The Inn on Turner was homey and relaxing from the first step through the door, that perfect mix of higher class furnishings without making you afraid to sit on the furniture. The bedroom was comfortable and calming with breezy coastal decor. I did not mind the lack of television and actually enjoyed not hearing the news through the walls from other guests, as can easily happen in other BnBs. The in-room amenities were high quality (sound machine, ample outlets, hangers, etc) - and products all smelled great! The quality of sleep was extremely high. Kim was a fantastic host providing not only dinner recommendations but also providing reservations! Kim also supplied guests with the day's activity recommendations as breakfast was served. Complimentary happy hour and breakfast were quite a treat. Sitting at the outdoor firepit after dinner was the perfect way to end the day. Street parking in October was a breeze. Location of Inn was perfection - two blocks to main downtown drag but on a quiet street. I LOVE that the IOT is adult only. There's an extra feeling of calm for couples and singletons when they enter a kid free place. (Plenty of kid friendly options elsewhere.)

FULL COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW of the Inn on Turner. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Prior to arriving: Kim was very professional on the phone and took the time to answer any questions that I had. She sent a very informative email with suggestions on things to do in the area and places to dine. She offered to book any dining reservations prior to our stay, which is a nice touch if you are short on time. Upon arriving: Nicely restored historical home, similar to a lot of the inns in Beaufort, the third oldest city in the state. Tastefully decorated inside and thoughtfully set up for guests to lounge and relax. The house is a little further from the main attraction of Front Street than some of the other inns, but it is still only a short walk. THE ROOM: Also tastefully decorated. Fairly spacious for an older home, and a private bathroom, which is always a plus. Pretty color scheme throughout the house- a bit more modern than some of the older homes. THE FOOD: Kim and Jon go the extra mile to serve an evening appetizer with an alcoholic beverage for happy hour, in addition to the breakfast each morning. The dishes were simple yet elegant. During my two nights there, I was served the following appetizers: -chicken wings, olive salad, pistachios, and rose wine -peel and eat jumbo shrimp, pimento cheese spread with crackers, peanuts, and choice of beer or wine I was served the following breakfasts: -oatmeal with apples, raisins, and nuts, local sausage, fresh juice, and coffee -huevos rancheros, fresh fruit in a tequila finish, fresh juices, and coffee Dinner is available, as well as small parties, although we didn't take advantage of this. The portion sizes of all the meals were generous. Coffee service starts at 8:30, and breakfast is always served at 9 a.m. Happy Hour begins at 5 p.m. My only complaint is that we wished the coffee and juice were available earlier. We generally get up pretty early and had to walk down to the coffee shop for a drink. It is pretty close though, so it isn't too inconvenient. There was also no fridge to keep things cold. My wife and I wanted to relax with some drinks, so we ended up keeping a cooler in our room. Not ideal, but it worked. Kim did offer to keep our drinks in the fridge, but the kitchen is off-limits, so we decided against it for convenience sake. ALLERGY RECOMMENDATIONS: Kim was very accommodating to my wife's food allergies, which was kind of her. We did let her know ahead of time so that she could be informed before grocery shopping, which I would recommend. THE PEOPLE: Kim and Jon make an effort to get to know their guests and to make sure you are comfortable. The are both friendly and want to ensure you are taken care of. They keep a nice balance between being accessible and providing you with privacy. Kim is easily reached via phone or email if you should need anything during the stay. THE STAY: My wife and I enjoyed our stay here and were much more comfortable than in a standard hotel room. We liked the character of the house and having a common area to relax in. We also enjoyed having the option to sit on the porch or by the fire pit. OVERALL: It may be a little more than the other B&Bs in town, but the extra touches and hospitality of Kim and Jon are by far worth every penny. Would highly recommend for a nice, quiet getaway.

They may not have the typical amenities of a 5 star hotel, but they do check all of the necessary boxes. This hotel is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained and It offers exceptional customer service. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, and provide a range of thoughtful amenities like quality bedding, pillows, and towels, and a coffee maker. Although oriental NC is small and a town that is all about the water, it is not the most walkable town in NC, which is why location is key. Not only is this hotel closer to everything that matters, they have the best view right off the water than any other hotel in town. This is the most comfortable stay in town. Cheers!

This will be the only place we stay from here out. We got the King Jacuzzi room, the room has a king size bed and a very, very large jacuzzi in the room. We were able to enjoy a beer, in the jacuzzi and watch the Final Four games. All the rooms are ocean view and beach access is just a walk across the boardwalk. The other kicker is the showers in the room. I was told that some rooms had tubs for families with small children but our room had a huge shower with multiple shower heads that were all adjustable. I've stayed in a lot of hotels around the world that were supposedly a lot nicer than this one, but in the end it was one of my favorite stays ever. We highly recommend the Windjammer.

Could not enjoy deck or pool because of smokers. Also hotel has no pets policy except for service dogs. Clearly the dogs last week were not service dogs A little weiner dog would run free around picnic tables peeing on everything, while their owners sat at table and chained smoked. we were told "service" dogs were booked on bottom floor. there was one on 3rd floor we could hear barking. There should be designated no pet floors for asthma and allergic people.

Well, nothing has changed, except maybe it is better, although I am unsure how that is possible. Becky is truly one of the most gracious hostesses ever! Each room is just as welcoming and warm for your arrival. Your name awaits you on the door, and a piece of chocolate is calling your name from the nightstand beside the bed. Water, and other beverages are in the fridge in the foyer/hallway upstairs outside of the rooms, with any extra amenities you may want to use, such as when you forget your toothpaste, or if you want to use the iron, etc. We went in December so the house was so eloquently decorated for Christmas. Becky always accommodates any special needs or requests for breakfast, such as nut allergies and hubs and I being vegetarian since the last time I frequented the Moss House. Becky is also always equipped with local restaurant recommendations, as well as fun things to do in the area. A little extra thing that I love, The Moss House has it's own little soap in the bathroom. They leave you a little bag to take the soap that remains home with you, so (1), you are not wasting soap by leaving it and it getting thrown away, and (2) You can enjoy the herbal soap at home, because it truly smells amazing! We've now stayed in all of the rooms available and I truly love each room. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in any of them as they are all wonderfully accommodating and cozy!

Washington is a sleepy town but very pretty and peaceful. The Moss House had pleasant large rooms with modern amenities and lots of old fashioned charm. The rooms were very comfortable and really inviting. But the reason I will be returning? The breakfast! Both mornings the breakfast was interesting and made wonderful use of the local produce. There was plenty of fruit and local vegetables and we both indulged our sweet tooths with the pastries and sweet rolls! A fabulous find in a sleepy little town!
