We went with Hale because of their name even though we had lower price bids. They pumped carbon monoxide into our house through their generator which set off all of our alarms. I had to call the fire department to get the issue resolved. While they adjusted our bill they acted like we were overreacting and didn't appreciate having to compensate an amount we thought was fair. read more

Insulation from Hale was a recommended contractor for the Dominion Energy rebate program so I contacted them for an estimate to install R-50 blown in fiberglass insulation on a rental unit that I manage. They were efficient, fairly priced and did their work quickly. After the work was done, they helped provide the documentation needed for the Dominion rebate which helped cover part of the cost for their work. I'm really looking forward to the lower gas bills that I expect to see during the coming winter months. They also do spray foam insulation jobs for those who may need that type of service. read more

Honestly the worst experience I could have imagined. Rob started out on the right foot, moving quickly to get his team out to spray the ceiling of my 1600 square foot unfinished basement. I did make the mistake of telling Rob I was going to close the ceiling with Sheetrock the following day. Thank goodness that didn't happen. First of all the mess upstairs took hours to clean. There was an actual visible cloud of dust. But worst of all, my contractor identified that instead of the agreed upon 12 inches of insulation, I was given 2-3. When I called Rob to discuss the problem he was rude and asked if I'd even checked properly. I assured him we had, and made plans for him to meet my contractor the next morning at 8AM- he does not work for free but I felt I needed his help. After all I was paying $2140 for sound insulation that I did not get. Rob didn't show up but another crew did. One of the workers acknowledged it was really "terrible for the last crew to leave things like that and spoke of the 2 inches of spray as well". Afterward, I was left to deal with another mess which fortunately wasn't as bad as the first but still took hours to clean. I got a text the next day from Rob asking for my email so he could invoice me. I expressed my frustration at the situation and questioned how such a major "accident" could happen. I got no response but my invoice was discounted by a pathetic $100. I would never ever recommend this service. Had the Sheetrock gone up as planned I would have paid $2140 for nothing. After their first attempt I think there was more insulation upstairs than in my ceiling. read more

Great experience on a crawl space that desperately needed insulation. Called and spoke with Rob. I'm an out of town owner and he agreed to meet with me on the day I arrived, responded quickly with good options and a reasonable estimate. The work was done just a few days later before I had to leave town again. Thanks for making that happen Rob! The crew doing the work was courteous and seemed to really enjoy their job.
