These guys are friendly and knowledgeable. They had my inspection done on time and for a reasonable price.

They were very friendly, super fast, and it was really handy that they could do an oil change for me at the same time. I found the man who inspected my car to be honest and helpful. The good: A great website with the ability to book appointments online. Polite secretary. BAD: I got an out of province inspection done. The technician found that one of my wheel bearings was making noise and he obviously noted it on the form and told me in person. What he did however was write the WRONG one down on the form. So I got the left one replaced for $200 when it was the right one that was failing all along. Made me waste $200 on a perfectly good bearing and caused me a great deal of difficulty. The technician looked half asleep and didn't even apologize when his mistake was made apparent. I'm appalled and will definitely be recommending any of my family and friends NOT visit this facility. You're better off somewhere where they can just fix your car at the same time. read more

I've had to use Inspecta Car a few times and it's always been a life saver. Like most women I don't consider myself a mechanic and when it comes to the condition of a car if it looks pretty than I assume it's pretty! In buying a vehicle that's really not the most important aspect as it may be beautiful but if the engine is about to explode or the cars mechanical is about to fall apart having it look pretty will be useless. I was referred to them by a friend when I was going to buy a used vehicle, they reccommend me taking it in to Inspecta Car becuase there business model is to do inspections and give you unbiased report on your vehicle. I think I'm not the only that feels like mechanics make things up when you have them look at a vehicle. The first car that I wanted was beautiful on the outside and a nightmare waiting to happen. Cody clearly explained to me what the major issues were and in his opinion it was a money pit waiting to happen. I feel like a dodged a bullet! With some knowledge based on what Cody told me what I should be aware of it was easier to find my car. Once I found the one I liked I took it in and everything was as it appeared to be and I Cody ensured me it was a fair price for the car. I've had little problems with the Car and at one point my check engine light came on I decided to pop over to Inspecta Car. They hooked it up to there machine and although embarrassed I was thankful. I had not tighten the cap on my gas tank and it made the light come on. They cleared it and on my way! Its a mechanical shop to tell you your issues but they don't do major repairs but knowing exactly what needs to be done I'm confident I won't be getting ripped off which is our biggest fear for the blind when it comes to our cars! I barely know these guys however I took my car to them over a year ago and it was a great experience. Since then I have told my friends and family about their services. It's a really thing to know how safe your car is and what it may need for repair. I see a few bad reviews, but I wouldn't trust a few grumpy people over top of good reviews such as this one. To add to the review... My mother has been getting her car fixed there every time she has a something gone wrong and she is treated very fairly. I set up a used-car inspection with this company by long distance and they were great. Fast communication, easy appointment process and very polite. Was selling my car and the buyer and I agreed to use them as the inspector for the car. After inspecting the car, they pointed out many things wrong with the car which made the sale very difficult. I insisted we double check with all the claims this company made that was wrong with the car to the Dealer on my dime. The Dealer did a complete check and double checked everything they said was wrong and showed us first hand by going into the bay and showing us. Almost 80% of what they had fail on in their report was a definite non fail to the Dealer or even a concern. First they said on the report it was listed in miles so the vehicle came from the states. But the vehicle was listed and clearly shows in km, bought from a Dealership in Canada. They said the vehicle had engine leaks and the turbo in the car was leaking oil. Dealer shows there was no engine leak just a little bit of oil was spilt during the last oil change and trickled down a little. They said there was a rad leak coming from the radiator and which had a hole or crack. Dealer found out the clamp was just loose and tightened it with a new clamp. They said the left rear joint was loose and needed replacement. But Dealer checked and found it was the right but not loose. It was just not as tight as the left, but did not need to be replaced. They claimed the AC belt was cracked but again, Dealer said the belt is not cracked, it is designed like that and looks like that. Dealer had to grab a new belt to show us the comparison and Dealer was correct. They said the right turning switch was faulty because it blinked faster then the left. Turns out the light bulb was just burnt out so that's the vehicles way of telling you to look at your right turning lights and change a bulb. Their reports were unlike most out of province inspection reports or Dealer inspections that I've seen. Their reports just say fail or pass. There really is no medium or anything in the middle. Most inspections will come back saying percentages, needs replacing and an estimated time line, or exact cause. Their reports just say fail or pass. For example: "Vehicle starts: Pass". All said and done, they estimated the repairs would cost in the thousands. So naturally this would either deter a buyer from buying or really favor the buyer in trying to drop the price down. My advice unless if you are trying to sell a high end or specialty car, don't take it to these guys. Take it to the Dealer who sees the cars and engines more often. The price will be similar if not cheaper. These guys aren't exactly inexpensive then the next guy. They charge a pretty hefty price for their claimed expertise. read more
