We would like to share our personal review of a local auto repair shop located in Hockley. Please consider avoiding INNOVATIVE CAR CARE located on 2920 in Hockley. This will be a long post, but I'll try to sum it up. Long story short they dont honor warranties on their work and lie about things needing be replaced. We initially brought my daughter's truck in for a new transmission. Shortly after the transmission was replaced, it began to leak fluid extensively. It appeared to require another rebuild. Not long after that, the transmission failed again and needed to be replaced once more. We then took it to a different shop because Innovative declined to honor the warranty. When we retrieved the truck after after one of the stays at Innovative, we observed that all the fuel was gone, despite the tank being full when we dropped it off. We initially wondered if we were mistaken and simply made a mental note. During the period of the transmission issues, we also experienced problems with the air conditioning and requested that they examine it. We invested several thousand dollars to have virtually the entire system replaced. Upon picking up the truck this time, for some reason, the engine brake had ceased functioning after the work they performed. Two years later, the air conditioning failed again. We returned it, assuming the parts would still be under warranty. However, they informed us there was no warranty and that the condenser and Schrader valve needed replacement. We paid nearly a thousand dollars for this service, and they declared it ready. We collected the truck, and the air conditioning worked for two days before failing again. We brought it back, and they promised to provide an update the same day. Two days passed without any communication. Finally, we received a call stating that the compressor and evaporator core needed to be replaced, and these parts were also not under warranty, with an additional cost of $1200. Naturally, I questioned these claims. We contacted three other shops for a second opinion, and they all advised us to return to the original shop, as all those parts should have a lifetime warranty. We then called O'Reilly, as the representative at Innovative stated they had an account there and did not receive a lifetime warranty on parts. When O'Reilly was contacted, they confirmed that their parts do indeed carry a lifetime warranty. When they were confronted with this and point blank asked where they were buying their parts they stated "several places, which ever place is the cheapest". Furthermore, on each occasion my daughter needed to retrieve something from the truck at the shop, it was found unlocked and parked near the road (2920). When we brought this to their attention, their response was that "no one ever comes up here." During this period, we had them replace the water pump, which unfortunately failed again shortly after its replacement. We returned it for another replacement, only to experience a similar issue. The third time, my husband replaced the pump himself, and we have not encountered any problems since then. I have reviewed their reviews, and it appears this may be a recurring concern. It seems improbable that every single component replaced two years ago would require replacement again. This establishment appears to be engaging in deceptive practices. read more

Called several times before going to get no answer. Arrived and was told mechanic was late and waited over 30 minutes. And then when the machinist finally arrived he had the stankest attitude and rushed me out and said to come back later cause their machine was broken. So I waited for nothing. Do not go here. Inside is chaotic and messy. Not really a comfortable seating area. 10 out of 10 do NOT recommend. Walked in hopeful, polite and gave grace, to leave not helped and unserved. Took me the remainder of the day to get serviced elsewhere. What started at 830AM, wasn't done until 5PM. So much for timeliness & being smart about getting things done. read more

I realized that I needed to get state inspection done before the end of the month, and Tuesday May 26 was the only day that I could do it due to my work schedule. As Innovative Car Care Center is the closest garage from my work, I contacted via email, explaining the exact time I could come to their place and asked if they can do the state inspection. Jeanet Roman got back to me on Monday night, confirming that they could "definitely take care of it," and I confirmed back seeing them after 5:30 pm on Tuesday evening. Exchanging friendly emails like this made me feel confident about this business, and I had high expectations that they could become my go-to garage. However, when I got their place before 5:40pm on Tuesday evening, they were closed. It looked like they even didn't open the door on Tuesday at all. I walked around, called the number listed there, and left a message. No response. I was so disappointed, upset, and felt they let me down. Luckily, I could find a garage still open after 6pm within 30 mins driving distance using Yelp, so that I could get the inspection done. I would never go back to Innovative Car Care Center, and I would never recommend this business to my friends and co-workers. read more

