Yum!!! First time going here and I really enjoyed it. Honey lavender is one of my favorite ice cream flavor and this may be the best iteration of honey lavender that I've ever had. In addition to this, the scoops are huge, which I can appreciate in today's economy LOL. Ended up here because Little Man had an hour long line...and this place was great! I got the smallest size, a junior for just under $6. Nice easy going ice cream shop on Platte St. They had 20 flavors of ice cream and sorbet you can get in a cup or cone. They welcome dogs. While I was there, several groups of customers came in with small & large dogs. There were 2 staff persons and they said hi when I walked in. An interesting piece of art on the wall showing varities of ice cream scoops including sign indicating first African American, Alfred Cralle to be awarded a patent for inventing the ice cream scoop in Pittsburgh on February 2, 1897. Stoked to have finally checked this spot out. I love that you can get 2 flavors in any size. I got the junior with two flavors, which were delicious: Minnesota toffee and key lime pie. No, they don't go together, but they're fantastic. They also give many samples and are patient with you. If you get one flavor with the junior size you get less ice cream though oddly. Just use this information wisely :) inside is pretty bare bones but that's not a bad thing when they pour their love into the ice cream (I even noted some vegan flavors!). read more

Inside Scoop is a nice alternative if you're looking for a smaller establishment, shorter lines, creamy ice cream and not having to walk over the bridge to the overhyped place in the highlands. When we lived in Denver, we'd pop into the Littleton location since that was closer to where we lived at the time. As tourists now, we had dinner down the street and wanted a sweet treat afterwards so came to the Platte location. The guy working was hilarious, friendly, super informative and helpful. There's plenty of seating inside with a couple of tables outside as well. My husband and I shared a double scoop of Oreo and their version of butter pecan, though I forget exactly what we ordered. Nice ice cream shop with good service and yummy flavors. We got the salty pistachio and rocky road. The pistachio wasn't very salty but was a solid pistachio ice cream. Went here yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. They had a wide variety of flavors to choose from an all were delicious. I recommend the peanut butter pretzel! There is plenty of seating indoors. You can't really go wrong when the first thing you notice about an ice cream shop is the inviting smell of waffle cones! I decided to branch out from my usual flavor and try the Minnesota Salted Toffee. I was really expecting a little more toffee and perhaps after eating for a bit that immediate taste was gone but did get notes of maple syrup. I liked that it was really creamy (so creamy it didn't want to stay as a scoop in my cone so in a cup it went)! Another good piece was the little chocolate chunks, hello chocolate. As always, the individual working when I stopped in was phenomenal, and was nothing but patient and friendly while I changed my mind about 25 times. They have a good variety of flavors, the ice cream was soft and creamy, and the servings were amazing. We love the location of this ice cream place because it's walking distance from our home. It's easy to find and right on the main stretch of businesses along Platte street. There is typically only ever one person working (when we've gone at least), but they are always friendly and efficient. There's nothing fancy inside, but there is a few tables for seating available. I really love the art work (in the image you can see my favorite piece which is a bunch of old, different ice cream scoops)! Great place! We were having lunch in lo hi and ice cream sounded good, but not stand in line for 45 minutes good. Glad that we found Inside Scoop! We had the Cherry Cobbler. Very strong natural cherry flavor balanced with a sweet and creamy base. Sometimes you have something like this and it's too fruity or not enough, but inside scoop is just right. Great boutique ice cream parlor in a hip area of Denver. The woman scooping the ice cream was super enthusiastic and helpful. How many times have you asked for your third taste test of an ice cream flavor and had to endure major sighing and attitude from the other side of he counter? This is NOT the case here at Inside Scoop. My wife and two boys and I tasted a few before making our commitments. The quality of the ice cream is really top notch: lots of butter cream to give it the ideal texture. My son had the Minnesota salted toffee--apparently, the toffee is made there especially for this ice cream. It was delicious! My other son had the strawberry, which is a good litmus Test of the quality of the ice cream in general. The strawberry had tons of real fruit taste and wasn't too sweet. The chocolate mousse and the vanilla coconut were both excellent, as well. We don't usually splurge on the waffle cones, but they just smelled too darned good. So, both boys had fresh waffle cones--the server was nice enough to encourage the boys to each pick out the specific cone he wanted! Nice touch. Will definitely make a special trip to this neighborhood to have some Inside Scoop next time I'm in Denver. read more

They had good variety to choose from but.....the ice cream melted too fast, and it wasn't even hot out! Of all the dessert shops we've hit lately the ice cream at this one melted just way too fast. I think I'll still give it another try next time cuz it's nice to have another option in the area other than little man. So I'm pretty much obsessed with ice cream and the flavors here do not disappoint! I recently came with some friends and had a great time trying the different flavors. They have a lot of unique flavors like horchata and honey lavender which were both great ( I had to try some samples of those ones) but I ended up going with the Pistachio and Sea Salt which had great subtle flavors. I also ended up taking a pint of Mint Chocolate Chip home with me. This spot is a hidden, not so hidden gem! A little backstory: My friend recently moved to the Denver area and so I came to visit and to help him explore. I scoured reviews and blogs and travel sites to see where we should check out. A few of them pointed us in the direction of Little Man Ice cream. After having dinner in Denver, I was determined to get ice cream so we headed over there. The line went all the way down the block. There was no way I could get him to even consider stopping the car, so I jumped on my trusty Yelp app to save the day. Not more than 1-2 minutes away I found Inside Scoop Creamery. So we headed over there. Inside Scoop is a cute little ice cream shop. They have a good variety of flavors too. Some are more traditional, some are more unique. I hear they keep changing, but when I went some of the more normal flavors were Oreo, Butter Pecan, and Dulce de Leche. Some more unique flavors were Horchata, Butterfinger and Key Lime Pie. They also had a few sorbets as well. I opted to split my cone between the Oreo and the cherry sorbet. Both flavors were so so good. I would definitely come back here. Another unique aspect of the shop was the live social media updates. That's right. They have a board the shuffles through their social media accounts to and shows the numbers of likes, followers or their current yelp score. Live. That's right live. There are a decent variety of flavors to choose from, including some traditional ones (like vanilla, mint chocolate chip, cookie dough) and others that are more interesting (like strawberry basil and honey lavender). I got a junior cup and thought that the portion size was great, especially for the price. You can also choose up to two flavors, so I got both the honey lavender and caramel & sea salt and enjoyed both. Inside Scoop is also at a great location, on Platte St with several other shops/eateries. This shop itself is clean and cute. Inside, there is even a real-time social media dashboard, which I thought was a unique addition. There is seating inside and a few chairs right outside the shop as well. Really great small hole-in-the-wall!!!! But with so much variety and goodness. The hostess was also very nice. She gave a samples scoop to the guy who was homeless. I was quite overwhelmed about that and gave her enough money for her to give a scoop to any homeless guy that comes next - that's how good vibe the store had. Please come here and have these good variety. The taste is something very very good.
