Our son got married this past April 27th and they booked two rooms for the event- one for the bride's entourage and one for the guys. Rooms were perfect, comfortable and really made the getting ready, photos and mimosa time precious and memorable. Staff was very helpful with the odd and end request and I really highly suggest spending a night here and enjoying the shops and such on the main road. read more

What a fantastic place to stay! Check in was so easy, with no required stop at the front desk. Room 206 was classy, cozy, super clean with great air con. Coffee and spring water bottles were refreshed daily. A refrigerator preserved my collection of doggie bags from Main Street. I'm going all out to compliment because I did not expect...the super comfy mattress, indulgent pillows, fluffy towels, amazing shower pressure and a wide balcony overlooking the restaurant patio filled with flowering plants and locals. This is my favorite place to stay when visiting family at the Jersey shore. This hotel is absolutely beautiful, elegant, clean and in a great location. I've stayed here twice now and I love the fact that there's no front desk - check in/out is done all via text or email on your own time, never feeling rushed or pressured. (The first time I stayed here I did have several questions while packing for my trip and I was easily able to contact them through my booking app and received a response via email but they also say you can text them if you need things for the room during your stay.) The hotel itself is on Main Street, parking lot brightly lit with plenty of spaces - the lot can feel small but we drive a pretty large camper van and backed in just fine. There is a restaurant on the ground floor, so when walking in you're usually not alone. The restaurant staff has been friendly and greeted me both times. They have key codes for after hours entry and for the rooms. It feels very safe and is in a safe location on the main street in town with little shops and restaurants. I've stayed both with someone and by myself, and I've felt equally comfortable both times, even coming in later in the evening. As for the rooms, they're immaculately clean, from the linens to the bathrooms. Rooms are spacious with upscale furniture, lush carpets and nice pillows and bedding. The showers are perfect, high water pressure, they get super hot, plenty of towels, bathrooms have a fan, hair dryer under the sink. I did not use the complimentary shampoo/conditioner etc this time but my husband and I did last time as they smell wonderful and are very clean ingredient-wise. One thing I particularly loved about my most recent stay this early December is that they decorated for Christmas, having lights on my balcony and decor on the night stands which was such a nice touch - the balcony was gorgeous and really added to the experience. It's pretty quiet, obviously there will be people above and below the hotel there is a restaurant - if you want it super quiet, I suggest staying on the third floor as we did the first time. They also limit children so it's perfect for a romantic getaway or honeymoon suite. All said, this is a wonderful place, I'll stay here every time I'm in this area. read more

Val R. in his response here to my original review and complaint said " THEN, he NO SHOWED and never cancelled, quite a nasty reward for our rare accommodation". As I explained to him, I was in the ER with my daughter and could not leave her side. When I called on Saturday and delineated this to him and simply asked to change the dates and he refused. He is also two faced and can't be trusted on his word. Here is what he said to me over email, "If for some reason we had to change the dates, is there any penalty for that? Val R's reply - Yes, $75 for anytime cancellation or modification. If new date is imminent, we may reduce or waive". He would no honor this when I called, because he has no honor. read more

This is a lovely inn--beautifully furnished, wood floors, fireplace, tv, and incredibly comfortable bed and linens. Lots of feather pillows. It feels luxurious. The bathrooms are nice size and have lovely hair and body products. The room is incredibly clean and quiet. It is all self checkin and very easy. There is a restaurant downstairs and walking distance to other restaurants as well. If you are looking for a quiet place in a coastal town, then this is for you. I stayed at this hotel over Memorial Day weekend as I was attending a wedding. There was a USED SEX TOY underneath the bed in our room. When we called the help line, the owner (Val), was dismissive and rude. Instead of offering to send a cleaning crew or even apologizing for this obscene oversight, he told me that I shouldn't be calling him at 12:30 AM, that I was rude and that he was terminating my stay. I had to submit a better business bureau claim to get any sort of apology (which was a cheap bottle of prosecco vs. comping the room for the night). As you can see by many of the negative reviews, Val is really not cut out to work in the hospitality business. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want to find USED SEX TOYS in your room and then be told you should just check out instead of having management deal with the issue. Absolutely disgusting. read more

