First, a bit of my story. I started playing football in second grade. I remember taking big hits…read moreand even getting knocked out back then. I played up through my sophomore year in high school. I did not play junior year because of a car accident I was in over the summer. I had hear trauma from that ad have zero memory of anything around that time. I started playing rugby in college. I played three years in college, and two years of men's club after college. Needless to say, just about every weekend I took hits to the head, some were definitely concussions and repeat concussion at that. I've even knocked myself out putting away Christmas directions in the attic by hitting my head on a rafter. A few years ago, my wife told me about this Chiropractor in the Mechanicsburg area that specialized in head injury and concussion. I was interested and got some additional information, but didn't do anything with it ever though I have been showing signs of memory loss, anger, and a few others. Fast forward to late summer 2016. I ended up bouncing my head off the hardwood floor of my home. Was not knocked out, but began throwing up immediately. I went and saw my PCP the next day and was diagnosed with concussion and sent home. At that point all I wanted to do was hide in a black hole. Everything was setting me off. Thankfully I remembered about the Dr. in Mechanicsburg, or my wife reminded me. I don't remember... My wife and I met with Dr. Dave a few days later. His concern and care was evident immediately. We talked about the severity of having somewhere around 15 plus concussions and my symptoms. I was having light sensitivity, issue with sounds, constant headache, anger issues, balance problems, and some major stuttering. I felt like Ozzy Osbourne was talking when I tried to speak. I was in a very dark place, and didn't know if I would or could ever come out of it. Well Dr. Dave did his initial assessment, then gave me a treatment. I could not believe the immediate relief I felt. When I say immediate, I mean immediate! Like while I sat there. I cried. I was not cured by any means, but it was a start. I started seeing Dr. Dave twice a week for a few weeks. I was feeling so much better!!!! I decided to take some time off from treatments to see how I was. Wouldn't you know it, I take a full size Tonka dump truck to the forehead. I needed to get back. Thankfully I was able to get back in to him! He was more than supportive and did not push the financial aspect. I have never been in contact with another medical professional that was so willing to work with me no matter what my situation. I am so thankful that I was in the right place at the right time to be treated by the Headache Freedom Center of Harrisburg. If you are still reading this and wondering if it is right for you, stop reading right now and contact the Center! I can honestly say that I probably owe him my life and my sanity. I had a lot of people praying and supporting me through this time, and I know that the combination of that, and the treatments from the Center got me to where I am today. I had been prescribed pain medication and even got shots of muscle relaxers, all masking the issue but never really resolving it or helping in the long run. I decided to try Chiropractic and Life Adjusted was recommended to me by a friend. Dr Bree was absolutely amazing on my first trip and every visit after. She explained everything to me, took her time with me and calmed my fears. I was in some rough shape so I had to go pretty frequently until I was back to normal, I now go for maintenance every 2 or 3 weeks. I can honestly say Life Adjusted has changed my life. After the initial consultation,…read moreI returned to the office to review my options and see what the recommend treatment plan was. The total cost was $7200.00 for treatment (out of pocket insurance does not cover any cost) and I had to decide on the spot, that day if I wanted the services or not. When asked if I could have time to think about it first, I was told no. I was promised that 6 months of therapy was like 7 years of psychiatric therapy. Out of desperation I elected to take the therapy offered. Over the next 3 months of weekly appointments, I was given over 25 different supplements; some I only took for two or three weeks. I laid on a table and had different little bottles placed on my chest. After 10 minutes, I was given a list of what supplements to take and then put on a machine that swayed me from side to side. Only four actual appointments addressed the different traumas I had experienced throughout my life, and I was asked to put my hands in weird positions, then asked to embrace the moment of trauma, not how to release it, feel better, stop obsessing over it or strategies to decrease my depression/PTSD. I put my trust in the doctor, and it was an absolute failure. I called the office and told them I was not coming in anymore, expressed my reasons why and was refunded $1900. I do not recommend this practice. It was a waste of time and money.
