I booked my appointment two weeks in advance and kwpt getting reminder emails and text messages confirming my appointment at 7:00PM. The day of my appointment, I got an email stating my appointment was rescheduled to a time when I could not get to the office due to employment. I called the office and they rudely explained how it was my fault they double booked the appointment and was forced to cancel it. This is unacceptable as a medical office and unprofessional to blame the patient for the offices disorganization. I would not recommend this medical office to anyone who plans their life because this office blatantly disregards appointment scheduling for their own convenience. read more

I learned that I had Covid and had been sick for a full week and wasn't really getting any better. I knew I needed the monoclonal antibody treatment. The soonest I could get into a hospital was 3 days. So, I started searching online and found Innovative Express care. I was able to get a next day appointment and the service was amazing! The staff was super friendly and caring. About two hours after arriving, I received my treatment and I was on my way home. The process was super easy and they explained everything to me. Downers Grove location. Poorly managed by unskilled people not following protocol. Online registration did not save my info or ask for insurance card upload. Let me in office before receiving txt to come in. Several people clustered around check-in desk. No sanitizer anywhere. Staff in inadequate ppe. Check in person used their personal phone to upload my driver license and insurance card. That process is huge potential for fraud. The online my chart i got showed i had an appoinment with some Dr who was now where to be found and in spite of the fact i was going for covid test. Located in empty office space with curtained rooms with only a flat examination table/ bed. No sanitizer in 'room'. Asked for saliva test. First told only for children, then told very inaccurate, then told I didn't want, no good. I question their practices. Doubt any sanitizing ever goes on there. read more

Smells like insurance fraud. I had a COVID test done that cost $150 for "rapid results" within a couple of hours. Upon arriving for the test, I was told that in order to receive the Rapid Results test I was REQUIRED to also have the regular COVID-19 test that is covered by insurance and takes 5-7 days for results. This is NOT noted on their website and, suspiciously, the $150 payment does not appear under payments on the patient's portal. This means Innovative is charging patient's $150 AND billing insurance for the second test that it is not needed. Other providers are administering the rapid results billed 100% to insurance AND NOT requiring the regular test be administered along with it. read more

Poor customer service. I was tested in August and was charged $150 for a rapid test, in spite of the fact that my insurance is in network with Innovative Express Care. Medical offices cannot charge a cash pay price for a service if they accept a patient's insurance without first billing out for it. Innovative Express knows they were blatantly breaking this rule because they no longer charge a fee for the rapid. I have called every other week for the past 3 months and have been told by billing I would receive a check in the mail with my refund. I still have not received it, and it is impossible to get anyone from the office on the phone. I understand you are performing hundreds of tests a day and likely dealing with lots of issues, but I need to receive my refund or at least know when I should expect it. read more

This is a review for the secretaries that work here. They are incompetent and extremely helpless. Waited an hour for my appointment because the secretary was too lazy herself to verify my insurance information. After calling myself and letting her know that it was eligible I went back to finally see the doctor/nurse. If I could give zero starts I would! I went to Get a checkup and they said I owed $1000 for a COVID test, A THOUSAND DOLLARS? They're free, but my insurance wasn't on file and when I got there they said their system was down for my insurance and I had to pay for everything up front which was another $300 bucks, but wouldn't reimburse me when their systems were up. I wish I could give less than 1 star. Absolutely do not go here for anything COVID related, its a scam. I went on June 12, everything went smoothly with my antibody test. I was told I'd get a call in 3 days with results. After 4 days, I called and you are not even given an option to speak with someone directly. So I waited and waited and waited for days, checking my phone consistently and making sure I was not on silent to ensure I don't miss any calls. After finally leaving a voicemail at their offices today, I got an automated text within a few mins saying my test came back negative, that I could see my results on their online portal and that someone called me & left a voicemail on June 15. None of this is true, and if you look online at other reviews, people are sharing the same experience of being told that in online reviews like this one. They have a script where they tell patients someone called and left a voicemail on a day that is conveniently 3 days after the appointment. Do not go here, this is not a legitimate COVID testing center and I'm taking action to make sure the testing gets shut down so no one else gets scammed by this place. I haven't even gotten the bill from my insurance, where they probably charged me $200 for a test that costs only $10. DO NOT GO HERE. I've been to this office a few times over the last year for various reasons. I was initially seen when I was having severe back and knee pain. Service then was prompt with radiographs and a referral to physical therapy which helped immensely (also bought a new mattress). Over this past weekend I developed a severe sore throat and mild fever and after a few days decided to see a doctor thinking they wouldn't be able to do much but tell me to ride out my virus. They showed empathy to the pain with my throat and administered an injection of an nSAID to help bring down the inflammation and prescribed some pain medication to help me sleep and eat. I was finally able to sleep that night after 3 nights of restlessness. I felt a little better after being able to get some sleep and went to work the next day. That night I had a severe respiratory issue that left me struggling to breathe for a few minutes that resolved before the ambulance needed to be called. This morning I woke up with no voice but dragged myself to work only to start struggling to breathe again. Made the soonest appointment I could and showed up about an hour early to a waiting room FULL of patients. Yikes. Checked in and the nurse at the desk noticed the difficulty I had speaking, gave me a piece of paper to write down my name and DOB and asked if I was okay. I struggled and mentioned I was having difficulty taking breaths. She quickly put me in a room, took my vitals, grabbed a doctor who listened to me and set me up with a breathing treatment and steroids. They monitored me until my airways opened up more and I felt okay to go home. They filled my prescription for steroids at the office while I waited so I could just go home and rest. I appreciate the to-the-point, yet friendly demeanor of all the staff members at this office. They found a good middle with not being overly chatty but not coming off cold. It's unbelievably easy to schedule appointments and manage records (they email them to you same day). And this last part may not be a big deal for most people, but I honestly appreciate that everyone from the doctor, to the nurse to the receptionist tell me they hope I feel better on my way out. read more