I recently had the pleasure and the experience to stay at Inn on Main in Manasquan. We live local to Manasquan and I thought it was an exceptional place for my guests who are coming in from out of state to celebrate our wedding venue was at Clarks Landing your club and the enemy was a perfect place for all my family and friends. It was like home away from home cozy very clean and walking distance for all my guests and family to all the shops and restaurants. I would give it more than a five star I would give it a 10 for all the amenities close to everything in the bedroom was cozy fireplace very clean comfortable and accommodating. I give this inn zero stars! If you are looking for compassionate and caring customer service you won't find it here. I had booked a night at the Inn as a special treat for my daughter and I. Unfortunately my son came down with Hand, Foot and Mouth which is highly contagious so we had to postpone our trip. I called the Inn to explain the situation and they were not flexible with giving us a credit to rebook the room for another day in the upcoming week. I asked to speak to the owner and the owner did not even take the time to call me. The owner kept having the front desk personnel be his/ her mouthpiece. I totally understand a no refund policy but in circumstances such as this I would expect that a credit to book the room in a certain time frame would have been permissible. Needless to say I will not be staying here ever. I specialize in customer service as a profession so I know that there are things you can do to keep patient loyalty. Obviously the Inn on Main does not understand or does not want to make the effort to understand the art of great customer service. read more

I booked hotel for a visit to attend a friend's memorial. My husband contracted covid just before our scheduled visit. Management was inflexible about the cancellation policy which requires 2 weeks notice. Eventually they offered to refund one night only if they could rebook the room which they did. I believe they rebooked both nights, but still would not refund for 2nd night, continuing to cite their policy. Given these difficult pandemic times we're living through, I think Inn needs to have some flexibility regarding cancellation in the case of a positive covid test. The unintended consequence of their policy is that someone who tests positive, but is not sick, might show up so as not to lose their money. The current policy, in my opinion, potentially creates an unsafe situation for guests and staff. read more

There are no reviews because there is no service. Try and make a call to the place it's impossible if someone does pick up and say they will call you back they dont. This is only the beginning. The rooms are jammed on a busy noisy street next to a huge intersection. They are overpriced. Do yourself a favor if ur paying these prices go to a bed and breakfast down with-in walking distance of the beach in Spring Lake. Or any other of the local towns. This is not near a beach and the service is non existent, why bother? Delinquent in ur review it's been 9 months!! Similar to never returning calls. Where do I start?? First off, you will notice a common theme on all the negative reviews; nothing is the owner's fault and he has excuses for EVERYTHING. He must be paying Yelp a lot of money to maintain his three star rating... There is not a soul staffing this Inn, however they have the gall to leave an envelope for "Gratuities for the Staff". Seems pretty presumptuous to me. The owner is incredibly shady, and will charge your credit card IN FULL as soon as you click confirm. Obviously that helps his predatory cancellation policy, but never in my travels have I been charged in full for a hotel MONTHS before my stay. The only reason people stay here must be because it is the only Inn in town. My suggestion is to save yourself a lot of money and trouble and book your stay in one of the neighboring boroughs. read more

I'd never been to Manasquan before, so I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Inn is located on the corner of a street that has a gas station, an Acme grocery store, and a 24 hour 7/11 -- very convenient if you need stuff late at night. There's no check-in at all. You simply go to the door, punch in a code they give you, go upstairs and do the same. You're in your room in seconds. No waiting in line, no being stuck behind other guests, you just walk up and boom, you're in. There's another review here that complains about the self check-in, but I for one LOVED it. Not having to deal with someone in person and just walking up to get into my room was awesome. The phone number that you call if you have an issue was busy a few times when I called and I eventually left a message. They called me back with the information I needed in about 3 minutes, very quick and courteous. The Inn is about half a mile (maybe a little bit more, I wasn't gauging it) from the beach. Sure, you could stay closer, but you'd pay way way WAY more than a couple hundred bucks a night to stay that close to the beach. Should there be breakfast? Sure, I'm sure there could be. But there's restaurants and diners right down the street (some right downstairs) that you can go to, which is convenient. We stayed in room 305 which had a private balcony, a very nice bathroom and a wonderful fireplace. The mattress was a bit too firm for our liking, but that's more our preference than a problem with the mattress itself. We stayed just two nights but will definitely plan to come back here the next time we come down to the shore. read more

