The Westin Annapolis is a very nice hotel, I just believe I caught it at the wrong time and I have to rate it as such. I would definitely be open to giving it another try it was just my stay I am reviewing it on. First off, the entire lobby is under construction, so the bar and food options are nonexistent there. It's a shame as I'd have liked to visit the lobby bar but it was under renovation. It looked like it was almost complete though so hopefully that won't be an issue much longer. They did have a complimentary coffee station in the mornings though that I really enjoyed! The rooms were a nice, but I wasn't a huge fan of the shower. The shower could use a little tlc but by no means a deal breaker. I did think the rest of the room was very nice though. The view of the courtyard was also pleasant. I absolutely loved that downtown Annapolis was walking distance! It was an absolute gem to have this as you had a choice of so many restaurants and bars without having to drive. I thought the convenience factor alone is worth staying here for sure!! Now what took another star off for me is I was charged a night of parking and didn't have a car. I called to remove this charge multiple times and it was stated to have been completed but the refund never hit my credit card for over 11 days which was a frustrating inconvenience. Like I said, another stay could definitely result in a higher rating, just this one unfortunately had to two issues outside my control that hurt the stay in my eyes.

The new restaurant The Captains Daughter is a bust. I am a local and walked with a friend from my house. The bartender didn't know what wines were available (she did go and get a dinner menu so we could take a look). Of The two Chardonnays on offer she had one. The most expensive. If I request the Talbott and you only have the Benzinger then credit me the difference.... We had a drink then cut our losses. No way I'm going to risk eating at this place. Went next door to Sea Salt and spent the rest of our money there. It was good. This place is for desperate hotel guests only. Just like Morton's before it. It looks okay but is subpar at best.

The Westin hotel in Annapolis, Maryland is without a doubt the nicest place to stay when you visit Annapolis, Maryland! Whether for football games, or visiting a Midshipmen at USNA, or looking to have some fabulous shea crab soup here at the Westin Hotel restaurant ! You cannot go wrong! We enjoyed the most amazing meal whilewhile enjoying my birthday celebration at the Westin Hotel with surf and turf and finishing the meal with an amazing giant slice of carrot cake!

Stopped here for an overnighter with my BIC Hatt - we came to town to do some business with the big iron on our hip. This was the first time I have actually stayed here - and the place is on the upper end of the scale actually. Room was nice - bathroom was spacious and had a standing shower place with glass door. The bed was comfortable and had 4 pillows - which is 2 more than the standard in a regular room at other hotels I have stayed at. The breakfast and service the morning after was also good. Overall - upscale hotel and nice amenities.

I'll write more later, but this is about my initial impression and about check in. Others had posted that they were in construction mode and I was concerned, but no construction going on here! The lobby is quite breathtaking; I was surprised at the detail. Whatever it was before, they definitely did an upgrade. Check-in was a breeze took all of three minutes. I grabbed a to go salad and a beverage from there grab n go snack area; loved that they added it to my room without a big to do. I learned they have a free shuttle that will take me downtown for the concert I'm going to a Rams head. When I entered my room, the AC was already on. The room felt refreshed; sometimes hotel rooms will smell stale, but this had a fresh smell like they actually cleaned it for a new arrival. I'm only here for one night so I don't know if I'll try the restaurant but for what I need this to be the perfect set up.

Really nice spot,, I love that it's pretty close to the downtown strip. Also the amenities are always a plus when staying in a Westin. The beds are comfy, the heavenly experience is definitely something to brag about. Their soaps, shampoo and lotion is by far best in the industry. Definitely a nice place to rest my head when in out on a work assignment. I would definitely love to stay here again if given the chance. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!

Is there a restaurant in the hotel?

Yes. It's not the most fantastic restaurant, but it's convenient and nice. There's also another one or two within a minute's walk right outside the property.