My husband and I were very fortunate to find out this clinic. We tested positive for COVID and after a week our symptoms worsened and I was afraid we'd have to go to emergency room/ hospital. We received a treatment with monoclonal antibodies (ABSOLUTELY FREE (no insurance)), and I believe that saved our lives. Easy to schedule an appointment, quick and efficient service on site. Making and appointment is easy and the actual testing on-site is smooth but I received two COVID tests at the Diversey location and Innovative Express charged me for both. They code their drive through testing as "office visits" and made no mention of the visits being for COVID tests. Not sure about other insurance, but United Healthcare has a cost associated with office visits/visit that aren't COVID test related. Dr. Khare is quoted in a WGN article saying his clinic will test for free. I've requested they resubmit the claims under a different code and will update this review with how they handle. read more

Be aware of the bait and switch happening here. I've been sick for 2 weeks and wanted a covid 19 test because I have the symptoms except my fever wasn't that high. They charge 100$ for a two minute video conference call, well they agreed I should come in for a covid 19 test and told me they would bill my insurance. I had filled out all the information about my insurance before the video conference. The next day I went there for the test and they told me they don't take my insurance but I could pay 250$ for the test! Are you kidding me? They refuse to refund my 100$. My family had Covid testing done here. Staff while there were very nice but they are only wearing a mask and I was really surprised that's the only precaution they had to protect their employees. I also had a false positive for my rapid test and I know a few others who also had a false positive here on rapid test but not lab test. We were originally told if my rapid came back positive I definitely have Covid...this is absolutely not true! It caused a lot of stress and while waiting for results. Also, I have asked for an itemized statement for my family's rapid tests and have not received one word back. I need to submit for insurance and they have TERRIBLE customer service when it comes to billing and no way to leave a voicemail. Please be aware before testing here for rapid tests. I went here for a regular PCR test after I came down with covid symptoms. The testing process was smooth & I was told I'd receive the result via text in 2-3 days. Three days passed with no text. I started checking the patient portal regularly and there was no test result shown. I messaged the office through the portal and got no response. I could not find a phone number to call. After another spending another 3 days in isolation from my family, I found a phone number to contact. I called and the receptionist was able to give me my result and said she'd post it to the portal. The lab result is from 3 days ago!! Would they have ever sent me my result if I didn't call? Prompt test results are essential to curbing the pandemic and Innovative Express Care MAJORLY FAILED on this part. I will never go there or recommend them to anyone. Had COVID test 8 days ago so that I could join my family over thanksgiving weekend if my test was negative. The rest of the family went to CVS and all got their results within 3 days. Service is friendly and efficient. Treatment and resources are top notch. I've had two amazing experiences at Innovative Express Care. The first time was a Sunday, the day before I was leaving for vacation. IEC was able to get me in on a Sunday afternoon, run a strep test, and prescribe and give me the antibiotic within a half hour. No waiting. No trip to the pharmacy. No hassle. Amazing. The second time was over this winter. I was too sick to leave home so the physician at IEC scheduled me for an evening(!) tele-visit. I was able to Skype with him and discuss my symptoms. He called in a prescription for my nausea and I was able to pick it up minutes later. Could not have been more easy or convenient and saved me a trip to the ER. And it's all covered by my insurance. Amazing! Could not recommend it more highly. Staff is efficient, courteous and the space is beautiful. I'll definitely be going back. read more