Not only are the rooms extremely clean and spacious, everything from shower curtain ring, bath linens, bed linens and furnishings are simple and elegant - everything has been carefully thought out and it shows! (Even the hallways and exit staircase have been recently renovated.) We chose this room because it faced the back and we wanted a quiet setting. And yes, it certainly was quiet and peaceful. Had my wedding in New Jersey. Booked a room, and friends booked like 4 other rooms. Everyone loved it. I had no problems bringing the camera man in, my bridesmaid. It was great. Although I did let them know that it'll be a wedding. I heard they're picky with that stuff so I let them know it advance. Rooms are beautiful. We had the one with the fireplace. Beautiful interior design and the carpet was clean and soft. I was worried bcz of the other reviews but I think as long as you act nice, don't bring a party up with you, you'll be fine. read more

The owner just replied to my review about his establishment. He decides to lie saying that I bought a Groupon 3 yrs ago for off season dates instead of just owning the fact that there was an error and rectifying the situation. I picked the dates and paid the price based on the dates I chose and I booked it 5 months prior NOT 3 years. It ended up being resolved only because I reported it to my credit card company and was eventually refunded for the error that was both the fault of the owner and Groupon. Again, I did not even stay on the property, this was my experience with the owner, he was rude and dismissive. He will probably respond with more lies and negativity instead of being honest and taking ownership of a mistake in booking. read more

I've stayed here two times in the last three months. On the surface this seems like a nice place and the online pictures look great. But wait, looks can be deceiving. A room assignment on the second floor means staying up all night listening to people walk around the room above you. Noise proofing is nonexistent, so be prepared to hear hallways conversations in their entirety. Plumbing is poor: toilets don't drain completely; at least 20 minutes is required for water to drain from the shower. There are envelopes in the bathrooms to tip housekeeping, but you'll never need to use them since rooms aren't serviced during your stay. Since there is no one on the premises, be sure you have the correct digits to unlock the doors. After my second stay here, I am certain I will not rebook if the decision is mine. The surrounding area, however is nice - quick jog to the beach; a couple of great restaurants within a couple blocks; overall friendly people in the area. read more

I bought a groupon getaway package for this Inn. I had a reservation for two nights, a friday and saturday, and unfortunately had a death in the family the tuesday before. Because of funeral arrangements, we had to cancel our reservation. The Inn is planning on charging us a cancellation fee if the room does not get booked, despite the unfortunate scenario. Whoever i spoke to was very rude and even compared a family death to a couple that was fighting and didnt want to go on vacation. Groupon on the otherhand was completely understanding and fully refunded my entire reservation. We will not be returning to that hotel, ever. read more

They display a phone number in elevator if you have any problems... Owner informed me its 101 degrees outside do nothing he can do... I have to say, i was wary when I saw some of these yelp reviews, but honestly, our experience couldn't have been better. I grew up in Jersey and now live in Manhattan, but LOVE going down the shore any chance I get. Now, for those of you familiar with central jersey shore accommodations, let's be honest...more often than not, they are pre-tay shifty and definitely fall within the 'motel' category, but hey, i don't put on airs and as long as i'm down the shore, happy to stay anywhere clean. NOW, let's talk about The Inn. This place is beautiful, quaint & spotless. WAY higher quality than 99% of hotels down the shore, I promise you that!. Some people have issues with the lack of a front desk, but that was one of my favorite parts!! No line to check in, no hassle, just go straight to your own room? PERFECT! As for our room, it was amazing & clean. LOVED the huge gas fireplace and balcony. Plus, all the little extras were a great finishing touch. Mini fridge to keep beverages cold, 2 wine glasses and a nice cork screw (how did they know we'd bring a bottle of wine ;)), nice shower products in the bathroom & free wifi. Had a bad experience with this hotel checked in on a Friday night and there is no front desk you are given a passcode to type into a key code on the room you are assigned and it didn't work after driving three hours from New York City had try and track down the hotel manager/owner which took a half hour to get a new code and to find out the room that I reserved was booked to someone else and I was given a less as nice room in a bait and switch type of deal. I then got my credit card statement after staying at the hotel and was billed for two nights although we only stayed one night and had to argue with the owner/manager for weeks and he refused to refund the second night. My credit card company disputed the second night charge and the hotel owner/manager had the nerve to send a collection agency after me!!! Hotel experience was less than satisfactory. read more

