I went to Inner Light Wellness for shoulder and arm issues. After 12 weeks of PT and 4 rounds of cortisone shots, I still only had about 20% use of my arms. I was never a big believer in Eastern medicine but after years of being active and having multiple surgeries on my ankles and feet, my feelings began to change. After my second ankle reconstruction, I was told that there is nothing more they can do for me and that I would have to live with the pain. I did not want to accept that. I began researching alternative therapies such as chiropractic care and acupuncture and ultimately my chiropractor recommended Inner Light and Wellness to me as an additional therapy. I came to Inner Light Wellness over 6 months ago with serious PMS symptoms including cramps, anxiety, depression, irritability and low back pain. I got relief within one treatment, my entire day and several afterward were wonderful! Through regular treatments, I have greatly diminished my PMS symptoms and some are completely gone altogether! Following a sports injury, our young son was diagnosed with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD). Our son's entire left leg was effected. Borrowing from Wikipedia, "RSD is an older term used to describe one form of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Both RSD and CRPS are nerve disorders characterized by chronic severe burning pain, pathological changes in bone and skin, excessive sweating, tissue swelling and extreme sensitivity to touch". It's a world of pain After Months of consulting with many, many doctors and Physical therapists, we had not improved our son's life or were able to lessen his pain. We understood that our son had to battle throughout and maybe the nerves triggering the constant pain will "reset" back to neutral. MAYBE!!! In the meantime our son's leg was atrophying. Throughout the ordeal, one belief kept us going: We will never give up and we will overcome. Other parents can understand what it may feel like to see a child's suffering and see his future jeopardized. Your instinct is to hold your child and ease his pain, but your duty is to push him beyond the threshold of pain. When you see the fear in your child's eye when it's time to exercise or walk or drive anywhere and you fear yourself that his fear will one day turn to hate. And that hate will be directed towards the parent who constantly pushes on. We decided to try acupuncture as yet another venue and saw a Chinese Doctor. But the Doctor's approach was "Doctor knows best". While she was very competent, she was not approachable and we had a strong communication barrier. After a few visits, we knew it would not work. But we were not abandoning Acupuncture. It still held a glimmer of hope. And then a friend recommended Margaret Celli who was treating our friend's allergies. By the time we met Margaret, our son had lost all trust. Margaret had a mountain to climb before she can reach our son and give him a helping hand. But Margaret was empathy and gentleness and compassion. A healer. Within a few sessions, our son gradually let go of his fears and accepted Margaret's help. And one glorious Sunday evening, he announced that he felt tingling in his leg and the pain is receding. He performed jumping jacks for two hours without a single break let the tingling stops and the pain comes back. We held our breath and hoped. But the pain was gone. We dodged the bullet. Or more aptly, Margaret deflected it. We are forever grateful. And we continue to see Margaret on a regular basis. Margaret is a great acupuncture practitioner. She zeroes in on the problem in a lot fewer sessions than other traditional practitioners. I saw her for stress-related symptoms and felt back to my old self (i.e., the way I felt four years ago) after a few treatments. She's very patient and knowledgeable. Allergy relief! I have suffered Seasonal Allergies (indoor and outdoor) my entire life. My life was one constant sneeze. My eyes were itching and burning, always blowing my nose, sinus headaches that would end up in sinus infections, etc. I had to keep tissue boxes in every room and used them all the time.
