This has been my fifth time at this ranch and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The horses were wonderful, the wranglers were very authentic in appearance as is the ranch. They have a breakfast by the chuckwagon, which gives you the feel of the old west and one of the Cowboys had some great stories as he was serving us, cowboy coffee beans, bacon, eggs, and tortillas. They put a great effort into your experience of the old West. The best part for me was the riding. I love that if you are competent, you can go on a fast ride and I mean fast. Tyler took me out and the ride was fast, thrilling and one of my best rides ever. Thanks.

I stayed 7 days at a Whispering Hooves horse camp in this guest ranch. The grounds are beautiful. The horses are so good and want to please if you're a good leader. The cattle drive was exciting. There are 4 barn cats that are super friendly and fun to watch. Arizona Bill is a legend and served Cowboy coffee outside at the fire pit. His stories were memorable about the history in Tombstone. He also offers a haunted tour at night in Tombstone. The chuckwagon breakfast was the best tasting food I ate during my stay. The steak during one of the dinners was also great. There was a barn dance that offered hamburgers and hotdogs along with live entertainment. The wranglers were good. There is a full bar available for social time with the locals. There is a peaceful horse graveyard that is just a few minutes walk from the hotel. On one night, Arizona Bill dealt a fun game of cards. On another night, the tall bartender dealt a fun and illegal game of cards. We saw javalinas, cardinals, dogs, rabbits, cats and deer. Overall, many memories were made. It is customary to tip the staff. The little store has lots of merch at a decent price except the $65 red large silk scarf which I did buy and wear. Don't forget to use a stampede strap for your baseball caps and cowboy hats. We had strong wind gusts during a few rides. Bring your own glasses with a foam seal to keep out the dirt and make your ride more comfortable. Enjoy!

Great riding experience. When they say fast ride, they mean "fast ride". Nice horses great staff with a special shout out to the wranglers Christina and Alicia for great rides. Fun activities, nice accommodations and an all around fun time!

This place is a few miles outside of downtown Tombstone. Room rentals, ATVs, Horse back riding, a small bar and limited kitchen for meals each night that require a reservation the night before. I came here for the live music and a cold drink away from the tourists downtown. Music was good old school country. Bartender was extremely nice. It's worth checking out if you want to get off the beaten path.

Great stay at this SouthWest treasure. Clean and rustic, the ranch is steeped in Tombstone history. Loved the music in the bar at night and Cliff was a most gracious and informative host. Horseback riding on this authentic working ranch. Definitely recommend.

Great place to visit. We are celebrating my brothers 50th bday. The buildings are the actual rooms and the town is full western. The staff is great and the food was good also. We are horseback riding in the morning

Beautiful Location, Great Themed Rooms, Great surrounding beautiful Mountain Views in an OLD WEST Setting. So close to Tombstone, but you really are in the middle of nowhere which is a great thing for stargazing and the QUIET...so much QUIET!!!! The number 1 thing though is truly the staff. Melissa is the best ever to welcome you at the front desk. Movie star BRI the bartender was fabulous. Tony the chef makes amazing food and Billie runs the dining room like a well oiled machine. Thanks for making our stay so special to the entire crew!!!! Also get morning coffee perked right on a campfire at the chuck wagon by a real cowboy ( great service by him also, but I didn't get his name. Definitely stay here for a unique experience!

A fantastic accident! All the motels were full for the Tombstone Cast 30th Anniversary. The TMR website said only 4 rooms were left. It was a bit more expensive, but WORTH IT! Arrived to a working dude ranch and motel built in the old west style. So cool! Upon check-in, Melissa gave a personal tour of the amenities, with some history info, that ended at the room. Stayed in the "Marshall's" room. Two queen beds with lots of room. In room coffee maker & mini fridge. A really cool armoire with hangers, extra towels and a safe. Adequate bathroom, nice shower head. Ice cold AC! Really nice memory foam bed. Slept like a rock! Horseback riding, shooting, archery and even the full ranch hand experience are offered. Chuckwagon breakfast some mornings, with real cowboy coffee! Other mornings a real breakfast buffet is included. Lunch at noon and dinner at six pm are available, but if you're late, you don't eat! Full bar with a pool table and evening entertainers. Such fun to sit on the porch in the rocking chair and talk to the stars (actors from the movie who stayed there) as they walked by. Swam with one of them in the large, clean pool. An amazing, wonderful and surprising experience. So glad the rest of the town was full!