We completed the Pre-Check in on the Hilton App (Gold Member) it allows us to select rooms and run your credit card thru. Then sends a digital key.. we hand selected 2 rooms. What went wrong: We arrived and the front desk clerk seemed bothered that we approached him. Told him I completed the digital check in and wanted a physical key for the second room (my father's 80, and wanted a physical key) he asked me for ID.. then asked for the credit card.. no problem. Then he asked me to swipe my credit card, which I informed him. I've already done the check in, just needed a key. He said I have to swipe the card.. I obliged.. he does the same for the second room. This whole time im challenging him bc this doesn't sound right. During this time, I notice 4 charges for the room come thru on my banks digital app.. weird but he insisted nothing to worry about they will drop off.. As a gold member you usually get a credit for the gift shop or credit towards breakfast.. nothing was said or no sort of welcome to the hotel.. just awful customer service Now the fun part, I get to my room. And I pull up my Hilton app.. I notice a TOTAL OF 4 rooms checked in... when I only booked two.. I call the front desk.. this doesn't seem right.. I also notice 4x the amount of money for room charged to my card.. over 1300 taken out of my account.. didn't seem right I go downstairs, composed but frustrated.. he explains that HE MADE A MISTAKE and will fix it.. keep in mind the 2 rooms I never got.. then he asked if I knew another guest with my same last name. Which I said I do not.. This made me worried and stressed during my stay due to him checking in extra rooms under my name.. Again, someone who travels for work and stays at hotels all over.. this was one of the worst customer experiences..from the unwelcome check in, to the over charges to asking me if I knew someone else staying there.. nobody ever called to apologize or said sorry. The only thing the front desk agent did was have the charges reversed quickly.. If you are staying in Annapolis spend a few more dollars and go elsewhere..

The historic aspects of the Inn are outstanding. The cleanliness is on point. Until my last visit, I would have sworn I'd stay there every opportunity I had. The only consistent complaint I have in all four visits was the AC either stopped working completely (requiring multiple engineer visits but the plus was complimentary wine) or was near broken and not cooling predictably. Other than that, this place was like my dream home away from home. However, there has been a significant drop in service by the front desk and reservation staff starting in fall of 2025 which has accelerated in spring of 2026. Over a four night stay in May, three mornings there was either no sugar, cream or coffee available during reasonable coffee times (7:30am) and I had to go to the desk to request restock. Also, someone reported to the front desk that a large roach was in the men's lobby restroom sink...the women at the front desk (also day shift) laughed and said they weren't dealing with it. These same employees made fun of some visitors who accidentally came to the wrong business by mimicking them after they left. I've received a few emails promoting an incentive for a return visit, but it has "?errors" all over it even when I open in different browsers. When I call about what it entails, I am told they don't know. And that's if I can get them to answer the phone. I've tried emailing and have received no reply after more than a week. Regretfully, I've booked another Inn for my next visit...I truly enjoyed most of my stays at the Governor Calvert House, but I don't like the direction its service has headed and it's too much money to spend for poor service. THIS DOESN'T APPLY TO HOUSEKEEPING OR THE NIGHT SHIFT EMPLOYEES-they continued to be outstanding.

The lobby rooms, while distinguished and unique, are actually quite small. However , the room with the glass bottom was extraordinary showing the original floor. The reservation process was awkward and non-informative and required three calls to get it right. The personnel were certainly polite, but they weren't knowledgeable about which of the hotels had an elevator, and which were more easily accessible for someone with a disability. In fact, one picture shows steps in front, but nobody seemed to know that you could walk around the steps to get into the hotel and that there was an elevator. The front desk was very polite and friendly. However, we reported a few things which weren't attended in a timely manner. The toilet was stopped up and we asked somebody to fix it before we returned but upon our return after an hour and a half it wasn't attended to. It took two attempts to get the TV to work with the remote. The technical employee was very nice, but it took two times to get it right. We were told the parking would be $29 but it turned out to be $50. That said the valets were very quick and accommodating. There is an app that manages the parking and they recommend a seven dollar tip. You decide. During the checkout process, we asked for a receipt, but the receipt did not include the total charge for the hotel at all. Also, the online receipt was very difficult to follow and needs improvement. The best feature by far is the extraordinary location on a red brick circle adjacent to the capital building. It is a beautiful location, a block away from downtown and all these great shops and restaurants. I thought that the rooms were extraordinarily clean. The carpet in the room was beautiful, and the furniture was distinguished. However, overall, the lighting was dark . It would've been nice if the room had a small comfortable armchair rather than just a bare desk chair. We did appreciate that the bathrooms had chair rails. The step-in shower was appreciated for someone with a disability. Overall, we appreciated some of the positive things about this hotel - especially the location. We felt the staff was eager to please but stretched too thin. Worth a visit perhaps, but we won't be returning.

The shower was clean but the water pressure was just a tad lower than I would have liked. They do provide the ability to change the pressure on the shower head so that helped with rinsing out the shampoo and conditioner. This was probably one of the cleanest bed spreads from a hotel.
