What attracted me first to the salon was the fact they have a little resident dog (a king edward spaniel I think) always either sitting at the window, or in summer, just outside. The salon itself has a vintage boudoir feel and is not that huge. It's always pretty busy so make sure you book in advance. I've been there two or three times now but have never left fully satisfied. Although the staff are efficient, helpful and friendly and the salon is really beautifully designed, the actual hair styles I have received have fallen below my personal standards. I always feel there is a danger with these places that they may give you the hair style that's most "in vogue" for them / around that area and, sadly, here that is true. I've had a Rod Stewart mullet a few times and I've left a little dissatisfied. For the price, this place is probably not worth it. Unfortunately, here, it's a case of style of substance.

A £10 bottle of bleach would do a better job.

I was impressed by his personality, the airiness of the salon, the covid safe separation between the shampoo sinks, and their willingness to wear a mask around me (my husband is vulnerable). My previous colourist had not taken my instructions and as a consequence I had very dark, very obviously "dyed" roots on otherwise very natural light brown (with highlights) colour. Julien told me what would be involved to fix this... it was expensive, it took four hours but MIRACLE it fixed the problem perfectly. I will be returning to Julien without a doubt for colour. Highly recommended.

Without my agreement, he cut my long hair to half of the length--with really messy 'layers'--which looks like being cut by someone with closed/sleepy eyes. He also pushes me to buy extra products all the time. When I raised the concern of he cutting it too short, he answered with a manner that he never cares, 'So what? I already cut it. Let's just finish this'. Later I asked, 'is it ok if I take a look at the back and see how it is', he was very reluctant and rushed me to be quick. After seeing the cut, I said 'this is not we agreed on, could you help adjust it'? He refused. Then in five minutes, he left with his bag. His colleague, a lady called Emma, came to me and offered help--she literally spent the next 2 hours fixing the messy 'layers' that Fabio did to me, and tried her best to make it look neat and back to normal. I am grateful for her effort, but Fabio did such an awful job in the haircut making it impossible to recover. I have been to countless haircut and style in my life. Met various stylists. Anywhere which is a vintage shop with a hidden barber shop in the back is going to get my attention, and after reading magazines where Agnes Deyne and other celebs talking about it, I knew it was going to be an interesting experience. Normally when I get a haircut, it is a £5 job in Scarborough. Short back and sides with a trimmer and a cut on top. When I entered, I was offered a cup of tea and a mince pie(YES!) Then I was taken for a consultation and Sarah told me what would suit me. I was then treated to a shampoo and head massage and another mince pie! Sarah then cut and styled my hair She was very chatty, very nice and wasn't the standard barber shop chatter which was a nice change to have in London. You definitely notice the difference with the type of haircuts, the look is so much better then what it was. I have read some of the reviews below and can't believe what has been said. This is why QYPE is so good, everyone gets to share their opinions, however it has to be fair. Paul and the crew are great, the shop and layout is so cool and the overall experience is 5 stars. Finding a good hairdressers. What a nightmare, right?…read more Having been in London for a while, I always left the salon wanting to cry: I had just paid £100 for a pretty average cut. I wanted to treat myself during the holidays, and somehow came across about a new salon opening in Liberty. Oh well, if I am going to indulge, at least do it at an iconic location, right? So here I am, 3rd floor of Liberty's with a view over Carnaby Street with a cup of Earl Grey in the cutest cup ever seen in history. I could have gone for a Bellini, but for some reason I decided to be good. And there I met Natalia. You can see Natalia knows what she is doing, so I instantly decided to trust her. Yes, even when she took some scissors to cut 5cm off the bottom of ALL MY HAIR! Although I didn't end up with something exceedingly complicated, she made a few choices that were adapted both to my hair type and face shape. It seems silly, but it made an incredible overall difference, and not enough hairdressers do it. She also took the time to show me how to get the best out of my hair and took the time to give me 101 blow-dry and a "fun-with-straighteners" class (although I haven't been really good at reproducing the sexy beach waves myself yet. But I'm the one to blame here). And that people, is good service. Cherry on top? They use a range of products from Davines. Don't know them? Try them. Especially if you have coloured hair. Overall, and despite the location, I did not have to break the bank to get a good haircut. Only downside? I'm now only going to be going to Liberty's to get my hair done.
