I can't even remember it all. Finally, I just wanted a practice that felt a little more personal. When I discovered this lovely place, I wasn't sure what to expect. A studio inside of a teacher's home? I've seen a few of those before, but this could not be more the opposite. It doesn't *feel* like it is in a house, and actually it looks more like a yoga studio than some of the storefront studios out there. The shala itself is gorgeous. It is well maintained and when you practice as the sun is rising, the whole room seems to glow. It smells nice and home-y. Even if I don't want to come to practice, I always feel better after having done it. The Mysore style seems to be about learning at your own pace, practicing at your own pace, and developing a practice that supports you. I would really recommend checking it out. If you feel you don't have enough experience, that is certainly untrue. The Mysore style is a great place to learn, learn, learn.

The instructors are friendly, extremely knowledgeable and diverse, which allows a full range of people to attend any class that is offered and feel as though they are successful upon leaving. It doesn't matter if you're a life long athlete or never been physically active, these classes offer many variations of the same movements to accommodate anyone. I've lost almost 17 pounds since beginning bar classes almost one year ago, and truly appreciate the value these classes have brought into my life. The owner, Jess, is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming, so even if you've never taken any sort of barre class, you won't feel out of place or uncomfortable, no matter what class you decide to take... Well, you may be uncomfortable, but that's just because the workout is so good! They even offer childcare for those who need it and options to stream classes from home, which I take advantage of most of the time. After a few sessions, I felt a world of improvement. No surgery or meds needed! My MD was impressed. Then when I was facing surgery for a different medical issue; I was recommended to get a massage pre-surgery. My surgeon stated that massage 'seems to help patients when preparing for surgeries." The office itself is small and intimate. I had written her prior to massage and we talked more in-depth about my migraines. I paired a full-body massage with cranio-sacral (which I had never had before). The massage room is very cozy: dimly lit with fabric hung from the ceiling (it reminded me of a cloud). Much to my surprise, despite her use of oils, I was not overpowered by smells. The massage was great - I loved the warmed socks she provides. The week after my massage I felt wonderful. I could definitely feel that the tension in my neck and shoulders had been significantly reduced, and my migraines were not quite as intense. I would highly recommend Lotus Tree if you're looking for someone who will take the time to listen to your ailments and work on them! I'm hoping to make visits here a regular occurrence.
