I don't live in Mississauga anymore and still drive to Monaco to get my hair done. It's a…read morerelatively small place, but very popular. It's run by an older European man (either Italian or Portuguese, I can't tell) but the Polish female hairdressers are what make this place amazing. Sure, they're a bit chatty sometimes and have a lot of Polish clients, but if you don't mind that, you should give this place a try. They speak both English and Polish. I've rated them highly because they consistently do well in the following categories: HAIR CUTS - My sister and mom also get their hair done there, and considering the three of us have completely different styles and the ladies at Monaco can make us all happy, you can tell they're really talented. COLOUR - I used to go to a place where anyone who got highlights got one or both of the same two colours. That won't happen here. They're really good at mixing the exact colour(s) you want. STYLING - This salon did all the up-do's for the girls in my sister's wedding (including mine) and we were all really happy. It looked great all night and did not feel like it was caked in hair products. Plus, if you go in there with an idea/picture of what you want, they'll give great advice on how it may look on you if you ask them. Overall, their pricing is reasonable, their hours are accommodating, and everyone there is really nice. Ask for "Jola"! I think she's the main hair dresser there and she's awesome.

I am now a local to Queen West and I love this hair salon! It is beautiful, the people are nice, and the vibe is not too trendy like you can find in some shops across town, but it is not outdated either. I think there is a very welcoming vibe in a somewhat timeless space. If you are in the area please check out this little gem. :)

I showed her an inspo pic and I already had a premonition that my hair wasn't thick enough to get the same effect, but she still explained how we can work with my hair type and get as close as possible. She didn't make me feel like I wasted her time and I was not disappointed with the results. Even if I were, she made me comfortable enough to feel like I could say something. The space is large with two floors and has a comfortable waiting area. The receptionist was also very kind and all in all a great experience

While she was making chit chat about wanting a "shag" style cut, her hair dresser kept giving looks to another hairdresser trying not to laugh. They were being super judgey and even though the customer couldn't see I thought it was kind of rude of them to do that. Cassandra is my go to girl. She does WONDERS with colour. I'm always satisfied after a visit with Cassandra. She is always so friendly and talkative, it's like we've been friends forever lol. In fact, EVERYONE at the salon is very friendly. They are always so welcoming. You just feel really comfortable at the salon. They always offer you tea, water or coffee. Well, my experience was great and I will be sure to get more cuts as I visit Brampton for work. Thank you Jade for the fab cut, great attitude, and wholesome and great customer service! I went to MOMO Hair Salon to get my first digital perm. Not going to lie, I was a bit nervous since…read moreI wasn't sure if my previous thick black hair could be transformed into nice curly waves. Wow, Liz and Sumi certainly worked their magic on my hair. My appointment started out with a thorough consultation to understand my hair type, my face type and how I style my hair on a daily basis. Then, we proceeded to a trim to the side of my head and at the back of my head. Sumi asked lots of great questions and walked through every step of the process to make sure I was aware of the procedures and communicated what was going on, which I really did appreciate. Then, we proceeded to the application of the solution which was pretty cool as it was 3-person teamwork project to apply solution while putting my hair into curls. It was actually a fun experience. The final reveal of my hair was amazing. I was in awe of how my dull and boring thick black horn could look naturally shaped with the curls. The style was clean and smart and the staff provided helpful tips to ensure that I can maintain my look for a long-term basis. I highly recommend this spot if this is your first or ongoing perm appointment. It was one of the most pleasant experiences, especially for this person who does not like sitting in a chair for long periods of time.

The last place I went to overcharged me and only dyed the top 3/4 of my hair (not close to the roots). Gene was the exact opposite: he took his time on each strand of hair (a perfectionist), was incredibly attentive, and told me what he was doing each step of the way. The salon is run by a couple (Gene and Mariam) and they are such funny, kind, and patient people. They made the salon experience so much more comfortable, especially given that the balayage process took ~5 hours. The pricing is also really reasonable, compared to other places I've been. Overall, I highly recommend this salon. I'm definitely going back!

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. Gene completely ruined my hair…read more I went in for a consultation first where we both agreed on what I wanted. I clearly explained that I wanted an electric blue colour and even showed him multiple reference photos. He told me he understood my vision and said he could achieve it. The next day I had my appointment. He started bleaching my hair at 3:08 PM and didn't wash the bleach out until 6:57 PM. After the first round of bleach he told me he had reached the colour needed for the blue I wanted, and I was very happy. However, he then told me he was planning to do a blue-black colour. I immediately told him that if it was going to be blue-black, I wanted it lighter instead. He reassured me that he could still achieve the lighter blue. After the second round of bleach, he applied a very vibrant purple dye. I was extremely confused, and even the friends I was on the phone with at the time were confused because purple was never part of the plan. When I asked him about it, he told me to "trust him," which I did because he is supposed to be a specialist. When we were waiting, I asked about the price and he said it would be $450, which already seemed very high to me. Then when we went to wash my hair, he immediately started brushing it while it was wet. My hair stayed a bright purple and I started to panic. When I touched it, it felt like elastic and was extremely damaged. I started crying and told him I did not want him touching my hair anymore because it was clearly ruined. Despite completely damaging my hair, he still demanded payment and would not let me leave until I paid something. He even blocked the way and blamed the damage on me, saying I caused it myself. I have been dyeing my hair since I was 13 years old and I have NEVER experienced damage like this from any stylist until now. I did NOT want purple hair, and I definitely did not want hair that feels like elastic and is completely destroyed. This experience was incredibly upsetting and unprofessional.
