Typical tourist gift shop with souvenir clothing, toys, beach apparel and toys, snacks, alcohol beverages etc. They're basically an all-in-one shop if you need anything from food to clothing! Of course everything has the tourist price tag though. My brother in law purchased a beach hat so he wouldn't burn up in the summer sun and that cost him a whopping $50. They definitely have some cute stuff but you'll be paying the tourist pricing for it! Cute shop though.

We were juggling several things at home, so her having to leave was just a little stressful. (Plus I think that she had some doubts as to whether her husband could man the ship without her.) Trying to put her mind at ease, I decided to send flowers. Having no "go to" florist in Virginia Beach, I struggled with selecting one. I picked Eclectic Design. Obviously, I needed the flowers delivered to her hotel. Eclectic Design not only provided a beautiful arrangement (the flowers grabbed the attention of the other ladies at the meeting) at a wonderful price, they were more than happy to accommodate with a timely delivery. I even tried to provide a tip for the person delivering. They insisted that there was no need for that. I would certainly use Eclectic Design again when my wife gets called into the office and would recommend them to anyone needing flowers and/or gifts.

My sister and I stood at the register, without acknowledgement, while the woman behind the counter continued her conversation on the phone. I asked if the shop gives military discounts. She paused her conversation long enough to say no, we're a mom and pops and then continued her conversation with describing the item I wanted to purchase to the person on the other end of the phone. This woman clearly either expected me, the customer, to wait until she was finished on the phone or she had no intention of assisting me. Either way, the customer service is awful. As I stated, we have to go, and then my sister and I begin to walk away, the women suddenly became aware of my presence and ask, "would you like for me to hold it for you?". In a day and age when I could choose to spend less money on overnight floral delivery from Amazon prime, on groupon, or have a coupon for pro flowers, I choose to spend my money at a local business to support them. I expect a minimum of manners and appreciation of my business. I found the opposite here. I called for a last minute order for Valentine's Day for my mother. It also happens to be the anniversary of my Father's death. I asked if they had an arrangement around $65. He said "not much for that price"... funny because their website has categories according to Price. Under 50, $50-$60, $60-$80. He suggested something and I agreed, gave him the address. When he realized it was a gated community, he said "you realize it's our busiest day and that a gate is going to slow my drivers down. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE ma'am." At which point I realized that my $65 wasn't enough to please them or make their time worthy. I told him to "not worry about it as I don't feel my business is valued." At which point he hung up on me. Virginia Beach Florist at hilltop just received $125 of my business because their staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly and says they deal with this gated community on a regular basis. They will be getting my business and rave reviews. Thank you to them, and thank you to this business for dropping the ball to help me find a wonderful Florist for the future. I very rarely write bad reviews. I believe in positive feedback and I would have loved to speak with a manager but I was hung up on.
