Ye-hawww! We wanted to be near Tombstone's action on our recent pilgrimage to southern Arizona, and the Inn History definitely didn't disappoint! Our room was replete with Old West decorations, period photographs, and a frontier ambiance while still providing all the modern comforts we "tenderfoots" appreciate. Though relatively new, the Inn History is right next door to one of the town's few original boardinghouses (claiming to have actually hosted Doc Holliday as a patron back in the early 1880s), AND it's just across the road to all the action on neighboring Allen Street - literally a two-minute walk. This, of course, makes it very easy to shop, drop off, and return without your vehicle leaving the inn's parking lot. The inn's complex consists of three buildings, with the upper levels providing commanding views of the distant mountain ranges (in our case, the Chiricahua and Dragoons). There's also a little outdoor commons area near the inn's front entrance with fire pits and a mock jail facade for photos - undoubtedly a nice spot to spend some time unwinding and gazing at the evening stars in warmer weather. Accommodation-wise, I have no complaints about our two-night stay. Water pressure in the walk-in shower was good and our king bed was comfortable. The room included a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and free wi-fi. And, true to its name, the Inn History provided a mini history lesson for visitors with "interactive" decor that allowed access to related information and historical tidbits through QR code tags. The front office let us know that we could call them if in need of anything; otherwise, they don't make it a habit of bothering guests during their stay. (We never needed to call.) On a tight schedule, choosing what to see around Old Tombstone can take some planning since most of the town's attractions "roll up the (wooden) sidewalks" around 5:00 pm, so it's really great to avoid the hassle of finding parking and, instead, being able to simply walking back and forth to your room. I wholeheartedly recommend making reservations at the Inn History if planning a visit to Tombstone; I know I'll be returning on my next visit, as well! read more

It's been about a year since our last stay (after being turned away by new owner of Larian Motel down the street -- he threw away all paper reservations and pretended not to be owner when we asked to talk to manager). Inn History just keeps getting better. It is such a refreshing change from its previous incarnation. Rooms are clean and charmingly decorated with WR codes describing many of the interesting photos and artifacts. Barry at the desk is a local who has worked at Inn History, its forerunner and the place mentioned above. He was super friendly, helpful and very understanding. One Advisory: Electric outlets are under side table on walls -- no phone device charging ports! (I use a CPAP machine and always carry an extension cord and plugs and cables.) This place is amazing! 1 block from the main drag of tourist attractions/traps. Wonderfully decorated and comfortable with all the history you're looking for. Friendly and helpful staff for anything you need. Laundry room and ice machine if you're road tripping that's a nice option. Some rooms have a mini drink fridge if you need one make sure to book a room with one. The owner Jeff did a great job restoring this property! Nice hotel on Fremont, mere steps from Allen St. and everything Tombstone. Real convenient. It was really hot when we were there, so it was nice to escape the heat easily in our hotel room for a break every once in awhile. Very clean and nice hotel. read more

This is a tasteful, trendy roadside motel at the edge of historic Tombstone. If you want a nice view out the tiny window, ask for a 2nd-floor room facing north into the prairie with mountains on the horizon. Otherwise, you'll be tucked under a walkway. The room was well insulated for sound, which was great because our neighbors were there to party. The bed was WAY too soft, old, and saggy with some old stains on the comforter. However, the linens looked and smelled fresh. The room is tiny. Everything is practical. However, the theme of the hotel is local history, so they decorate with exhibits of Tombstome history with QR codes linked to web pages that explain key elements of the town's history. Except for the upside-down poker table, the room is tastefully decorated. There are no bells or whistles to discuss, but it is a great, cheap place to crash during a tour here. read more

My wife and I stayed her last Tuesday night for 1 night in the Standard Queen room. We rolled into town at 7 PM and as I pulled into the parking lot of the motel I received a call with Caller ID of "Tombstone Motel". Answering it was the front desk getting ready to give me instructions since we were late arrivals. Since we were already parked I simply walked over to the office. Which was a bit confusing to find at first. We got checked in and everything was explained well. This hotel uses keypads instead of physical keys or key cards. Room was great and clean like the photos show. I might think twice about staying in the standard queen room just because of the size. Quite small but again no issues. My only recommendations would be a little more lighting around the property. We had the last room at the back of the motel on the first floor and it was hard to see as we were walking to and from dinner. Also adding a sheer curtain to the room window. In the morning we like to let in the natural light but I didn't want to open the curtains because otherwise it's a direct view into the room. Upon checkout I asked where I could park as we weren't done seeing the town. The front desk employee said we could stay parked at the hotel. Overall a great stay and employees. read more

Very little parking. No handicap parking I could see. Finding office was confusing 2 signs said off that way toward the back we parked and were looking for it and was told it was actually now in the front. Did not get a warm and fuzzy feeling at the front desk. We're not give a receipt for the $134.00 I paid in cash. I made the reservation over the phone they did not get a email so no text or email conformation. They don't have key cards but don't explain any of that at check-in. There is a keypad door lock instead. We got to the room very nice remodeled room. Took the decorative pillows and fake fur off the bed. I don't care for things on KY bed that are not washed every stay. No room phone to office. No ice buckets or wash cloths. Beds were comfortable. The shampoo and shower gel did not lather. The rooms had a microwave and mini frig. Would stay again. I found all of Tombstone that the business are not over friendly. Air conditioner filters need to be cleaned. I wish I would have checked at beginning instead of end. read more

We were so very pleased with our two day stay. The room was very clean and well stocked with toilet paper and fresh towels. We were surprised to see our room also had a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker which is rare to see now in standard rooms. The decor was so cute and had little QR codes on some of the art so you can look up history on the item or person photographed which we thought was such a neat feature. The hotel is literally a 2 minute walking distance from Allen street where all the fun is. Next time, we're in Tombstone, we'll be coming back to stay here. read more

I'd sum up our experience in one word, "Wow!" We booked the Superior King Room and were not disappointed. A very friendly Barry greeted us, gave us a map of Tombstone, and recommended some of the town's highlights. Now to the room: beautiful, modern, and spacious--a great value for the money. The Superior King Room is western-themed without being tacky. Someone has a sense of humor to make a ceiling light out of a gambler's card table. The decorative touches are delightful: leather/gold/glass light fixtures by the bed, complemented by the gold-toned light switches; a hammered-copper bathroom sink bowl; plenty of drawer space for storage; premium throw pillows; QR codes for history tidbits; a super comfy king bed; and a mini refrigerator and microwave that came in very handy. If you're heading to Tombstone, this is the place. read more

We had a wonderful stay this past weekend. We didn't know anything about the town of tombstone and it's layout and this hotel is perfectly located to walk the town. Our room was recently remodeled and was impeccably clean. Wonderful decor also. Our check-in people could not have been nicer, since we had Requested the wrong date of check-in and they were able to accommodate us with no problem. I believe we met the owner the next day and he was very kind and asked about our stay. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to tombstone. read more
