Ugh how much I love this shop. My family visited Galesburg from the SF Bay Area and I came here twice a day. Specialty coffee shop that knows their beans, offering hot and iced espresso and drip drinks alike (including a Red Eye that mixes both!). I always enjoyed my coffee, but the matcha latte was just ok. Still super cool vibe to sit and relax, and I brought home a souvenir shirt and chocolate espresso beans. Review Visit: August 8th, 2016 A coffeehouse in Illinois. You know I had to go there and you know I would have to blog about it! What to say about Innkeeper's. Mostly positive things! My friend Tim and I popped in here to grab a drink and explore some more of Galesburg, IL. The outside of the building is quaint, but once you step inside, it's cozy and bright. I offered to buy the drinks for us and we ordered the same thing. I have ordered the same thing many times at other places (Iced Caramel Latte) and am used to what the average price is. Come to my surprise when my total for two drinks was about $12-$14. Usually I get a small or a medium, but they must've rang me up for the largest size they had, hint the crazy high price. But man, was it delicious and made me want more. Overall, I would come back again. They have a nice staff, it's bright and happy on the inside, they have a cool mural in the middle of the store and the coffee is delicious. read more

Well it's been 4 years since I came back. Thought I would give them another try. Newer owners? I doubt I will be back again for baked goods, which is my main interest. Just seems like theirs are below average, nothing really stands out and a stale taste in general. They seem to always have a full case and I suspect items are baked in advance, by more than a day, which is never a good idea if you are looking for "fresh" baked goods. Everything is wrapped in cellophane, which is a clue IMO. And at least 1 cookie where I wanted a few of, had to be found out of the case in another storage area. The inside of the place is very nice and cozy. Pictures of lunch sandwiches, etc., look enticing, but I really have to wonder based on my poor experience on their baked goods. read more

Legit coffee options here. I had an iced coffee that was nice and smooth and not too sickly sweet. Quite a few people hanging out in the morning chatting each other up. We only had a few minutes before heading to Knox but if I could have I would have sat outside and had coffee and enjoyed the fresh air. Very nice ambience too! read more

We don't get down to Galesburg often, but we have a monthly subscription for coffee, 5 lbs of their Innkeepers blend. Excellent coffee, excellent service, decent price (coffee isn't ever cheap lol). While there is variability from batch to batch, they have been consistent over a number of years and have maintained their quality, which in my experience has been hard to find long term in an independent roaster. A great coffee spot to grab a beverage and connect with others in a very gorgeous, comfortable space. This is a gem of a coffee house that serves great coffee - the nitro was smooth and balanced, the iced macchiato was better than the big national chains. The pastry selection was broad, looked appealing and delivers solid taste that is above average. We enjoyed 4 different blueberry varieties - a bb lemon scone, bb cream cheese croissant, a bb hand pie and a bb muffin. All of them were solid. I absolutely recommend making this the coffee stop when in Galesburg and wish i had one within walking distance. This place is solid. read more

This place has definitely gone downhill since I've been here, which was three years ago. The first thing I was disappointed with was the change in the entrance. No more beautiful cups and Tea pots. Then because I was ordering a few items they let someone else go ahead of me and they were charging her items on my bill!!! What the? Glad I saw that. The last, but not least, gave me something completely different than what I ordered, I didn't notice that until the day after and I live 2 hours away. What a complete disappointment this place is and how sad. I've been going there since the 90's. Won't ever recommend and won't go back. read more

Had no idea this was around for so long. They are almost hitting their 20 year mark, starting off at the back of the antique store. The new spot they have is huge with high ceiling and nice furnishings. I had "3 small things" which was a croissant sandwich, huge cup of soup and salad. It was quite filling. The pig and pepper sandwich was delicious with pulled pork. The Caribbean cooler was tasty. The coffee was strong. Definitely get a slice of the carrot cake for dessert. It was delicious. This is one of those local coffee spots that checks pretty much all the boxes you'd want from it. Incredibly friendly staff always. Every visit. Over the past 3 years, I've had a great experience every time. The "straight-up" coffee I can't speak for, but their specialty coffee drinks I almost always get and they have been phenomenal every time. I love that they always add something to it to make it stand out. For example, their shamrock-shake coffee drink (the March iced specialty drink) has a ton of mint to it that balances really well with the sweet of the drink. McDonald's shamrock shake can't match that quality. Ambience is really nice, bathrooms clean, and their snack and small-treat selection is top notch too. If you are in Galesburg enjoying downtown, this spot is within walking distance and well worth visiting. read more

Cute little coffee shop that serves lunch and sweets. The coffee is exceptional. Cookie is just good. But certainly big enough to share. We ordered a chicken panini sandwich. Very tasty and sized big enough to share as long as you aren't super hungry. All in all a pleasant experience. Also picked up a bag of their in store roasted coffee Panama boquete. Smells lovely. They also provided coffee info and how I can get more after I leave. (Seattle is a long way to drive for a bag of beans.). Yeah, I really enjoy this place. Very clean, bright, friendly coffeehouse/cafe. Good coffee, pasteries, and lunch specials including quiche, salads, and sandwiches. Loved their flourless chocolate cake and banana cheesecake. Also really enjoyed the chicken thyme salad sandwich, served on a croissant. I would enjoy it more if they had wifi, but it's really a nice little place to grab a latte, snack or light meal. read more