There should be a negative score. When I took my car in, I only wanted the valve cover gasket replaced & I asked that the mechanic check that I had installed the Cabin Air Filter Replacement correctly. i guess they were given different info from the front desk. For some reason they did something to my car & I was told the fan motor wasn't coming on. I don't understand why they did anything to my air conditioner. I was charged for what they did, but I didn't ask for that to be done. I just wanted them to check that the part I had put in was put in correctly, not the air conditioning system.i guess I should have asked for a written quote, but I have used them before, with no problems. They owe me a refund. Plus they told me my blower motor wasn't working, but I had another mechanic check it & surprise, it worked just fine. Now, I need Freon. Also there was NO BRAKE FLUID AT ALL. I just went to Jiffy Lube before I went to Innovative & they always fill everything. innovative let me leave the shop with no brake fluid. I could have been killed. Plus, they broke the wire to the hood latch, so the hood wouldn't open! I will never be using Innovative again. read more

I have been looking for a place near where I store my travel trailer to get a state inspection and came across Innovative car care. The yelp map location is off a little bit. It you exit 290 you will want to head north on Roberts Rd then make a right on 2920. It will be a block down on the right hand side. If you have a large RV or long travel trailer park you can park on the side street and they will come out and do the inspection. The employees and friendly and efficient, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Great place to get your state inspection. read more

I just started going to Innovative Car Care Center. I got my alignment completed on my first visit. This may sound crazy....but I never had an alignment completed and then drove away feeling like my car has been tightened. As if the car is in full control. Most of the time when driving after an alignment it feels like the steering wheel is loose. After getting it aligned with Innovative, it felt like my car was aligned and tuned up. I was very impressed on the alignment job. I came back in to get the front rotors replaced. Which by the way...I should have listened to Jeanet when she was kindly and professionally explaining to me why my car was shaking as I braked. They haven't even checked my car yet and already knew what the problem most likely could be which were the rotors. This was all before I got the alignment done. Both Jeanet and Emmanuel were very helpful, extremely knowledgeable and very informative when explaining about the rotors. I got the front rotors completed today and my car is running like new. No more shaking as I brake. I am very grateful my husband recommended these guys to me. They do phenomenal honest work. The staff is always smiling and really down to earth. Very very knowledgeable. When i called i was able to get in the same day for my oil change. When i needed something extra the manager made sure i was ok with the price and the wait time before they proceeded. They were very professional and didnt try to break my bank with trying to upsale me on un-needed repairs. They are goning to be my go to car care center! read more

I went in to Innovative on 2920 to get my brakes checked. The lady that is running the place told me that I needed a complete brake job, rotors and all even the sensor. I was given a quote of almost 1,000 dollars. I took the car elsewhere and had them checked and they actually showed me the car brakes and my brakes were practically still new. All I needed was rotors-that was all. For two rotors it was under 300 dollars to repair them. Question yourself when you take your car there. Does she really know what she is telling you and did she actually prove it to you? She did not me. Im glad i did not learn the hard way and spend 1,000 dollars that I did not need to spend. I give this place two stars due to a nice location. Good luck! read more

Had my car here for six days the first two was for a diagnostic somehow that took two days until the second day when im told they need another part to run the diagnostic. 85 dollar part comes out to about 300 dollars for about ten minutes of work ridiculous and then the next day they get to the diagnostic tell me nothing else was wrong except a tooth on the timing chain was off okay fix that 500 more bucks part included TOOK FOUR DAYS idk who your dealer is but you need to switch them i could have gotten the part thirty minutes tops had i a car to drive and get it for them. Then apparently they were betting on me having the right gasket for another part up top decide not to check till after ive spent three hours waiting there when im told my car will be ready friday so i wasted a ride money and my time because the mechanic cant take time to do something the right way and be prepared ive done a few mechanic things myself ive worked in shops. This isnt the way a mechanic gets the job done im sure theyre nice people but the work-output is atrocious the front desk woman who i believe is the owner was more then Fantastic and wonderful but you guys gotta do something about your mechanics. Im not coming back here ever again because of the terrible amount of time wasted. Lets not also mention that i was picked up in my car that had no air in the tires at least 5 miles down the road in flooded roads that im fairly certain were not driven through slowly at all due to the fact i now have a misfire when i didnt have it prior to taking the vehicle to this establishment but ill fix that god knows how many more days id have to wait to get that done. All in all. Unless you like speaking to a really nice person who owns the business but has terrible employees i wouldnt exactly make this my first stop. read more
