Scenario: It is the…read more26th of December, 2016. I've been moving furniture around since we were hosting a party for xmas. I woke up this morning with severe sharpness and tightness in my lower back. I called a few other doctors in the area and either no one picked up or were fully booked! Dr. Kohanoff picked up the phone and he could hear my pain through the phone. He tells me "come in right now, you might have to wait a few minutes if you don't mind." At this point I have no choice. I get to the office and notice it was closed but Dr Kohanoff was the only one in the office. This amazing man just opening his office for me. He spent over 30 minutes trying to help me out and let me tell you I left with no pain! I owe this man more than my insurance co-pay. He has saved me. I am now forever a loyal patient to him and his office. Dr. Kohanoff, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! If you're looking for a doctor that actually cares, and actually loves what they do, switch or don't hesitate to make an appointment.

I don't usually write reviews, but AAMP Sports Rehab is one of the few places that truly deserves…read moreone. I grew up with a mom who was a physical therapist and owned her own practice in Encino for over 30 years. I was very competitive and active growing up, playing many sports from soccer, to baseball, Olympic lifting, powerlifting--you name it. Inevitably, from time to time I would get hurt and my mom never focused only on where I was feeling pain or injured. She knew the body was all connected, so she would look at how everything was moving to figure out what was actually causing the problem or caused the injury. She was always able to fix any issue by treating the root cause versus the injury itself or symptoms. After she retired, I spent years trying different PTs around the Westside and the Valley. I felt like that kind of physical therapy didn't really exist anymore, because most places seemed to focus on the area in pain, give you a few exercises, and send you on your way. Then I was lucky enough to be introduced to Dr. Pourdehghan and Dr. Makaremi at AAMP Sports Rehab through a close friend. From my first visit, I could tell they approach physical therapy the same way my mom did. They take the time to understand what's really going on instead of chasing symptoms. They look at your movement as a whole, explain why you're having pain, and actually work to fix the root cause instead of just giving you temporary relief. As someone who's been around physical therapy my entire life, I don't say this lightly, they're incredibly knowledgeable. They're also honest, patient, and genuinely care about getting you better. It's refreshing to find doctors who still practice this way. If you've been bouncing from one PT to another without getting answers, or you're an athlete who wants someone who understands how the body really works, I can't recommend AAMP Sports Rehab enough. Dr. Pourdehghan and Dr. Makaremi have been the closest thing I've found to the care I grew up with, and that's about the highest compliment I can give.

I already have a chiropractor, I was there for physical therapy. I went home in as much pain as I arrived in. Would not recommend.

What a wonderful first experience! I met Robert and Sunny, checked in with them, completed an…read moreapplication and paid my session, which was to be a body scrub. By the way, I had made an appointment a day before and they use a nice texting system to remind you of the appointment. I like that. Emily was my "scrub therapist" and she was outstanding. I had an hour scrub, and it was a full hour. No shorting! Unlike some places, this was not performed in "wet room". This was on a massage table, which was cozy and warmed (perfect during these coldest days of winter). Everything was done properly and modestly, with proper coverage and draping. The salt scrub was at the PERFECT pressure. Very thorough. She covered every bit of my exposed area and stayed away from a couple of sensitive areas (between toes--I have a issue there) I had marked on my application. She definitely knew what she was doing, and checked with me periodically to make sure the pressure was right. At the end, she gave me a cup of water. While I love Korean body scrubs, a salt scrub is certainly nice as an alternative, and provides extra minerals to your body. My skin was wonderfully smooth after the treatment. Probably if you follow up with a moisturizing session at home or a massage at Bangkok. They have a dual scrub/massage that's a nice deal. I just didn't have the time for that that day. But this was a NICE introduction. Free parking in a lot right behind and professionalism throughout. And this was nearby, who wants to deal with traffic over to Koreatown?!? I'll be back! Thank you, Emily, Sunny and Robert!