We loved our stay here. When I saw this online I thought that it would be hokey, but it was enchanting. The staff makes you feel so welcome- unlike any other place you've stayed in. We decided to go with their food plan, and we're glad we did. Once you get here, you don't really want to leave. The food is perfectly prepared and served with a lot of love. Every time we asked for something an employee smiled at us and actually looked like they enjoyed making us more comfortable. We'd love to come back with a big group.

The whole property looks like an old Western town.

So amazing!!!!! This place is so off the beaten path and being a Californian, I would call this experience, "Glamping." All of the rooms are western style themed and the property itself has so much history. This hotel used to be a Homestead and the owner of the ranch is buried not too far away. They offer horseback riding, camp cookouts, there's a swimming pool, a dining room and a bar with live entertainment on certain nights. The city of Tombstone, AZ is only a few minutes away by car and there is a nice older gentleman by the name of Bill, who offers tours in the city, by group or privately, if you request it early enough. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms, but our bathroom could have been much bigger and the beds a little newer, and up-to-date. The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful. You can tell by the way they interact with the guests and how they treat the hotel overall how much love, respect, time and dedication is shown here on a daily basis. All of the animals appear to be well groomed, well fed and well treated. FYI people, this is a ranch. Our room was located somewhat near the stables. The noises that the horses and cattle make, will not keep you up or annoy you, but there was an unusually high amount of flies and other insects in the area. Yes, the summer heat does bring more insects to any general area, but I just wanted to let you guys know, so that you wouldn't be surprised. The A/C worked great, by the way. I only was able to stay here one night due to unforeseen circumstances, but I will definitely stay here again upon my return to the city of Tombstone.

Fantastic place ! My husband and I spent 4 days there for my birthday. It's set up like a little western town . The room was great ( there were actually two nice rooms , we only really used one ), big bathroom , and extremely clean . Great bar , great staff , and great horses. I spent 3 days riding an adorable Fjord horse named Deputy. I can't say enough good things about this place . I loved that it was small . I think there is only around 20 rooms ? They have activities every day , and you can also drive into the town of Tombstone for historic fun and shopping.

We spontaneously booked 3 rooms to make family memories and that's what we did! This was the best experience. Clean rooms. Good food and drinks. Fun, festive, western atmosphere. And very kind helpful staff. We booked a morning time beginning horse ride and it was perfect for our kids. We will definitely be back.

This guest Ranch just 2 miles from town is my favorite. The rooms are beyond spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The food is great and the homemade pies were amazing. Horse back riding thru their little "Main Street" was very cool. We will be back!

It definitely makes you feel like you are walking through history. We happened to arrive in the afternoon and spent the first hour or so walking around checking everything out. When we were ready to take a stagecoach ride and do some of the activities like the OK corral, a lot of things were already closing down for the day. I wish we had known that beforehand so that we wouldn't have been such lollygaggers . We did meet a cowboy on the street near the old wild West town who said that Tombstone is a "strange place" that pretty much shuts down by 4:00 p.m.. He said the bars and restaurants would be open until about 8:00 or so and then the town would be totally dead, but that we should definitely return in the morning for the wild West shows and shootouts. We were able to do a couple of things and decided to spend the night, but we were actually able to make a reservation for a different activity in the morning so we headed out. Still we enjoyed our time in Tombstone and definitely recommend a stop here, especially if you're in the area.

I expected to see what Tombstone may have looked like in the days of Wyatt Earp but with the shops and the changes so you have to pay to see anything, the vibe was just not there. I also expected to see people dressed in period costumes, but nope. Others have commented about how you have to drop $10-$12 to see a gunfight then pay again to see a show, then pay again to see the mine, then pay again to see something else, it adds up quick. And walls were built so you can't see anything without paying. Old Tucson seemed more realistic. Is there anything surviving from the Wyatt Earp days? Maybe, but with fires and renovations over the decades, I'm not sure what. We enjoyed seeing the RoseTree, and the Cowboy Coffee shop and talking to the slacker. (The third brother) The food was good at the saloon. Then we were ready to go.