So I tried another iv and it was going fine until the fluids ran out. (Though they did not take any vitals from me before starting the iv, only after it was done, which is kind of unusual). I sat there for a while thinking someone would come in, but as I waited my blood started to fill the empty tube and I needed to use the restroom. There's no way to reach the door with the iv in so I started shouting "hello" and "excuse me" over and over assuming someone would hear, but no one did. There were several people in the computer station area talking about food. Everyone talks at work, I don't think there's anything wrong with that, but if you know someone is hooked up to an iv that's probably close to the end and you've instructed them to "yell if you need something", I guess keep an ear out? Finally, I texted my husband in the waiting room and he came back and told them my iv was empty and my blood was filling the tube. Someone unhooked it then (though a good 8 inches of the iv tube was full of my blood by that time). After that happened it got (and stayed) really quiet at the computer station area. My husband also got several stare downs and weird looks from everyone sitting there. Anyway, I don't think that I will be giving this place a third try for iv hydration, which is a bummer because it's cheaper than the the other IV/wellness place (since they take insurance). Unfortunately, I just don't feel confident about coming back here for that. I would suggest getting some sort of call button system or leaving the door cracked for people getting Iv's that may need assistance. I was in the med spa room, not a regular patient room, so maybe that was part of the problem. IV hydration is advertised as a service on their site, so I think having a set process/system in place is essential if they're being done regularly - it just doesn't seem like one exists. read more

Terrible billing!!!!!! I have been loyally coming to this clinic since early 2015, when their parking lot was still ruble and Dr. Khare was by himself. In those years I have referred coworkers and family. The first hiccup came early 2017, when my parents attended this clinic. I called ahead and verified they took their insurance, United Healthcare. The receptionist confirmed it and to our surprise a few weeks later they got a letter in the mail stating their claim denied as they were not in-network. After multiple calls to the insurance and the clinic, an invoice with a different clinic name, and many headaches later we cleared it up and the insurance paid. Fast forward December 2017, when my husband got injured. Even after my parents issues I still decided to remain a loyal patient as I've had good experiences with the doctors themselves. I made an appointment for my husband and after seeing him they decided he needed an MRI. From past experience I called to ensure the referral was in-network and to no surprise it was not. We cleared it up and they sent us to the Loop for an in-network clinic. Next day he goes for follow up with innovative express care who decides he needs a follow up with a specialist. Here is where I went wrong. After all these issues I figured somewhere they would have on our files how important in-network is to us. WRONG. After seeing the specialist this clinic referred us to our insurance denied the claim, which included a follow up X-ray and two visits, as they were, surprise, OUT OF NETWORK. We were able to cancel the rest of the visits and avoid additional costs. Yes, this is my mistake, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. We might be out a grand, but Dr. Khare, you have lost a loyal client with your terrible billing practices. The doctors are fine, they see you in and out, but unless you get more efficient staff I will no longer return to innovative express care. read more

I was here a couple months ago for severe intestinal pain. They were unable to figure out what was wrong with me, but charged me for a myriad of tests anyway. I received bills for three different pregnancy tests that they never told me they were doing and refused to take off my bill. I was given an unnecessary IV that added a couple hundred dollars to my bill when I could have just had a glass of water and been fine. When I called to ask about my bill the woman who answered the phone just transferred me to the billing department, who of course couldn't tell me why I had been charged the way I had and couldn't help me. When I called back and said that the billing department couldn't help me the woman on the phone just sighed and asked me to email my bills to her. My bills that they should already have. So I still haven't paid my bill from several months ago because they can't figure out what I should owe. If you're sick just stay home for a couple weeks. No one here will help you. read more

Seems like a better place to catch Covid than to test for it! My husband and I made appointments for Covid tests and showed up a few minutes early. Even though this was supposed to be in-car and curbside, we had to get out of our car to check in at a desk around other people. Then, we waited in the car for someone to come take our tests. Someone finally came 25 minutes later, and was within a foot of me in my car, so you can forget even trying to keep a distance! They screwed up the paperwork, and only had a test for me and not my husband. We waited another 30 minutes, at which time I got out of the car to ask for his test again at the desk. Only then did they bring his out. Everyone looked confused. We had a total of 10 visits by 4 different people throughout our hour of wait. Considering each of them were within a foot of other sick people before each of those 10 visits sure seems like too many opportunities to transmit the virus when we're trying to screen against it.