We were on the top floor and the room was beautiful with vaulted ceilings and such. There is no concierge desk. You punch in the number provided and go straight to your room. So basically if you need anything (forgot things) rather than going to the front desk, you are screwed. The thermostat would only go to 75 and the room was FREEZING. So I did that and turned on the fireplace. Also there was one trash can (in the bathroom) for the whole suite. A bit confusing. But otherwise, it was gorgeous. read more

After about 4 weeks of looking at their website, I booked a room at the Inn on Main at the end of April for a mid-September stay. Several days later I received an email from the owner of the inn saying the rates for our booking were incorrect and to contact them. I called them and was informed that unless I paid an extra $150 (we had already paid for the rooms in full), our reservation would be canceled. I was told that the rates on the website were a glitch of a new reservation system and that the extra $50/day was a deal because it should have been $90/day. I told the owner that was unacceptable but he kept insisting that because it was over 4 months from our stay, that this was not an unreasonable request. He told me I had one week to accept the deal or he would refund our credit card. I looked up the NJ law and it stated that if a room is advertised at a certain price and it is available, it must be sold at that price [ http://www.state.nj.us/dca/divisions/codes/codreg/pdf_regs/njac_5_10.pdf] (I should note that I reserved a specific room, room 206, and that to make a reservation, available rooms and their prices were displayed). I conveyed that information to the owner but he kept insisting that it was a website glitch and that I needed to pay the extra money. I told him it was his website we purchased our reservation from, not some third party like Expedia or Travelocity, and that he was responsible for maintaining his website and making sure that the information provided was accurate. In the end, the owner cancelled our reservation and we booked a stay elsewhere. He did not provide us the advertised room at the rate that we booked at. It would be like an airline company calling you after you booked your flight to request more money or your ticket will be canceled. If I could give 0 stars I would. EDIT: While I did not stay at this hotel, that was because my reservation was CANCELED due to my refusal to pay the hotel owner more than I had already paid him. He keeps calling the rate I got a "glitch", but in reality it was his negligence to do his due diligence when switching to a new reservation system that got us into this in the first place. I have the ceiling fan on and the window open and hoping it cools down before I have a melt down.... it also doesn't help that Donald Trump is all over the news on my TV. Yuck. My fiance and I stayed here over the weekend and it was just a great experience. The room was very clean, smelled fresh and the decor was cozy, but romantic. We were lucky to have a fireplace in our room which we used for a couple hours before dinner. I also found it nice that the room had wine glasses and a wine opener which helped before dinner :). The Inn was very clean and everything you needed was right there (Breakfast, lunch and dinner). The check-in and out was super easy since the process was key-less. Free wifi is a plus too! My daughters and I stayed at the Inn last summer for a girls' getaway. We were so pleased that we booked the Inn again this summer. What a big disappointment!!!! Our room was not nearly as nice, with only one chair by the fireplace. That made it difficult to sit and relax. We booked the room stating that there would be three of us and that we needed a rollaway bed. Of course, we paid the additional fee for a third person. There was no rollaway in the room. After calling the number provided and getting a call back we were told how to get the rollaway...go to the third floor closet and bring it down to our room. My pregnant daughter and I did just that. The bed had one pillow and a sheet but no blankets. Our bathroom had no mats or rugs. I almost slipped on the tile floor. We also had only two bath towels for three people. Clearly the room was not prepared for us. Again, a big disappointment, especially considering what we paid for our room. At those prices, I honestly expect more! read more

We recently stayed for two nights at the Inn on Main. There was an issue as soon as we arrived because the code on our door did not work. We called the number we were given and eventually received help after hanging out in the hallway for 20 minutes. The room was lovely and we were very pleased when we finally got inside. We got 304 with two queen beds, a balcony, large bathroom, and a fireplace. The wood floors were beautiful too. Everything seemed fine until the next day when we received the worst "maid service" I have ever seen. The only thing they did was empty the garbage and replace one coffee packet. The beds remained unmade and the towels were not replaced. They took the bath mat and did not supply a new one. And to top it off, they left an envelope for staff gratuity. For the rates they charge, I really feel like a little service should be included. I don't mind using a towel more than once, but we only had two in the first place and there were three of us. It's still much nicer than many places in the area, though. read more