I had a really great experience at Inkeepers recently. Went through the drive thru and ordered a large soy Tuxedo mocha with whipped cream. It's my favorite thing to get there and I almost always get one. It was perfect! Not so hot that I couldn't drink it and so, so decadent. Writing this review is making me want another one. This place is extremely well done as a lunch cafè. I say that because I was really looking for a place to sit with a laptop, but there's no wifi here. It seems more like a deli that also serves lattès and other coffee drinks rather than a straight up coffee shop. There is also no music playing. Wait, there it is...but it's so faint that it might as well be shut off. That said, this place has good coffee, great seating, and a very clean environment. The design is just too fancy/dainty for my taste, but good enough for a dude just passing through town. read more

It might be a bit weird for me to give a 5-star review to a place like Innkeeper's when I don't even drink coffee. So I have no idea how good Innkeepers' coffee is, because I don't drink coffee at all. But I've had tea and it's been good. I've had the food and it's been great. I LOVE their French onion soup, and my only complaint is that they don't make it available to go (maybe in the age of Covid this is no longer true? I'm not sure). I also love that they partner with the public library to sponsor summer reading. They give out a bunch of gift cards to help encourage adults to participate and read, and I think that shows how much Innkeepers cares about the community. I definitely recommend them highly, even if like me you aren't a coffee person. read more

This place is a hidden gem and a great place for the town of Galesburg. Every time I'm in town I make a stop. FOOD: I've never had anything bad here--from coffee to pastries to entrees, there's something for everyone. If you get anything, I would try their pastries! They're fresh, have a great flavor, and always are of a different variety. I also really like the truffles; you can get regular truffles for $1.00, or artisanal truffles for $1.75. If choosing between the two, Is recommend the artisanal. SERVICE: Everyone here has always been extremely friendly and helpful! Drinks and food never take too long, even if it's crowded. ATMOSPHERE: This coffee shop is the cutest in the area! It's brightly covered, modern, and cozy. PRICE: For two of us today, we spent around $40 plus a tip. We both quiche, soup, and large coffees; we also had 4 regular truffles and 4 artisanal truffles to go. This restaurant is fairy priced compared to others in the area; if you're just getting food, you could eat for about $20 for two people. read more

A big brown house with a breezeway on the side on the corner of a red brick street one block away. A sleek, modern, big city evoking coffee house plopped down anachronistically in a still nostalgically charming small city. And the angels...peacefully smiling down on it all. _______________ "Christina has to have her Innkeeper's." That was good enough for me. And that's what gave me the idea to fuel up for the road. If I lived in Galesburg, I'd go for Innkeepers all the time. I don't know if I'd hang or not, as I don't hang in coffee shops as a rule, but their food is apparently very good so I'll try it next time. This time, I got a gargantuan coffee for two dollars and thirty cents. And it got me through three-and-a-half hours of driving after a very long day on three hours of sleep. Inkeeper's. I love the atmosphere here! I ordered an Innkeepers iced coffee which has vanilla syrup in it and I requested soy milk. It was very tasty---but a tad too sweet. I would go without the vanilla syrup next time. Hubby had the unsweetened strawberry iced tea (awesome) and a giant iced sugar coffee (a once in every 6 months treat..). Both very tasty! Very cute place, very classy, lots of little gifts, homemade chocolates, and other treats to enjoy with your coffee. I approve!! read more

I had a job interview in Galesburg. After spending the night, I met my "liaison" for lack of a better word and he took me out to breakfast. He bragged about this place, so I was eager to try it. Plus, I always like going to new places when I can. Innkeepers is basically a local coffee shop. I don't drink coffee, so I instead went with a bottle of water. They did have "breakfast" available, but there really wasn't much to choose from. I went with the three cheese quiche. It was way too hot to dig into, which the server should have mentioned but never did. I burned my mouth with the first bite, and when you're about to spend the next several hours talking to strangers and trying to convince them why you're the man for the job, a burnt mouth can be somewhat of a hindrance. As for flavor, it was okay. Nothing too spectacular to be honest. Just this side of bland. The service was passable, although the staff seemed a little more wrapped up in themselves than their customers. Place looked nice enough, which is always appreciated as a customer. I didn't end up getting the job and as I don't live in Galesburg, I won't be seeing Innkeepers again. Just as well. Even had I gotten the job, it's doubtful I would have been seeing Innkeepers again. Its pretty. It looks like it belongs on the North Shore. But the coffee quality is inconsistent at best--I've been there multiple times and have had good coffee and coffee so strong it stayed black after adding mucho half and half, and I've had coffee that was scorched. Yuck. Its just a lot of money for what you get product wise. I like Kaldi better. read more
