I submitted my claim expecting my insurance company to help me through the process. Instead, my claim was denied based on an allegation that my vehicle was being used for work. I strongly disagreed with that determination. My vehicle was being used for personal transportation and commuting, and I provided documentation from my employer confirming that I do not transport clients as part of my job. Despite providing this information and appealing the decision, I have continued to deal with this situation for months. What has been especially frustrating is the amount of time, effort, and stress this process has caused. I expected my insurance company to investigate the circumstances fairly and work with me, rather than leaving me feeling like I had to fight to have my claim properly considered. I have since taken the matter to the Indiana Department of Insurance and am continuing to pursue a resolution. I am sharing my experience because I believe customers deserve to know how their claims may be handled when a dispute arises.
