I had two large reach-in closets that needed updating...one in our primary bedroom and another in a nursery-to-be. I worked with Gail, and right from the start she was easy to talk to and full of great ideas. She really listened to my very specific vision and collaborated with me seamlessly to bring it to life. 5/5 - Outstanding Workmanship and Long-Lasting Quality We worked with Inspired Closets in Woodland Hills about a year and a half ago, and now--after using their installation daily--we can confidently say that the quality of both the materials and the craftsmanship is outstanding. Our installer, Eddie, did an exceptional job. The project was fairly complex: four full walls of custom cabinetry, a built-in work desk, and a thoughtfully designed mudroom area. This was all done during a garage-to-family-room/office conversion. Midway through the project, we had an unexpected challenge--our ceiling height had to be lowered, which directly affected several cabinets. Eddie listened carefully to our ideas, and with creativity and precision, he made the adjustments work beautifully. After 18 months of heavy daily use, every drawer, door, and shelf is still perfectly aligned, level, and scratch-free. It's clear that both the products from Inspired Closets and Eddie's installation are built to last. We hired Desiree almost a year ago in 2024 to help us design all the closets in our new home in Hermosa Beach (three total, including our Primary, guest, and 13 year old daughter). We contracted with Inspired Closets to construct built-in organizers for a small office and kitchen pantry. The construction was particle board with a plastic coating. I'm ambivalent about particle board due to some quality problems with this material in the past, and would generally prefer plywood with wood veneer or painted finish. However, the installation was very well done, with a good final result, and represented reasonably good value. There was one significant problem with the pantry organizer. To account for irregularities in the original home construction, the shelves were built slightly small for the space, with spacers on one side to fill the gap. Unfortunately, the gaps wasted about 3 cubic of space where we wanted to maximize our storage capacity. I would have preferred the shelves to be individually made to measure, but apparently this is not within Inspired Closets' usual protocol. They also did not notify us at the time of ordering that the unit would be built this way. We had very poor responsiveness to our attempts to have this issue corrected. We scheduled an inspection date, only to be told they weren't going to make it the day before. Someone came on the new date, re-measured and told us we would be contacted. After not hearing back from them for a week, we called and couldn't reach anyone who knew what was going on. We left a message for a manager, and finally got a call back a few days later. They were not helpful. The manager we spoke to stated if we insisted on having the installation re-done, this would invalidate the lifetime warranty. There was no practical reason for this, and it seemed to be their way of getting out of making the correction. It was already a month after the original installation, and we were tired of living with the pantry contents scattered over several rooms in the house, so we decided to live with it as-is instead of getting involved in a prolonged dispute. I would not use Inspired Closets again. If you're planning on hiring them, be sure you know all the details in advance to avoid surprises like we encountered. read more

In December 2023, we reached out to Inspired Closets in Woodland Hills to design two custom closets -- a walk-in closet for our master bedroom and a smaller closet for the nursery. Of all the closet companies we contacted, I felt we made the best choice with Inspired Closets! Our consultation with Laura was great! She was attentive, listened to all our wants and needs, was honest and transparent about cost, showed us samples, and really took the time to sit with us and design our master walk-in closet. She was very responsive to our emails post-consultation and made as many adjustments to our design as needed. The wait was probably the hardest part but understandable because all pieces are custom made. Prepare for 8-10 weeks before installation. The installation itself took 2 days. They took care of demo, patch, paint (you provide paint), installation, and clean-up. Our installer found a blemish that he couldn't wipe out and promised to return with a replacement drawer face. I honestly didn't think he needed to (or was actually going to), but sure enough a couple weeks later I get a call from Laura asking us when they could come by and replace it. After shopping around local big box stores, we were horrified at the $12,000 price tag - dropping to $9,000 on sale (not including installation). True from Inspired Closets came out to the house and reviewed available space, project needs and budget limitations. We are supper happy with our recent closet project. Our goal was to turn a closet space into a functional, permanent wall unit for a bedroom we use as an office. Our designer, Amy helped us turn what were poorly constructed shelves (previous owners) into that type of unit. Tiffany came over to our house, took measurements, asked for our requirements and got a lovely design ready in no time. We came back to her with some changes to the design and she was great in adapting the changes and making it all look good.
