This is a little late, but still relevant. We had a king pin installed on our class A coach. After…read morethey inspected it and said it needed a king pin, I submited it to out warranty company who authorized the repair. A few days later RDI said the threads at the top of the knuckle, where the grease cap goes was damaged and needed a new knuckle. After getting the estimate RDI was told to stop work in case it needed to be inspected. I told them to order the knuckle but not complete the work. After not hearing back from our warranty company I called them and long story, they wanted to inspect. Called RDI and the work was completed. Thanks RDI. After looking at the knuckle, it appeared as if a hammer was used at the top, as if driving in the king pin. It certainly could have been repaired with a thread file. Fast forward a couple months and the coach was taken to another shop that was local to me for an oil change and they pointed out the lower grease cap on the knuckle that RDI replaced was missing. There was a little dirt inside the area and little grease. I contacted RDI and their reponse was that there were no parts left over when the intial repair was completed and if it fell out it's on them. I asked for reimbursement for the cap and they stated "there's no way to verify when it fell out or if it was something we caused" I advised them if it wasn't installed it's on them, if it was installed and it fell out it's on them. They never responded back.

Unfortunately, I'm going to be about $28,000 to do the job for you. Just to be straight up and honest with you, from what I have found out you would be money ahead to have Ford replace your engine. From my blind calls to get rough estimates from Ford, your going to save 8-9 thousand using them. I have tried to give you all of the discounts I can to lower the price. I'm sorry , I can't get the job done for you in a reasonable cost. I'm just trying to be honest with you. Hope you can understand. I Took the Truck to another diesel mechanic and was told it had bad injectors which were causing the Issue from the Start ... I'm Expecting to get another 100K out of it Now,Run's Great , RDI are Professional Parts Changers;;; Not Mechanics. Also None of the parts replaced were Ford ... And had Multiple Injectors Leaking as seen below ...

I had the unfortunate task of trying to find someone to repair my rear end in my 2002 Chevy…read moreSilverado 4X4.. I took it to a mechanic in Spring Hill Where I live and who I thought I could trust. He, the mechanic in spring Hill , stated that my whole rear end was shot and needed to be replace with either a used rear end with limited warranty , or a new rear end with a 3 year warranty.. The used was priced at $1600.00 installed and the new was priced at $2,040.00 installed.. To make a long story short I decided to search around for a used rear end on my own I located one in Chicago ill . for $1,034.00.. After I notified the mechanic of this he stated that if I wasn't going to use the rear ends he supplied that it would be best that I Picked up my truck. Luck was on my side when I contacted 98 Salvage near I -75 off of 50 in Brooksville. A gentleman working there stated that he didn't have a rear end to fit my truck but he recommended Jr's 4x4 in Brooksville , Fl. He gave me their number and I called them right away. I spoke with the owner himself after two rings of the phone and immediately he answered all my questions and also stated that he thought he could repair the rear end of my truck without any issues ,.. I brought my truck to Jr. who stated that he had three vehicles in front of me and that he would get to it as soon as he could.. That evening I received a phone call from Jr. who stated that he had put my truck on the rack at that he had inspected my rear end in my truck and that he thought he could fix it for $ 500.00 Which is a far cry from the other estimates I received earlier. The next morning Jr. asked me if I would like to come over and inspect the rear end myself and to show me my options I had to properly repair the rear end.. He gave me several different options of repair one at $500.00 which would leave the rear end with a slight whine, and another at around $750.00 Which would fix the truck the correct way almost back to Factory.. I chose the Factory fix .. I gave him the red light and he went to work.. The next day he stated the my left rear axle needed another bearing to help save the existing drive axle to limit my expense. I also gave him the okay to take that method of repair.. I called him later that afternoon to see about when the truck might be ready and he stated that a part did not arrive at his shop and that he had called and assured me that the part would be in the following day.. The following day I called back to the garage a little after noon, he stated the part came in but he also advised me that my emergency brake pads were also shot, not surprising me because the truck did have 190,000 miles on it.. I gave him the go ahead to replace those shoes which added an additional $75.00 plus only $25.00 to put them on. He told me that they were finishing the job at that the truck would be ready to be picked up that afternoon. The total price $900.00 I had a friend drive me to the garage and while in route I received a phone call from Jr. to inform me that my truck was ready for pick up.. At all times from the moment I dropped my truck off to the moment I picked it up Jr. was very professional and personable which is rare to find in any business these days.. His Garage reminded me of how Garages were run back in the early 70's.. You didn't have to worry about getting ripped off nor given below par work.. I have to take my Hat off to both he and his employee who were a pleasure to get to know and to trust.. As long as Jr. is open and running I will never take any of my vehicles anywhere else for repair.. Thank you Jr. If you have any issues with your vehicle , I HIGHLY recommend JRs. 4x4 and Automotive repair.. They deserve more then 5 stars in my book..
