I brought my wife's new vehicle in for an estimate to repair minor paint scape,(I thought) to lower passenger door. the lad (sorry I cannot remember name) took a look ,then bent down down and scraped most of it off with his hand. Turned out it wasn't a scrape but plastic left on car after someone hit it with a scooter or buggy..... the estimator then took the car into repair facility and had it buffed. All gone, no cost. He could have said it s 500 bucks and I would not have argued..... And to top it off I enjoyed a complimentary bag of popcorn and chocolate chip cookies. Great service and honesty to boot. Thankyou. So.. my car was stolen.. found a month later and dragged to A-1 for repair. I was told by Intact insurance that I did not have to take my car back if it was found. I took my keys to A-1 where I was lied to and told I was signing a release of the vehicle to Intact. Now Intact is telling me to that I was signing acceptance of my car. Don't trust anything they tell you about your vehicle or what you are signing. I feel incredibly deceived and am just getting started on my social media campaign against them! Wish I could give this ZREO stars. Insurance told me to go to this auto body. they had my SUV for almost a whole month. When I called for information on my SUV, I asked how much longer it would take, they gave me a rude answer on why its taking so long. they put blame on everyone else. The front desk ladies were helpful but unprofessional, making rude remarks on my insurance company. they called me on a May 18th Friday, at 10:46am to tell me the SUV is ready, with no consideration of my time. I was on my way to a work trip and wouldn't of made it back in time for the rental shop or the auto body shop as they close 4-5pm and it was the start of a long weekend everything would be closed until May 23rd 2023. luckily the rental shop was very understanding and helped me figure of my rental deadline. You know it would be nice if they gave me a heads up the day before. Now when I picked up my SUV as I was driving away all iI heard was a terrible scraping sound coming from underneath the SUV. I told them and they drove it and the took it in to the shop and looked underneath, they told me it was my back wheel bearing and showed me that the whole tire was shaky..... when I brought my SUV into the shop it was not making that noise and it wasn't shaking that like that AT ALL. Right way they tried to quote me on the wheel bearing and I wanted to talk to the manager, I did but like I said they put blame of everyone else, before I left I asked the manager if I crash because of this, is it your guys fault ? and he said no. No caring, no trust, nothing but disappointment. I hope someone reads this and makes a better choice. read more

The staff were friendly, professional and provided the estimate very quickly. They confirmed the arrangements for the rental car for the time the vehicle was in the shop. The auto rental folk come to the body shop deliver and pick up the rental car. The body work was done approximately 3 weeks later. The work is amazing and the car looks like new! The staff were prompt and efficient in communication with me. They provide coffee, tea and cookies in a comfortable place to wait. Their office is easy to find and they have adequate parking. I went to A1 Auto Body in Calgary because they advertise themselves as being Honda specialists and I frequently own Hondas. I first brought my Honda CRV there about 12 years ago, after the hood was dented. I didn't request cheap repairs, I asked for the best that they could do. Upon their recommendation I allowed their dent repair wizard to bang out the dents. After I picked up my car it was immediately obvious that only about half of the dents were banged out and the rest were still easy to spot. I brought my CRV back to the shop and the manager of the day accused me of taking my car through a car wash with rollers and he refused to warranty the work. The dentless repair only cost a couple of hundred dollars and I really didn't want A1 to touch my car anymore so I went somewhere else and had the job done properly. The second time that I went to A1 was last week when I called their service department to get an estimate on replacing the GPS console on my Accord. I gave them the part number that I needed and they assured me that they'd call around to wreckers to get the readily available part, and then they'd get me a quote. It's been a over a week and I still haven't heard from them. Don't waste your time with A1. read more

I got hit in an incredibly annoying accident and A1 Autobody was recommended to me by my insurance company. They took great care of me and my car. Renting me a civic while they fixed my car. The repairs were affordable and the staff was understanding. I didn't once feel like I was getting treated like a "girl at a mechanic". As much as I hate to perpetuate that stereotype, it's true. While it is most annoying to find some dishonest coward has dented your car's fender in a hit and run, the staff at A1 Autobody help make you feel better. They treat you kindly, set up your appointment promptly and do fantastic work on the car. They even detailed it when they were finished. They are patient and answer all your questions. Took a colleague here to get a small scratch looked at (1mm length, wasn't deep or below the clear coat). A-1 quoted me $1200 to fix it. I took it to another shop to get a quote and they polished the scratch out in 5 minutes - free. I've had several cars restored and worked on - never seen such blatant and disgusting attempt to prey on people. This place is, in my opinion, to be avoided. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID. read more

1. Our vehicle was damaged as a result of a rear end collision that damaged the front and rear bumpers. 2. A-1 had our vehicle ready when they promised but the paint work completed on the front bumper did not match the rest of the body paint. This was not a subtle difference but a very obvious difference. In addition, the front bumper was not installed properly and had missing body bolts. A-1 indicated the prognosis was that they did not provide enough coats of paint on the metallic painted finish and they would repaint the bumper and correct the mountign of the front bumper. 3. I booked the car in a second time and after providing another week for the vehicle to get the paint matched. We received the vehicle back and the paint match was closer but not perfect. In addition, the body hardware and assembly had not been completed at all. 4. To resolve this I took apart the front bumper assembly and remounted it correctly after receiving the missing body bolts that were ordered from the dealer. 5. We also had our windshield replaced during the same time. We noticed that the review mirror was loose when we received it back the second time. I had to take the time to remove it and remount the mirror properly. 6. I have taken many vehicles to A-1 auto body with no problems at all upon picking it up the first time. Something has changed at the shop over the past two years and their reputation has clearly changed direction. 7. I would not return to this shop for any work nor would I recommend this shop. read more

I was greeted when I first walked in with compassion and knowledge of what is going to happen with my car. I was in contact through email and phone as to what I needed to do. I came in and was given a replacement vehicle and told my car would be finished in 3 - 5 days and that is what is was, 3 days.