Freshly arrived from checking-in to our nearby hotel and thirsty from the 8-hour drive, our party decided to grab cocktails and a bite to eat somewhere along Allen Street. We quickly realized that most shops and businesses close around 5 o'clock (which was approaching), so choosing the Longhorn, with its extended hours and large menu, was a no-brainer. We started with a couple of Bloody Marys and a blooming onion appetizer. The Marys weren't particularly spicy but were well-made and traditionally garnished. For an extra charge ($5.00, I believe) you could even purchase a souvenir glass. The blooming onion was also prepared well - not greasy - and came with a tasty dipping sauce I also used on other foodstuffs later. For dinner, my wife and I split the Dunkin' Burger (with french fries) while our friends ordered the New York Steak, baked potato, and a salad. I, personally, didn't think the dipping au jus did anything for our burger since the Angus patty was flavorful and the Texas Toast was soft and crunchy, so I opted to spread some of the onion's heretofore mentioned dipping sauce on it, instead. No complaints from our friends on their steak, which was still sizzling upon presentation and came with a large dollop of garlic butter. Do note, the Longhorn charges a plate-splitting fee, but we were informed of this in advance. We waddled out stuffed and satisfied. The following morning, we found that most businesses didn't open until 10 o'clock; so, being early risers, back it was to the Longhorn for breakfast! I was really blown away by the Country Fried Angus Steak and Eggs I ordered. Hefty, thick yet tender, and topped with a rich country gravy, the steak took up the entire plate (leaving room for the eggs only on top of it all). My wife's simple order of French Toast and bacon paled in comparison, though it was equally to her liking. It was a great way to start our long-anticipated day of exploring Tombstone's shops and attractions. The restaurant's decor beckons diners to explore Tombstone's history through the period photographs, artwork, and artifacts that adorn the walls in the two main dining areas. The backlit stained-glass murals are beautiful, casting a golden glow throughout the interior, and the furnishings perfectly reinforce the town's western motif. Another praiseworthy facet of the Longhorn Restaurant is the staff. Our two servers, Melissa for dinner and Shelby for breakfast the following morning, were so sweet. Melissa, learning we had just arrived into town, offered to snap several seated photos of us, and Shelby gave us a variety of suggestions for points of interest, attractions, and events that would be taking place the day we were there. Our sincere appreciation is extended to both these friendly, hardworking ladies! In all, we really enjoyed both our visits to the Longhorn Restaurant. Prices were actually cheaper than what we anticipated in a town relying largely on tourist dollars, the food and service were on point, and the overall vibe fell right in line with what a lover of western history would expect. Thanks to all; we hope to visit you again next trip!

Even on a Tuesday afternoon in mid-April, this joint was bustling with live music, servers rushing about in their period costumes, and the chatter of happy patrons enjoying themselves and taking it all in. Whether a lover of frontier history, western cinema, or just plain ol' drinking in a genuine saloon, Big Nose Kate's screams, "WELCOME TO THE TOWN TOO TOUGH TO DIE!" Upon entering, our party was seated in a raised section above the main floor near the front windows. It was an excellent spot to see all the action (including a monitor playing the movie Tombstone, BTW) as we perused the menu of appetizers, entrees, and libations. The selection of specialty drinks was impressive, though I opted for a simple "Big Ass" draft pilsner (flavorful and locally brewed). My wife did order a Cowboy Sangria - and it appears wimpy drinks "don't go around here, Law Dog," because she thought it was good but a bit too strong. I actually had to finish it for her. (Such a chivalrous sacrifice!) But don't assume that Kate's is just a drinking establishment; there's quite a variety of eats, as well. Good-sized, tasty looking burgers and sandwiches passed by our table, which were tempting; however, not being overly hungry, we decided to sample a few of their appetizers as we moved on to another round of beers. The Buffalo Wings were good but nothing really special. The Soft Pretzel Basket - actually one HUGE pretzel served with cheese and mustard sauces - was warm, salty, and much bigger than anyone anticipated. It was enjoyed by our entire table. When visiting, don't neglect a trip to the gift shop, which can be accessed from a spiral staircase right in the center of the dining area. Their menu recounts that a part of this underground area was once the abode of the saloon's swamper, and you can even view his living cubby and mining tunnel when below. Of course, there's lots of branded swag available for sale down there, too! Big Nose Kate's Saloon is a must-see stop for Tombstone visitors. Priced aren't exorbitant, portions are generous, and the food and drinks are pretty darned good, as was evident from the satisfied looks of the diners and drinkers around us . You may even be approached by Steve, who offers FREE photos (from your personal camera or phone) with props and piano-top poses - now how can you beat that value? Make it a point to come on in, belly up to the bar, and enjoy the saloon's hospitality.
