fishing in the lake, or chatting in the kitchen. The kitchen is stocked with snacks and beverages at all times. A full buffet breakfast is provided daily. The options vary but I always enjoyed the yogurt & honey and fresh fruit, which was a staple. You will enjoy chatting with Tiffany at any time. She will do anything to make your stay more comfortable. For example, she offered to take our laundry along with her own to the wash & fold in town do we wouldn't have to spend our own time doing it. If you need a place to stay in Annapolis, I would highly recommend forgoing the usual hotel chains and trying Laurel Grove Inn.

There are framed sketches of the Ark and the Dove, the ships that are the namesake of the B&B, on the 3rd floor. I slept on the 3rd floor in the canopy bed and it was wonderful! The only downside (literally as well as figurtively, was the 13 + 16 stairs to get up and down there, but it was worth it. The location cannot be beat, about half a block from downtown. And you don't need keyes to get in /out- it's a combination. The hosts, Sandy & Sue, are delightful. Parking is on the street, and they provide tags. First time reviewer. Several issues with this place…read more 1: please call ahead if you are checking in early or want to leave your bags here. We arrived at 1 to drop off our bags and had to call to be let in. The on site person wasn't on site and we waited about ten mins then decided to leave our bags in the lobby. 2: the on site person was not there at 3:00. We had to wait until about 3:10 then the on site person didn't have their computer to check us in. The on site person didn't know our code for the front door and it took us asking about 4 times to finally get a code to the front door. 3: the house is cold. There are space heaters everywhere in the house, which helps, but I am not paying $400 a night to stay in a cold house. I will not be staying here again.

I've stayed at the Governor Calvert House four times in the last two years. The location can't be…read morebeat for proximity to downtown Annapolis and the Naval Academy. The historic aspects of the Inn are outstanding. The cleanliness is on point. Until my last visit, I would have sworn I'd stay there every opportunity I had. The only consistent complaint I have in all four visits was the AC either stopped working completely (requiring multiple engineer visits but the plus was complimentary wine) or was near broken and not cooling predictably. Other than that, this place was like my dream home away from home. However, there has been a significant drop in service by the front desk and reservation staff starting in fall of 2025 which has accelerated in spring of 2026. Over a four night stay in May, three mornings there was either no sugar, cream or coffee available during reasonable coffee times (7:30am) and I had to go to the desk to request restock. Also, someone reported to the front desk that a large roach was in the men's lobby restroom sink...the women at the front desk (also day shift) laughed and said they weren't dealing with it. These same employees made fun of some visitors who accidentally came to the wrong business by mimicking them after they left. I've received a few emails promoting an incentive for a return visit, but it has "?errors" all over it even when I open in different browsers. When I call about what it entails, I am told they don't know. And that's if I can get them to answer the phone. I've tried emailing and have received no reply after more than a week. Regretfully, I've booked another Inn for my next visit...I truly enjoyed most of my stays at the Governor Calvert House, but I don't like the direction its service has headed and it's too much money to spend for poor service. THIS DOESN'T APPLY TO HOUSEKEEPING OR THE NIGHT SHIFT EMPLOYEES-they continued to be outstanding.

However, the windowsills and shades are caked in dust. A bit disappointing especially since we stayed in the pure wellness room which is supposed to be allergen friendly and with an air purification system. The furniture with outlets basically all do not work, making it harder to find places to charge anything. The window by the bathroom is broken and was taped back together with painters tape. The bathroom wallpaper was coming off the walls and the shower curtain was falling out of the wall. We tried to twist it back up in place but the wallpaper and wall where it is screwed in appears pulled away from the wall and needs more serious repair. Lastly, $50 per day for valet when there are basically no other parking options is pretty steep and they don't openly share the cost upon check in... just beware of the cost in case you want to make alternate arrangements! If they took a little more care to clean less trafficked areas and ensure things are repaired and in working condition prior to guests staying in the room, this would be a really awesome place to stay.

One bottle of complementary water. Amenities: - Indoor pool and hot tub (felt hot). Nice gym - Stunning circular bar and fireplace. Drinks were pricy. - Shuttle to downtown can be picked up outside the hotel and to the right. Runs every 20 minutes on the hour. - Restaurants on-site but we went across the street to Carpaccio Tuscan Kitchen & Wine Bar which was fantastic - make reservations. Things to Note: - City garage for parking and you will need to pay by scanning the QR code with your phone to start the timer for your car (remember your license number). It took several tries to connect to the website and get it to work. When you leave, you just drive out and it recognizes your car. - Our room had a connecting door. I could hear the parents and child's talking while I were in the bathroom. This is a beautiful, comfortable hotel, and I would stay here again to visit Annapolis or on my way to Ocean City.
