I love supporting small business. The person who took over this location worked for the same oil change company for several years. They now do oil changes, state inspections and even car repairs. The service is quick, professional and the prices very reasonable. I had the oil change and state inspection done on my truck. I was in and out within 30 minutes. Great job! read more

if i could leave zero fucking stars i would never go here what so ever ! they rushed my oil change , my oil leaked all over the road / street and now my truck is making a weird noise ! screw this place and the people who own it and work for the location! oh and to top it off the dumb employees had the audacity to ask to change my brakes. boy please i probably would have died. i repeat never in your life go here!!!!!!!! read more

I have came to this same building for my oil changes and even state inspections for 5 years, since 2015. The company at the time who did business in the building was named Texas Oil Express. For years I have always had been happy doing business with Texas Oil Express. Usually whenever I would go to any shop involving auto repairs and oil changes, every employee always looked annoyed and were always being rude just because you didn't know something about your car. The employees and even the manager were never like that with me whenever they gave me an oil change or when they had found something faulty going on within my vehicle. They had been the nicest and coolest people I ever met, and always looked forward to arriving when I needed an oil change. I remember coming after Christmas Day and was saddened that Texas Oil Express was gone. But was happy to hear that most of the employees transferred to Take 5 Oil Change which was only minutes away from the original building. From what I have been told months later, most of the employees and manager had been dropped or fired from Take 5. I was upset to hear the news this. Not to mention just right around March I had to get my oil change, I was not satisfied at all with how much the price was for my oil change was from Take 5. It was much more expansive than what I usually paid for in Texas Oil Express. When July had came around so I could change it again, I was planning to head to Take 5 but remembering not being happy about the price and service. I checked on Google and saw that Discount Oil Change Express had just opened, and even saw that they were doing business the same building I was familiar with. Franklin, the person owns Discount Oil, from what he told me was once an employee of Texas Oil Express and even knew the employees of it before it shut down. Around my stop I was planning to take the conventional oil change which was their cheapest. But I decided to take the high mileage one which is $29.99, which to me was a great deal. Franklin was very cool with me and him and his employee changing my oil was straightforward and quick to get my oil change. And what's even great as that most of my information from coming to the place was already under their records. Franklin was really nice as well as his employee working with him, and the service was excellent. They did everything that I enjoyed Texas Oil Express was doing before they closed shop, and I am happy that Franklin and rest of the staff have taken the building to do business. I highly recommend this place and wish to do business whenever I need an oil change or a state inspection. read more

But be careful here. I asked about having just the brake pads changed on my vehicle instead of both pads and rotors. This should be a customer decision even though I knew at the time that an Ari could be made to do pads and rotors during the same visit. Reason? I intend to sell my vehicle over the next few months and to change rotors where is is no current rotor damage or heavy wear and deep scaring would therefore be a waste of customer money. Those decisions aside, staff and services here were excellent and I would repeat business on routine maintenance items.

However, today's experience was so over the top, unprofessional, and insulting as we've ever had with any business. Ever. My husband and I took our daughter's car in for inspection. An older man that we've seen prior was there along with a young kid that looked like he was in training. A few minutes into the inspection, they waved my husband out to the garage. The young kid had unplugged the theft tracking device AND our OBD2 port, without asking us about it, then threatened to fail the car as the plug in device they use was reading an error as it was not getting any information from the car. By the way, the car is a 2023 Nissan Sentra with about 20k mi on it and it spotless condition. When my husband asked him to in the future please ask prior to doing any of this, the kid replied that he didnt need to ask us about anything. Um, yes you do, it's not your car. He then told us he was failing us and then told my husband he needed to stop drinking and driving because he could smell it on him. Wow. My husband rarely drinks and hasn't even had a beer in over a month. I'm sure what he supposedly 'smelled' was hard work and an intolerance for a boy-child's bull****. We left and went to a different place and oh yeah, it passed with no problem. Zero stars if possible.

I didn't realize this until the second visit. Then they made me pay for thier equipment not working. Basically, blaming me for thier inability to do the work.

DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM…read more He initially told me that one bottle of coolant and the part we supplied were all he needed. Once the process started, he called me down from my house and told me I would need to pay for another bottle of coolant just to test whether his work was complete. That was odd because we had already supplied him with a full bottle. We refused, but he still went to the store. While he was at the register, he called us and told us the total, as if we hadn't already declined to send him to the store. After he claimed he was finished, he knocked on my door and told me he had locked his keys in his car and had left his equipment in MY CAR. He then asked if he could wait inside my house while his wife drove 30 minutes to bring him another set of keys. At that point, my house was not in the right condition for someone to be waiting inside, so this was extremely uncomfortable and honestly a huge inconvenience. Once his wife finally arrived, he came back and said that he felt he wasn't paid enough for the job he had done. At that point, I was already extremely uncomfortable and frustrated with the entire situation. Then, to make matters worse, I started finding loose bolts in the corner of my car that were supposed to be on the water pump. When I asked him about the bolts, he said he had purchased new ones because he didn't have enough of the correct bolts to finish the job. However, after he went to the store--which we never agreed to send him to--he came back claiming that he had the correct amount of bolts all along. What really pissed me off was that he left my car jacked up IN HOUSTON, OF ALL PLACES, with the engine exposed. AND NOW, LESS THAN TWO MONTHS LATER, THE WATER PUMP IS STILL LEAKING COOLANT. The exact issue we paid to have repaired has not been resolved. With all the confusion throughout this entire process, I honestly don't understand how we could be accused of shorting him when the original agreement was completely different. It's WAY too hot in Texas for people to be spending their hard-earned money and still not have the problem resolved. I paid for a service, and I expect the work to be completed correctly and my vehicle to be left in the condition it was supposed to be in. It hasn't even been a full two months since he last worked on my car, and we are STILL dealing with a leaking water pump.
